Delaying caffeine is not to allow build up of adenosine, as you wrongly said in the intro. It's to allow the leftover adenosine from sleep to fade before caffeine comes in to bind to their receptors.

Things like coffee or no coffee, cold showers/ive baths, mediation, semen retention and so on seem to be highly individual....try them and continue if they work, or don't. You do you. Good video.

I used to drink pre-workouts all the time. 200+ mg of caffeine in the morning. I'd be so tired and crash in the afternoon and need another little dose. After our son was born it caught up with me with the worse sleep. I would wake up and take my pre-workouts and not notice a difference. I wasn't dreaming either as I wasn't getting deep sleep.
Weaned off caffeine and sleep and energy greatly improved.
Went almost half a year caffeine free but then our son began teething and sleep really suffered. I've settled on 100mg caffeine capsules. I take them with LMNT for electrolytes and that seems to work really well for me on top of intermittent fasting. Getting deep sleep now, dreaming, and when I get a good night's sleep I feel refreshed (still hit and miss with the little one who is almost 17 months). I'm definitely a slow metabolizer of caffeine.
Hoping to go caffeine free again soon for a bit and cycle on and off long term.

I used to not drink coffee on a daily basis. I only drank coffee when I had a migraine coming on, and it was like the best form of medicine if I didn't have amy panadol or ibuprofen on hand.
Coffee withdrawal is not the same as chronic migraines, and for those who suffer from migraines - we know the difference.

    • @JezaGaia
      @JezaGaia 2 месяца назад +2

It can do both at the same time.
I had migraines, the real ones 3 days in bed in the dark no smells no noise no food nausea, for years. I wasn't a coffee drinker, didn't like the taste much.
The anti migraine meds are pretty bad for the health so I was trying to find a way to use them less often, I was given a pill with paracetamol and caffeine and if taken at the very early stages of the migraine it worked 80% of the time.
However paractemol is also pretty harsh on the liver and I had a time in my life when migraines were almost 1 per week. So to void too much paracetamol my doctor advised trying coffee.
It works pretty well. As long as I drink 2 cups a day, one in the morning one in the evening I have way less migraines and sometimes just an added coffee if the migraine seems to be coming is enough to strop it.
However if I don't drink my 2 cups I'll immediately get a headache. Not a migraine but a simple headache.
Issue being that when you are someone who gets migraines many times headaches become migraines. It depends of stress levels, what time of the month it is (I'm a woman obviously :) ) how well I slept for example. So I'm condemned to drinking the coffee to avoid the withdrawal headaches but I can confirm that regular caffeine intake reduces greatly the number of migraines I have.

The coffee delay makes completes sense to me, hear me out. Assuming there is still some adenosine left in the body in the morning, and caffeine connects to the same receptors in the CNS, wouldn't there be more receptors available for the caffeine to connect to when you first clear out the remaining adenosine after sleeping? Hence first clearing the adenosine out in the first 90 minutes of the day by moving the body, viewing sunlight etc?

Grape vine get a lot of pesticides too (at least 20% of all the pesticides used in my country for less than 3% of cultivated lands) so I'm not sure if coffee is the worst but it may contain a lot of pesticides. A lot of these pesticides are illegal in Europa but largely used in Brazil for example (38,000 tons of pesticides used each year in that country just for coffee) so yes it's better to take organic coffee. But remember caffeine is a pesticide too. 😉

heck yes, fantastic video dude! Damn man I remember when you first started your channel and were focused on keto YEARS ago man, good work. Anyways I tend to lose weight when I drop caffeine. I actually feel less hungry off of it because I don't stress eat and actually feel in my body and feel my real hunger cues.... also getting better sleep and lowered stress hormones is huge for recovery, fat loss and mental health in general..... honestly caffeine in anything over 100mg doesn't do anything but make me angry, neurotic, impulsive and worried. It wrecks my sleep later on too where I need to take all these supplements, herbs or tablets just to sleep..... and that creates its own set of problems....... caffeine is probably best used for a race, or on a competition day.... never on a rest day never consecutive days.... no more than 2X a week at under 100mg

city of Kyiv, Ukraine. 250-300 ml of coffee every morning. I often add coconut oil and chocolate with 90+% cocoa butter. I was diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease 7 years ago (now I am 51 years old). The condition worsened. 3 years ago, I switched to an intermittent LCHF diet (there I met "bulletproof coffee"). I periodically perform steatometry of the liver. Ultrasound and liver enzyme studies are close to the indicators of a healthy me, only at the age of 30 (I did the research then). There are no problems with falling asleep and waking up. My wife sometimes drinks 100 ml of coffee in the evening, and then she cannot sleep properly and in the morning she already feels tired. I have heard about decalcification of bones, but I monitor the level of 25-OH D3 in the blood (170-200 mmol/l I maintain through nutritional supplements) and all electrolytes. I have no problems with this. So I consider coffee to be a wonderful substance for me. The main thing is to understand when to use it and find the right amount.

Hello. Are there any serious, well-made and executed studies, that have studied and measured caffeine/coffee impact on sleep and sleep stages ( quality and quantity of sleep ) in people? I'm curious as to how much better sleep would one get without coffee, and if there are individuals that are not affected by it ( has to be measured somehow to be proven useful )?
Smart devices like wrist watches, rings, etc. do track and measure sleep, and although not accurate, they do show ( at least for me ) that each time I consume coffee, deep sleep and REM decrease drastically. I have been using these devices for some years, and again, they are not 100% accurate and I do not trust their measurements 100%, but they do register and measure differences ( and different results from my baseline ), every time, whenever: I drink coffee or any other caffeine based drinks, whenever I consumed alcohol ( don't drink anymore ), whenever I ate too much cake, sweets, chocolate, whether homemade or store bought, whenever I ate too much, too close to bedtime.
When I don't regularly consume coffee ( and I also avoid the stuff mentioned above, albeit not always combined ), I get better sleep measurements and I do rest better, things that are evident in how I feel, how I perform when running, biking, also things like lower resting heart rate during sleep, during the next day, lower heart rate peaks, etc.
    Cheers!

I get the midday crash with caffeine or no caffeine (if taken in the morning), and my main belief of the midday crash I do get seems to correlate with how much food I ate for lunch (carb wise). Caffeine in the morning stresses me out during work hours (retail), so I don't need the extra boost on top of my natural energy.
The serotonin from taking the first sip after a hard day's work seem to help me relax. Caffeine taken during the afternoon/evening hours does keep my heart beat high before bed, but I still wake up fully rested for the following work day (I wake up at 5am).
