I will try to do this same procedure to avoid bubbles. What I have done when a thermostat does not open, is to let the car rest overnight. There, the reservoir lowers the level and it looks like the bubble will magically go away. I liked this funnel, I don't know if I can find an equal here in Brazil. Congratulations on the excellent video.
Overnight trick works very often. Also, there is a bleed screw just above the thermostat (alen key). Good luck with your project.

I'm fighting this myself, bought off amazon, no o ring gasket with the thermostat, had to travel 20 miles to get an o ring gasket. Turns out still leaked , I'm starting over and ordering a Gates tstat WITH the gasket. Also be sure to PRESS in the tstat with the pin up then attach housing, first try I put in loose and tstat didnt sit right. Good luck
@@Ken3Dguy sorry for all your troubles. I don't know why but quite a few thermostats come with no gasket, just stupid.

Quick question i have a 2012 and have no heat besides when the fan kicked on once it seemed to work but stopped blowing heat when the fan kicked off. Ive changed the thermostat twice to no avail.. any pointers?
That sounds super weird. Heat to the cab should not depend on the thermostat, it is a separate circuit from the rad. Check hoses going to the heater core. Track how far hot coolant gets and where it stops. It sounds like coolant is going to the core only when system is super hot and under higher pressure.... might be a good idea to flush your heater core and hoses going to it.
Does a bad thermostat mean no heat when idle? Because in order for me to get heater i have to be driving.
Bad (always open) thermostat means that coolant is flowing through the radiator all the time and cools down in it. As a result it takes much more time for vehicle to warm up. Good thermostat stays closed until the temperature in the engine and your heater core reaches 90° C and only them opens letting coolant flow through the radiator.
When you drive the engine operates at higher RPMs and warms up quicker
I have a v6 I change everything on it , engine is still overheating , please do you have an advise for me or do I have to bleed the system if yes, how I can do it
That sucks. Does your thermostat open? Usually leaving car for a night to cool down, helps with the trapped air. If it doesn't, see if there are any bleed screws, also try squeeze all the hoses while car is running. Please let me know how it goes.
Where you able to put the rubber ring on the thermostat,i couldnt..The old one did not have it! Do it really needs it?.
Thanks for the questions. Yes, rubber seal is necessary to install. It will leak without it.
Hi man, nice to share man! i've question, if you press from upper side of thermostat with ur hand, is the spring elastic or not? I bought a new thermostat, but my mechanic told me it was a factory defect cos the spring is not elastic when he try to push spring with hand.. however, when its try to boil it with water, it opens when the water boils
If you push on the plate that is attached to the spring on the rubber seal side it supposed to go down and create a gap. But the best way to test thermostat is to place it in the boiling water and see if it opens. There are many videos on RUclips how to do that. Hopefully this helps.
What symptoms did the car had to lead to flush the coolant liquid and replace the thermostat ?
It is just a part of regular maintenance. Coolant must be changed every 5-6 years.

@@itriedyourrecipe8646 thermostat usually lasts up to 8 years, so it is just convenient to change it at the same time, so you don't need to drain your coolant again when thermostat fails. I always change thermostat when I change coolant. Usually they are cheap and easy to change.
Those oem factory suzuki thermostats last even in cold nordic conditions easily 20 years in my personal experience if you have just changed coolant regulary. Often if you replace it with cheap aftermarket part you only get problems.

It is regular no-colour ( slightly yellow) Preston coolant.
G11 is totally the wrong coolant. G12 organic is what that car engine needs !!!!!!!!!!!!
