I believe some clarification is needed here: This 27-track multisession (I assume this is what you have, since it's the only one that leaked), is not really a multitrack of the single song. It contains multiple takes that were recorded after the album track. The album track itself contains no background vocals, but only lead vocals (labeled as Vox6,7 and wet in this multitrack) and the original instrumental tracks. What was added afterwards, were all the background vocals, and the additional lead vocal takes. These were used by Mariah's team for the "live" performances of the song. During Charmbracelet era, especially in its start, Mariah had gone through a lot (as we all know) and felt her voice was in a very fragile state, so to save any vocal trouble (and perhaps embarrasment, since she was under fire for a long time after Glitter) while performing the song for TV, she recorded multiple takes which were played separately along with the instrumental. This gave the illusion that she was differentiating her "live" vocals in various performances, while almost the whole thing was lipped, or some parts were live and the rest lipped (you can see in some tracks that she does have parts of the choruses or the bridge). So in short, this multitrack is not meant to be played with all its tracks simultaneously, but with different pairs of vocal tracks. If you use the last three vocal tracks and the instrumental parts you get the album version, if you use combinations of the rest of the vocal tracks with the instrumental you get the "live" versions of this songs. I believe this explains the flanging since if certain tracks are played together they cancel some parts of each other via inversion.
Wow thank you for the great insight into this! I’m really happy to see this stuff reach the Lambs! You guys have all the real info! Thanks so much for your care and detail in this comment I’m so happy to learn something from the comments on these videos! Please go and check out the other Mariah videos and fee free to add some info there too if you would like to! I love reading through them! :)
@@luffegun Hi, Could you do that for "Vulnerability" but without comments on it please i'd like to hear the lead vocal isolated, the background vocals isolated, and also the instrumental alone without any vocals Thank you
@@luffegunIf you have the choars used on the Rainbow Tour on "Vulnerability" i would be glad to hear it, also where did you get these stems ??? Somebody asked you
thank you M. i have a few more on the channel if you're new to this. and theres. few more that im hoping to do in my next season. ill be taking a break at 100 episodes and working on some other projects but i will be back.
The climax to TTR also makes me emotional, hearing the instrumental stripped back evoked the same feeling; I think my mind automatically added in her vocals. The climax is the epitome of a climax. A dramatic build up! This song has the power to save lives, because it did mine!
Thank you for doing this.. this is one of my favorite underrated Mariah songs. The background vocals is probably Melonie Daniels, Mary Ann Tatum, Kelly Price and an obvious one, Trey Lorenz aka Mariahs long time bg vocal pals… I love the piano and rhodes in this song…
I love how you were able to share the breakdown of every Mariah songs. Her catalogue, musicianship, craftmanship is so so impeccable. Please please do Breakdown and The Roof. I'm very very curious about her vocals stacking in those track.
@@luffegunHey dude, you're amazing... but if you haven't ever heard "4 Of July", THAT song deserves a full vocal review video. Take my advise. Peace. 😉
This is a really good song! The final climax is epic!! Also, it is not your fault that you weren't presented with the best stems! It's alright, we still got to see a great breakdown!
The BGV’s you were wondering about are probably her background singers. I definitely hear Melonie Daniels and Trey Lorenz. Probably Mary Ann Tatum too!
Btw as I was finishing this one up, I noticed that this is not the original one released on the album. Maybe this was altered? but this specific version was used on her performance for American Music Awards and MTV as the original one had no huge choir and no whistles. You can check it out on RUclips.
and i really like the sine synth... it adds some emotional glossy texture to the song.. a weird description but thats how i always feel when i hear it in r&b and hip hop songs
Not my favorite song but the bridge and climax arrangement are ace! Thanks for the breakdown. Always cool to see how many layers it takes to reconstruct these tracks.
im Having trouble sourcing Gaga sessions that arent from guitar hero or rock band. ill do one as soon as i find a good session. thanks so much for watching Karl.
Even tho lowest in US. This is mariah's overrated song here in the Philippines. This always sing by the non lambs when it always rain or if we have flood or typhoons lol
Mariah's falsetto is impeccable. The effortlessness of her transitioning between notes/runs is perfection

Where did you find these audio files?
Awesome! There's no words for such beautiful music... only Mariah.

Mariah wrote the lyrics alone, by herself, this song is GREAT! Thank you for doing more Mariah. You were fantastic.

thank you for showing this masterpiece to us, and thank you Mariah Carey for existing

This song has the power to save lives, because it did mine!
The agility is always mind blowing with her
Although one of her lowest lead singles that was charted, it’s still a fan favorite. To Mariah, that means more than any number

I love watching your Mariah Breakdown videos! I hope you do “Circles” by Mariah next!

this is what she used for live performances
this multitrack is tour version, not original album mix.
I love Mariah Carey 😍
Your intro song always reminds me of Mariah's We Belong Together...
such an uplifting ballad...
This is interesting, thank you. Love Mariah and love this song!!
Feel better & thanks for always indulging us!
the vocals!
Awesome video. Can you do “Everything Fades Away” next???!
and i really like the sine synth... it adds some emotional glossy texture to the song.. a weird description but thats how i always feel when i hear it in r&b and hip hop songs
This is so cool. This helps me artistically, fr!!!
OMG YES!
❤❤❤
OMG MELONIE DANIELS IS LOUD AND CLEAR! PS sorry for all the comments, i'm commenting as I Listen lol
Don't apologise! Im so glad you are enjoying it! please comment as much as you like! :)
omggg thx for doing this song
love this song!!! i love the choir and bgv arrangement. dont feel bad broden, its okay that the stems arent in good quality 😩 bear hugs 🐻
Melonie, trey...mariah in there too the remix has great background vocals as well
It was Kelly and Joe on the remix not Melonie and Trey
You found the playback track with the mute parts for the live vocals
I still can't believe you didn't do fourth of july
I only have a set of remix files for that song not the full original session. Is it something you would want to hear anyway? I could definitely do it.
@@luffegun i definitely would love it!! Or you could do Underneath the stars
you should do "no tears left to cry"!
Can you do Mariah Carey ft Megul - #beautiful
MELONIE DANIELS AND Tray Lorenz
did you ever get the anytime you need a friend stems?
This isn't the real Raw track for this song. I feel there are more channels than in the real recording and it has absolutely no background vocals 🤨
I’ve been told it could be a version for live performances and/or lip syncing with live backing vocals. Either way still really cool to hear if!
Overprotected @ Everytime by Britney pls
Not my favorite song but the bridge and climax arrangement are ace! Thanks for the breakdown. Always cool to see how many layers it takes to reconstruct these tracks.
Judas by Lady Gaga pls!

I do not remember any whistles being there.... i dont think they made it to the final version
Also i always skip this song anyway ☠️
Those whistles she used for some of her live performances, like the American Music Awards.
omg you skip it?!
@@user-pj5us2xz2p nothing you can do about tasteless lambs.
I don't remember the growl in the phrase "Stand there and say" either
