Trusting the music within you | Monica Buckland | TEDxNewnham

Music is within everyone, and we show it in everything we do. Monica Buckland shows that your physical presence can be translated into music, regardless of how 'musical' you think you are. If you know this, you can begin to recognise the power of your own body, and the way you 'conduct' the way you interact with the world.
The British / Swiss conductor Monica Buckland has been based on Tyneside since 2016, following her return to the UK after 25 years in Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Germany. She originally trained as an opera conductor but has gone on to enjoy a wide-ranging career, from guest concerts with orchestras such as the Tonhalle Zurich, through conducting ballet at the Semperoper Dresden, to conducting the backing orchestra for a rock group. She has worked with both professional and amateur orchestras and choirs, and has recorded for CD and radio.

This is so fascinating...I've always loved watching the conductor ...because it's like watching music being carved in space...watching a conductor helps guide the listener as well as the musicians...thank you for so generously letting us inside your art....and how we are music and how people create music in the world, just by living....love your laugh, Monica Buckland!!!
