Been off caffeine for over 2 years now (and seriously abused it before then in the form of energy drinks). Went through crappy withdrawal for about 2 weeks (and I mean, it sucked - sick, dizzy, etc.), then my body recovered. Took 6 months before I was 'over' the cultural aspect of it (missed drinking it and missed the 'buzz'). Now, I could care less about it. Energy is smooth and even all day, even on long road trips (don't get tired/sleepy). Go to bed and fall asleep quickly, wake up, ready to go. I exclusively drink water - that's it. No sugar, no caffeine - all day, every day. You CAN do it, but be prepared to suffer for a bit before adjusting.
What's great is that once you're a while in the clear from caffeine and have a proper sleep schedule locked in, you can use some caffeine in non-routine situations when you know you will really need a boost. A long road trip for example. It's not like alcohol where it's objectively terrible every time you consume it in any amount, so once you break the routine addiction, you can actually use it as an occasional tool
121 days -100% off caffeine here. It's been quite an awakening. Sleeping better than I ever have in my adult life. When I lay down at night I'm out like a switch. When I get up in the morning, I'm rested, sharp, clear, calm, focused, and really awake... Which has been a stunning revelation. My dream cycle became richer and more regular. I've noticed a dramatic increase in mood balance and stability. All anxiety vaporized. Digestion improved. Yes, teeth have whitened, too. Withdrawal was arduous, lasting about 20-30 days. By 60 days, with pristine clarity, I realized that the mass of people are junkies, unaware they are genuine drug addicts that just happen to be using a physiologically non-essential, legal, schedule one, psychotropic drug, because the use of it is so ubiquitous and normalized. Quitting for 30 days is ONLY the beginning, as things start to actually, finally, improve around day 30. Quitting for 30 days is merely dipping a toe in the pool. My experiential wisdom: Get strong, go long.
I hope I can quit and realize this one day. My use is probably extreme. I started with energy drinks and pre workouts as long as they have been around without ever having a real break. I know it is killing my sleep, but the cycle is so hard to break when you have a job you have to be "up" for every day. I know the detox is going to be miserable so I keep avoiding if, but I can't go on with this cycle of uppers and downers to get through life. I feel it is slowly killing me.

@@DrbergHello Doctor Berg, I watched this video on certain effects of caffeine on the body... And at the same time I also saw one of your videos dismaying the beneficial effects of coffee, particularly after the age of 45. Myself a coffee lover who only drinks 2 cups maximum of pure ground coffee... When do you think doctor...
I watched another video of yours saying how B1 deficiency can contribute to depression and anxiety. And seeing on here that coffee can deplete our body of B1 was pretty mind blowing/eye opening. Thank you for your great videos, so helpful!
I am a regular gym goer so I consume about 300mg of caffeine before I work out. Today If I decide to stop consuming caffeine, in about 3 days I will feel all of the negative side effects, such as headaches and etc. But during Ramadan when I was fasting for more than 16 hours a day, I decided not to consume any caffeine all month during my 8-hour feeding window. Shockingly I didn't get a single headache or any bad side effects. The correlation between fasting whilst quitting caffeine is very interesting.
This might be due to the overall decrease of toxins because you are fasting. so you don't get any headaches because you don't have so many toxins in your system
I had reduced my intake to a bit under that daily but am a long-term caffeine addict. I had the same results with doing a 3 day fast. Very little to no caffeine headaches/cravings.
That's interesting. It's the opposite for me. On Yom Kippur I get MASSIVE headaches every year. But when I quit coffee in September 2022, it did not coincide with fasting, and was shocked that I didn't get any headaches. (I didn't fast last year for medical reasons.). I guess all of these years, the fasting on Yom Kippur is from a combination of dehydration, caffeine withdrawal, and hunger--and not JUST caffeine withdrawal. (It's a 25 to 26 hour fast.) I so admire anyone who can fast for a month.
I went 68 days without caffeine And sugar just to see what would happen This was 3 years ago Omg amazing! Anything and everything of the body cleared up and I was like a newborn. It was hard the first two weeks I encourage anyone to get thru the withdrawals because it's so worth it! I now only will eat a natural sugar of fruit Very little Still no caffeine If I need energy I get it from an avocado or a teaspoon of olive oil. Or many other things My body's fuel is of fat not sugar Go for it everyone One day at a time ok One little step at a time Is suggest take a weeks vacation and give into the downside of feeling bad as your body resets itself I did this because I knew it would be hard to reverse Best decision in life so far for me 🧡

I had 10 days of headaches, neck pain, and depression when I quit. Now I feel great and I'm never going back to coffee! Best part was how much it helped my gut issues.
I also quit, was feeling very sad, anxious, depressed ad even had a panick attack one day, thought I was going mad! Now almost back to normal, no more coffee for me as I developed heart palpitations too
I am software engineer. I quit coffee because I noticed that I feel too tired in the afternoon. When I quit previously I could spend 2 hours a day on self improvement, reading and then do my job well. When I started consuming caffeine, I stopped self improvement and couldn’t do anything except my job in the first half of a day.
I was free of caffeine for more than two years until I started as software engineer... it is very hard for me work in software without it, but in other jobs I could do it just fine... also, I tried again and the same result, I am unable to code without it :(

Did you go cold turkey? I'm in the process of cutting it out slowly at the moment but just seem to be craving it consistantly because I can't have as much as I really want. I'm wondering whether cold turkey would be less painful in the long run?
I'm now 8 months in with very limited caffeine, I limited coffee to maybe one cup per Month on special occasions. I now drink some tea but this is a fraction of the caffeine from the coffee I drank. My results: Naturally feel tired and fall asleep each month No energy dip. Constant energy throughout the day. No mood fluctuations or dependence on coffee. Great to watch this affirming video. Hope others can follow.
I started carnivore diet 7 weeks ago and drinking coffee was causing very watery stools. I decided to stop drinking coffee to prevent this issue. It worked, and I didn't struggle with side effects. I drink hot water with lemon in the morning and am doing great.
I started carnivore too! I had to ween off the coffee. I went to half a cup from a cup then to tea. 2 days ago I stopped tea. I had to keep reminding myself that these drinks come from plants and plants are a no no in Carnivore and the knowledge Sally Norton shared about plants/veggies. It was hard to stop because I was tired but now I'm slowly getting normal energy again. I plan on making bone broth as my cup of warmth every morning.
I'm glad you wrote this. I'm having the same issue---I'm following a ketovore, more nearly pescatarian-keto, way of eating, but the toileting issue has been problematic. I do think it's likely the coffee I have once a day, so now I'll do the hot water/lemon juice instead.
i had to do this as well when i made it too 100 percent carnivore but found that it was easier to give up once i made it there vs any other time in my life.
I did it 20 years ago. No coffee ,no coca cola , no soft drinks , no black tea. I drink herbal and fruit tea. I sleep better, no shaking, I look and feel healthy.
Sharing Dr Berg notes on this great episode! Let’s talk about what would happen if you cut out caffeine for 30 days. Over 85% of adults in the US consume caffeine, and children also consume a tremendous amount of caffeine. Some studies show that caffeine consumption can increase conceptual memory, reasoning, reaction speed, and spatial memory. It can also affect your mood. However, many people experience symptoms associated with consuming caffeine, including: • Anxiety • High blood pressure • High pulse rate • Arrhythmias • Loss of fluid • Digestive problems Caffeine also increases adrenaline and stimulates the adrenals, which can lead to all kinds of health concerns. There can be high levels of two different types of mold found in overly processed coffees and decaf coffees. These types of mold can lead to allergies and irritation in the liver.
Coffee can also deplete vitamin B1. If you’re going to drink coffee, it’s important to consume high-quality organic coffee and keep it at one cup a day. Potential benefits of not consuming caffeine for 30 days: 1. Less anxiety and a higher sense of calm 2. Better sleep and more energy throughout the day 3. Lowered blood pressure and pulse rate 4. No more arrhythmias 5. Healthier teeth 6. Healthier liver function 7. Healthier adrenal function The best ways to come off caffeine: • Switch from coffee to tea • Try herbal coffee substitutes • Take vitamin B1 and vitamin B12 • Take adaptogens like ashwagandha and lemon balm tea Thank you Dr Berg!! 😺👍
I had severe panic attacks 10-12 times per day and couldn’t fall asleep for the life of me. I was also drinking coffee throughout the entire work day. Gradually stopped coffee altogether and I’ve never slept better in my life and I’ve had zero panic attacks since coming off of coffee/caffeine.
@@thepowerofsteeam3518 1-2 weeks. I will say that when I stopped, I also made sure to get good sleep and to walk at least 3 miles at a time (or more) per day.
I stopped drinking coffee about a month ago (but I still drink black tea, been drinking it since childhood) -- didn't notice any improvement in my sleep. Yes, anxiety did significantly diminish, which made it worth it for me. Had cravings but now they are just about completely gone. Don't think I'd quit tea though.
Anton - Even the black tea has plenty of caffeine in it to interrupt sleep. But don’t stop drinking it if you enjoy it. Maybe just try cutting it out earlier in the day so that the caffeine can be metabolized out of your system prior to bedtime. 🤷♂️

@@Marty22408 You might not want to go cold turkey. The headache you'll have this afternoon will be a b*tch! I highly recommend the gradual approach he described in this video! (I learned the hard way!)
One reason to quit is DEPENDENCE. I love, love, love my coffee-I buy very high-quality, organic, delicious beans and grind them right before brewing, and I use a very small amount of delicious plant-based creamer (my only added sugar to my keto diet). But what I struggle with is when I go on trips, I have to plan for my coffee first thing in the morning, make my vacation buddies wait while I consume it, have to either take my coffee and creamer with me or plan to purchase it wherever I go. Also, neither my coffee nor my creamer are cheap…so while I’ve substantially reduced my grocery bill with my keto diet and intermittent fasting, I still have to budget for (and remember to keep on my grocery list) those two items for fear of running out. That dependence does bother me. I have totally gone off coffee a few times over the years (when pregnant or just because I feel the desire to), and it is not easy, and it does come with increasing side effects the longer you’ve been drinking coffee. So if you’re not already addicted, my advice is to stop now.
Same! I was just mournfully considering it last night. Have decreased my amount already to one and a half cups, but the more I've learned from Dr. Berg, the more I've admitted to myself certain little habits that may be impacting my health even in small ways. Will likely finish off what supply I have and give matcha a try! 🍵
Regular caffeine consumption can lead to dependence, where your body becomes accustomed to the effects of caffeine and requires it to function normally. Abruptly reducing or stopping caffeine intake can cause withdrawal symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, irritability, and difficulty concentrating.
yes Dr. Berg! I have been 9 months Without Coffee and i feel fantastic, no jitters, no anxiety and great nights sleep! Even tho the reason why i quit coffee was because I lost my baby at 2 months due to a bad diet, lack of nutrients and not exercising. Being caffeine free has amazing advantages

@@Drberg Dr. Eric, God's messenger, Ellen White, wrote over 120 years ago that many people are in mental hospitals because of coffee and tea. Caffeine shatters the nerves.
I am a coffee junkie but I quit drinking coffee cold turkey about 6 weeks ago. I thought it would help me sleep better but it hasn’t. I suppose the next thing I need to do is stay off my phone before going to bed every night. Thanks Dr. Berg!
Me too but I was gradually reducing my amount of cups per day. I went from 12 to about 6 split through the day. I won't have coffee past 2pm and 3 at the very latest. That gives it time to leave your system by bedtime (for me that's 8-9p). The key to falling to sleep for me is no video games, news, social media or mentally engaging shows a few hours before bed. Nobrainer content only. I keep a DVR in the bedroom of only things that help me sleep - it varies for different people.
At a certain point of no improvement you have to go to a sleep doctor or sleep study specialist. Sleep is such a difficult thing to self-analyze since you’re unconscience when it happens
Yes, so many things impact our circadian rhythm, not just caffeine. BUT, rest assured (no pun intended), cutting caffeine is definitely a big piece to your sleep issue puzzle. Keep up the great work unraveling what troubles you until you achieve the result you're after. It's definitely a process!

I went off caffeine for 2 months years ago after a severe "panic attack". I thought it came from too much coffee. As a cyclist I have to say I really felt amazing, really did not have coffee cravings (perhaps I was too scared to use it), and the most important thing, my performance boosted. But then slowly I went back on coffee and I am struggling to quit it. I am really trying to use it "right" way, not to abuse it.
I had to stop all caffeine consumption five years ago (long story) and honestly have felt amazing. No lows in fatigue no afternoon burn out any more, I have a much more consistent energy level now and feel more energetic in general.
Are you some kind of wizard? I've literally decided to stop drinking coffee for the next two weeks from today and this video comes out?! I'm a big specialty coffee lover, so this is a big step for me! I usually drink around 2 cups a day, but looking forward to see how I'll feel at the end of this challenge.
I had anxiety issues over a year ago and the Doc recommended I stayed off coffee for a few weeks. After going through withdrawals, I decided to just stay off caffeine in general and I can honestly say, it's been great! It's also tougher to avoid caffeine than I thought because it's in EVERYTHING.
I’ve recently been told about not having coffee until one and a half hours after you wake up. apparently you start off on the adrenal system and move to a different system, however drinking coffee first thing eliminates the body’s ability to produce the right hormone later on. Would love this fact checked by Dr Berg. Thank you for your videos, so good!
I have been adjusting when I consume coffee, I don't drink it first thing in the morning. I force myself to drink 2 cups of water first thing in the morning most days. Baby steps...😊
I used to take 6 scoops of a 1 scoop recommendation pre-workout drink. Over years, I developed such a tolerance that I needed 6 scoops to achieve the bare minimum effect. One day, I decided to stop. I went through heavy withdrawals and depression for about 6 months. After getting over it, I've found that energy levels are balanced all day, and I have zero need for caffeine. In fact, people are often shocked to see how well I perform without it. They often don't believe it to be possible (that someone could exist without caffeine in their diet).
Good video! One of the best decisions I’ve ever made was giving up coffee about 8 month’s ago. My sleep greatly improved, my mental focus improved, my vision improved because the caffeine is no longer blocking the little blood veins connected to the eyes. I recommend reading the book “caffeine blues”. It’s an eye opener.
I'm more awake in the afternoons without caffeine and way less irritable or anxious. I'm also not overthinking as much. I usually get a steamer in the morning and that helps. The habit is hard to stop. I do miss the caffeinated workouts. This channel has improved my life so much. Thank you! 💛
About how much caffeine were you drinking? Was the anxiety/overthinking helpful in retrospect? The main complaint with caf is irratibiliity/anxiety, but is it needless worrying or is it simply being more engaged?
@EricV-lq3jq I was drinking about a medium-sized cold brew in the mornings. I am sensitive to caffeine, so looking back, I think the lack of quality sleep was the actual problem. The overthinking was like my brain was overstimulated to the point it would lead to overwhelm and limit productivity, so looking back it was wasted time.
I unintentionally quit soda/coffee/energy drinks/alcohol a month ago and I think I'm going to just run with it. Haven't had much for cravings, I'm hoping to see more benefits down the road. I've had a slightly harder time maintaining a proper sleep schedule but that might be attributed to a life change that is less physically and mentally demanding.
Been off it for 7 years. Had weekly migraines from age 7 til age 42. Read an article about caffeine sensitivity. I’ve had 2 migraines in 7 years. Would never go back on it for any reason. Much less anxiety, and stress. Just takes perseverance to stay off it. After a couple months it’s much easier

I couldn't drink coffee until I was in my 50s. It used to give me a headache. After gaving up sugar and nasty carbs my headaches went away and now I can drink it. I love the habbit of getting up in the morning and drinking a cup of black coffee. Its so relaxing. I have one cup 50/50 caffeine/decaf in the morning and a decaf in the afternoon after lunch, sometimes with stevia and cream. Its my relax time.

For all my adult life I have only drunk one cup of coffee a day in the morning. A few years ago, I decided to give up caffeine. I lasted about 1-2 months and it was the worst thing I’ve ever done! It felt like my brain had fallen out. There are good benefits of caffeine and I’m cool with that ✌️🌸
Agree, although I am a tea drinker (much lower caffeine levels) I have about three or four coffees a week, in cafeterias (I live in Spain) and for me it is a treat. I drink it with milk and without any sugar and this took a bit of getting used to but I braved it out and now I absolutely love it as sugar taints everything. I feel good sensations after it. however it is not a rush, more plaing sailing. So, I reckon, one or two, maybe even three a day would not be harmful, beats getting drunk! Like most things in life, moderation is the key.
I try not to go over two cups per day and restricted myself to one cup for many years. Kind of hard to give up coffee when I'm not really abusing it too much. However if I start experiencing trouble staying asleep I quit caffiene until it passes. I try to make my coffee as weak as possible but it's probably still too much caffeine.
I am basically an herbal tea drinker. I have coffee maybe once or twice a week. For those that might want to try an alternative to coffee, there is an herbal drink that taste very much like coffee and it’s called Teechino. It comes in different flavors and comes ground or even in tea bags. It’s delicious and it’s made with different herbs such as barley and even has prebiotics. I personally don’t think coffee is bad for you, it’s just that I personally am sensitive to too much caffeine.
It's taken me about half a week to give up coffee and I feel much better! I've been drinking green tea and hope to give that up too eventually. One thing that helped me out before hand was forcing myself to drink the coffee black. I was addicted to the milk and sugar too. I've given up all of those things except for butter and I feel so much better!
Don’t give up on green tea, but you must find the high quality pure leaves. Green tea has antioxidants, if you drink the high quality pure leaves, there should be a perfect balance between caffeine and L theanine( which coffee doesn’t have). You should feel more energy, awake alert focus but calm at the same time. 😊
I've been off caffeine for a few weeks now, and I already feel like a different person. Here are the best things I've noticed so far: - I wake up in the morning and feel fully alert in less than five minutes. - I have consistent energy throughout the day with no afternoon crashes. - I feel calm and relaxed, with no heart palpitations (which I used to get even after just two cups or about 220 mg of caffeine before lunch). - At night, I fall asleep almost immediately. There are many more benefits, but these are my top highlights.
One small cup of freshly brewed light coffee in the morning is more than enough for me. I sometimes substitute it with a cup of green tea with mint. I can also go the whole month of Ramadan without a single drop of coffee, causing only a bit of drowsiness the first three days or so, and only have the occasional green tea with mint after my meal.
My body is very sensitive to caffeine and I didn’t know it for years, I had all 4 of the first negative symptoms you’re talking about. My mistake was going cold turkey and quitting right away, I’ve never had more anxiety/depressed emotions than the 2-3 weeks after quitting. But now I don’t have any heart palpitations, and anxiety is so much better!
Sometimes I'm envious of those people who only tried coffee once and never drank it again. Maybe my mistake was getting started young, around age 10 with tea and iced coffees.
I was caffeine free most of my life and only really started drinking coffee regularly (1-2 cups 4-5 days a week) the past few years since i had a 2nd child. The only difference I notice is it helps me during the afternoon lull of energy where i have to keep working for another 4-5 hours. No issues otherwise. On a side note your education about carbs/keto really turned that afternoon lull around and I noticed i no longer had drain of energy in the afternoon - likely due to higher carb load in the am
yuop now when i want to drink a cup of coffee i just think about my resting heart rate going up and that nights sleep quality will suffer so thats enought not to drink!!!
I drink basically light roast coffee which is the least processed and highest in caffeine with heavy cream as a meal. I have skipped coffee for a few days and the biggest side effect was depression. I always check my blood pressure before consuming and sometimes have taken it to raise it and boost my mood more than my energy. It doesn't make me anxious but gives me a positive outlook. Since I don't drink any alcohol, I've drank coffee at parties to be more relaxed and sociable. I've also used it as an expectorant. I would like to drink tea as a substitute to wean myself off caffeine and gain benefits not in coffee but find its harder on the stomach. Most days when I'm alone, one cup is all I need, the other is to be with friends and they are paying my Starbucks.😅
As a coffee connoisseur for 5 years, I drink coffee mainly because I like the taste. I went into the rabbit hole of specialty coffee and there's no turning back. Milk drinks like cortado or Cappuccino are nice too, the milk compliments the espresso taste notes. Never do I ever drink espresso, cortado or cappuccino with sugar. Not is sugar bad for you, but it also masks the great tasting notes from coffee. That being said, I rather drink no coffee or tea than drinking bad coffee :D
I quit caffeinated tea and coffee nearly 2 years ago. I did replace it with drinking cocoa (no sugar), so now i consume roughly 12mg caffeine per day . This has been a big health journey for me. Getting in touch with my genuine energy levels, having to rely on good diet and sleep (no 'short cut' burst of energy or dopamine). It's given me a better connection to the 'real me'.
@@android584 from what I've seen, cocoa contains about 4mg caffeine per teaspoon. It has other health benefits e.g. high in magnesium, which helps you relax. When you calculate caffeine half life, if i had a latte at 8am, i would still have 20mg of caffeine in my system at 11pm. So at least 4mg is still better than that.
Great video Dr. Berg. For us middle aged men who have sensitive bladders and suffer from nocturia, , cutting back on caffeine included drinks is a huge must or it will be a busy night back and forth to the washroom. Some teas have very high caffeine counts so you need to check the content before consuming. Also keep an eye on the chocolate intake.
Today is my 8th day without caffeine. I've had insomnia for over 5 years, most nights only getting 2-3 hours of sleep. I was only having one strong coffee in the morning just because I liked the flavour (I didn't notice any energy boost or anything) and sometimes a coffee in a cafe for brunch. Anyway, in the last week without any caffeine I've been sleeping through the night!! For the first time in years!! Also my anxiety has diminished by about 80%. I now think I must be hypersensitive to caffeine 🤷♀️
I gave up caffeine two years ago. I have never felt better or slept better than I have since. I can fall asleep or wake up any time, no matter how much sleep I did or didn't get previously. Jet lag no longer bothers me because I can easily adjust to time zones. I don't miss it at all.
Thank you Dr Berg for doing this video so many people are addicted to coffee and alcohol that I know it’s truly apart of the problem of health issues in America.
So many of my co-workers complain of anxiety and insomnia yet refuse to acknowledge the correlation to their all-day caffeine consumption. It’s truly a drug that comes with denial.

Excellent video! I gave up all caffeine for 6 weeks in 2002, never felt so CALM. And then i was dumb enough to try a cup of instant coffee. I had explosive diarrhoea exactly 15-20 mins afterwards. And it also is like cannabis as how people make it a bigger issue than it is. Nobody has every cared about caffeine. If you’re paranoid and weak minded caffeine consumption will now bother you. People have smoked weed forever and now people are saying it’s hard to quit when it’s a big circle jerk of making bigger problems then there are. Caffeine and cannabis are good in moderation but there’s is 0 harm in either of them
@@42fifty Weed turns you into a mentally inferior state. As you’ve proved by writing that utter trash. And also tell that to the pot heads who have panic attacks as withdrawals.
The darker roasted beans supposedly have less caffeine, the lighter roasts have more. I’ve always loved the dark roasts, like French roast. I don’t tend to have any negative effects from coffee, and I drink a lot. I can drink a cup at 7:00 pm and go to bed at 9:00 and have no problem sleeping.
Great vid. I quit it for 3 months last year. Felt better in pretty much all the ways you describe. However, I did miss it as a pre-workout, and appetite suppressant during fasting. I never got to the point where my workouts felt as good as previous, caffeinated ones (where often I'd take a caffeine pill 100mg, then drink a coffee, for). I ended up going back to it for those reasons, now I probably drink 3 a day, all before 1400. And pretty much all during fast. I would like to quit it again, but with work it's tough. I have to be switched on and fast in meeting for my job, and the quitting period's 'brain fog' is a killer.
I went cold turkey and after 2 days I was completely fine, it actually helps quitting if you really feel bad for a while and see how strong this drug is
I abstained from consuming caffeine for eight years until I resigned from my position and established my own companies. The challenge arose when I required enhanced focus and alertness, prompting me to reintroduce caffeine in the form of coffee. My daily intake is limited to a single small cup. One may question the potential issue. However, abstaining from coffee consumption for even a single day results in severe headaches and withdrawal-like symptoms that significantly impair my functionality. Sometimes, I experience difficulty eating and a sensation of nausea upon attempting to consume food. It is astonishing how profoundly caffeine affects me. This experience prompted my initial cessation of caffeine consumption for eight years. Regrettably, I underestimated the enduring impact it would have on me, assuming that my sensitivity had diminished over time. I am perplexed by the unique manner in which caffeine affects me compared to others. My primary objective is to eliminate these debilitating headaches. Is there a way to avoid getting headaches if I stop for one day?
I went "cold turkey" stopping all caffeine after years of heavy, daily intake. Results? Incredible depression. My body just shut down. Slowly recovering......
I went off caffeine for a month and man, it was bizarre how much better I slept and the amount of energy it gave me. It made me think, if this is affecting our sleep so much, which I dont think any health guru wouldn't agree is the main pillar of health we are facing a massive health problem here. There are probably millions of people with various health issues and not realising that quitting this drug could potentially improve their health and well being enormously by just getting real sleep. Im not saying curing, but improving their quality of life for sure. Worth going off it and trying at least to experience the difference I say.
I quit caffeine, a week of migraines/nausea/cravings and then I starting sleeping without waking up. For the first time in so long I slept without waking up ten times at night. Only problem was I became so chilled out my family started telling me I was depressed. So I started drinking it again, and was suprised how high I felt when I had it, but back to waking up ten times a night.
I brew 4 tsp of coffee each morning. I switched 1 tsp with organic Swiss Water Process decaf, then the next week switched 2, then 3, then all decaf. After 1 month of only decaf finally gave up coffee. But I switched to morning smoothies. I was only able to do this because I did keto so I had no more food coma. If I start eating carbs again, I start needing caffeine again. I started sleeping through the night, no road rage in the mornings, anxiety plummeted, less irritable, and more patient with people.
I drink a Maca Chocolate tea in the mornings now. I steep tea bags in cold filtered water for 8-12 hours and have it in the morning with Silk creamy creamer and Stevia. It is so good and it's a fantastic replacement for coffee. It looks like coffee and tastes very similar. The brand is called Teccino and you can find it probably online but I buy it at my local health food store. It's caffeine free, acid free, prebiotic free and organic 😊
I'm a brit, and I quit Starbucks coffee back in 2017. Best decision ever! After drinking 2 cups of coffee a day I had IBS/gut issues, and I didn't realise it made me anxious! I even quit tea! Now I drink decaf tea and I feel so good! My anxiety peaks and troughs due to my menstrual cycle. I also discovered camomile tea too! Do I miss coffee? Nope!
I made the switch from coffee to matcha last year intuitively But thinking i want to stay here. I have a cup each day and I feel really good. Thank you. 🎉
I was totally addicted to coffees & Frappes with added espresso etc all day long for years and have developed fibroids, an endometrioma and hirtuism.
Well done that's awesome

Same. It’s weird how it’s used incorrectly much more than correctly.
2 months in and I am still going through withdrawals. Caffeine should be banned.
I stopped years ago and agree with everything you said. I do however drink the same amount of decaf coffee now instead so I still get the taste, etc..

That is _shocking._ Is there _anything_ fasting can't do??? Thanks so much for sharing your amazing experience!
Also thinking that complete fasting (abstinence) includes everything's fully helps you give up that dependency
However, many people experience symptoms associated with consuming caffeine, including:
• Anxiety
• High blood pressure
• High pulse rate
• Arrhythmias
• Loss of fluid
• Digestive problems
Caffeine also increases adrenaline and stimulates the adrenals, which can lead to all kinds of health concerns.
Potential benefits of not consuming caffeine for 30 days:
1. Less anxiety and a higher sense of calm
2. Better sleep and more energy throughout the day
3. Lowered blood pressure and pulse rate
4. No more arrhythmias
5. Healthier teeth
6. Healthier liver function
7. Healthier adrenal function
The best ways to come off caffeine:
• Switch from coffee to tea
• Try herbal coffee substitutes
• Take vitamin B1 and vitamin B12
• Take adaptogens like ashwagandha and lemon balm tea

Amen. Pray for me, I will quit.

Thank you for covering this. Caffeine has messed up my stomach and a number of other things. I can't handle just having it in moderation, so for me personally I'm better without it.
Very good. You can do it!

Give your adrenals a rest - gradually reduce and then try going a week or two without the stuff and then stick to one cup a day, but I'd still say every once in a while go without it for for a few days or a week
Try green 🍵
I had to stop all caffeine consumption five years ago (long story) and honestly have felt amazing. No lows in fatigue no afternoon burn out any more, I have a much more consistent energy level now and feel more energetic in general.
I have had the same. Very level energy throughout the day since quitting caffeine.
Yeah for real. Alcohol isn't an easy thing to kick as well as it's in your face everyday
Went off caffiene for 3 weeks and my blood pressure had dropped and I'm so relaxed
100% start your day with movement then a little of water then a couple hours of nothing. This is the way

For a person with ms like me quitting coffee was one of the best decisions. No regrets
Yes, vasoconstriction in my eyes for me too... Heavy eyes, hypersensitive light and tired 🥴
@@julien-shadows3821 Man, glad im not the only one with this. Its so uncomfortable!
I also like to take a steamer in the morning.
I've been really suffering with anxiety for a long time so decided today I'm going caffeine free to see if it helps at all. 🙏
Good luck. Wishing you good health!
Try homeopathy for your sleep issues. No side effects and not addictive.

Caffeine free for 5 months. Noticeably less anxiety and sustained energy/focus throughout the day.
That only means you're addicted 🤣
I am basically an herbal tea drinker. I have coffee maybe once or twice a week. For those that might want to try an alternative to coffee, there is an herbal drink that taste very much like coffee and it’s called Teechino. It comes in different flavors and comes ground or even in tea bags. It’s delicious and it’s made with different herbs such as barley and even has prebiotics. I personally don’t think coffee is bad for you, it’s just that I personally am sensitive to too much caffeine.
Good alternative, Temperance laden position. Appreciate it!
Green tea also has caffeine. 💡
@@roguewave1060literally 😂😂
Don’t give up on green tea, but you must find the high quality pure leaves. Green tea has antioxidants, if you drink the high quality pure leaves, there should be a perfect balance between caffeine and L theanine( which coffee doesn’t have). You should feel more energy, awake alert focus but calm at the same time. 😊
@@brandytran4583plant antioxidant consumption doesn't translate into anti-inflammation in the human body.
Very good! BUT don't ever give up butter!!!! Especially Irish or butter from grass fed dairy.
I've been off caffeine for a few weeks now, and I already feel like a different person.
Here are the best things I've noticed so far:
- I wake up in the morning and feel fully alert in less than five minutes.
Green tea contains lots of caffeine.
Glad you made it through to the other side!
It was a struggle to stop drinking coffee/caffeine, but 100% worth it.
yuop now when i want to drink a cup of coffee i just think about my resting heart rate going up and that nights sleep quality will suffer so thats enought not to drink!!!
Good job 👏

I'll have to look into cocoa containing caffeine, I usually drink it at night and sometimes before bed.

Caffeine is like cannabis. If you say it’s ruining your life you’ll get mocked. Sadly These are two things addicts refuse to give up.

No. Man up. Or take a few days off and suffer through the headaches.
