This was the R&B Avengers! One of the greatest collaborations ever!
Black Men United is not an official group but is a collective of some of the greatest male voices in R&B including Tevin Campbell, El Debarge, Christopher Williams, Brian McKnight, Gerald Levert, Stokely (of Mint Condition), Aaron Hall, Joe, the members of After 7 and Boyz II Men, that RKelly guy, among many others. They came together to record this inspirational song for the Jason's Lyric movie soundtrack. There is a video of them performing this Live somewhere on here. Classic song written by D"Angelo and his younger brother, Luther.
Dino from H-Town is in the video also Raphael from Toni Tone Tone
🤣 I knew somebody was going to break it down. 💯
I always loved this song
We were so spoiled with vocal talent in the 90s! And the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
@@brynneholt1990 -- not spoiled, BLESSED! That's why we can tell what's out there now is not music!
@@brynneholt1990 Preeeach!!! You had to be able to sing back in the day unless you was a pretty boy, like Al B Sure, or fine as baby hair like a lot of female so-called singers.
This song had so much talent on it ..it is CRAZY 🔥
Tim said, "Feels like you're eating some soul food listening to this song" < You are ABSOLUTELY correct and I LOVE you said that!😍
Facts. I can taste the collards and candied yams just listening to this.
Where my corn bread at!
I used to get in my feelings and cry when I’d listen to these Men go in on this song.
Black men united wasn't an official group but they were all the black singers that came together for this amazing song 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
My brother 8th grade class sung this for graduation- I love this song. My brother is 40 now
This joint is on the Jason’s Lyric soundtrack. I always liked it. It’s good for the soul!
Love that movie and soundtrack!
I am an old white Canadian and when I found the song a year or 2 ago I said why is it not still played especially during black history month look at the message it is sending all these beautiful black young men singers getting together for the better good that's an incredible message
Well said!
@@gjslaughter thank you and it's a long weekend here in Canada for Queen Victoria's birthday so blessings
One of my favourite songs of the 90’s 👌🏼In fact the whole 'Jason's Lyric' soundtrack is pretty bangin
This song is so good. Part of the sound track from Jason Lyrics which stars Allen Payne and Jada Pinkett
I remember this song. I cried tears of joy because this song gave us hope ❤
Thank you Tim for reacting to this song. It's for our brothers encouraging them to stay strong. These artists are powerful singers that have talent without synthesizers.
This is the Black Men's Anthem back in the day and it still stands today!!
This different black men artist coming together to kick knowledge and hope to black men.
When you down....play it!!
See if you can name some of the artist...oh Boyz to Men in there too
The guy who starts singing 1st is Tevin Campell - Check out his song called "Can We Talk"
The 2nd guy singing is El Debarge. You played his older brothers group called SWITCH "I call your name" on your channel. Then later on they formed a group with brothers and sister called Debarge
The soulful guy is Gerald Levert
Mannnn I can't name all these great black men singers!!!
He also reacted to DeBarge’s “I Like It”
There was Boyz to Men, Joe, Brian McKnight, after 7, Aaron hall, Damien Hall, lil Joe and the Rude boys,Al b sure, Keith sweat, usher, D’Angelo, portrait, Stokely, Dwayne and Raphael Wiggins,Christopher Williams and H town, probably missed a few that weren’t already named in the comments. Love this they look good pure fresh talent!
If you love this song then definitely check out Sounds of Blackness " optimistic"
Yes!!! It's a cold piece of work too!!!
Yes!! I love that song also
Many of the artists you've reacted to are in this song - Tevin Campbell, R Kelly, Boyz to Men, Aaron Hall from the group Guy, Htown, etc, etc.
Within the same time frame that this song came out, many of the women r&b artists of the time (SWV, Mary J Blige, Aaliyah, En Vogue, Queen Latifah, etc) came together and did a song called, "Freedom." (It was the theme song to a movie called Panther). If you get the chance, you should check it out.
This song had so many popular artists from the 90's coming together for a positive message! Some of my favorite's are: Tevin Campbell, Boyz to Men, Toni, tone, Tony, R.Kelly & Brian McKnight.👍😍
Beautiful song that I can't believe is almost 30 years old! I remember it well! Such talent in one space...makes me sad that today's music, you can't find artists like this. R&B was strong in the 90s with such diverse artists.
Man, this song still gives me chills. Such a great collaboration from the top male R&B talent of the time: Aaron Hall, After 7, Al B. Sure!, Boyz II Men, Brian McKnight, Christopher Williams, D.R.S., El DeBarge, the late great Gerald Levert, H-Town, Intro, Joe, Keith Sweat, Rude Boys, Portrait, Silk, Stokley Williams/Mint Condition, Tevin Campbell, Raphael Saadiq/Tony! Toni! Toné!, Usher, and he who I won't name (also produced it). A young D'Angelo wrote it (before he dropped his own project). Such a great song and time capsule.,
You forgot D'Angelo he playing the piano and he wrote this not the other
@@mslanette1972ify Oops, you're right! Edited, thank you. (I also forgot Aaron Hall!)
I love this song sound like a Gospel song , I see many artist in this video and this song is in a movie “ Jason Lyrics great movie with Jada Pickettt Smith and Alan Payne🔥🔥🔥🔥
This song puts me in the same space as the song Optimistic. I played it before getting out of my car to go into work. I lifted my head off the steering wheel, dried my tears, held on and made it 🙌🏽💚 🙂
💯🙌🏿🙌🏿
This song still gives me chills...all black male artists came together for this song! So great!!! Superstars on this song, egos checked at the door! Check out when they performed this live at an awards show! This was from the soundtrack to the movie "Jason's Lyric".
You need to get a pencil and paper and write down the names of all the singers in this collaboration. This is an Allstar group.
Woooahhh i would have never expected you to listen to this one! Classic. I looove this song. Underated. This was written by a young D'Angelo along with his brother Luther, sung by d’angelo, boyz ii men, brian mcknight, aaron hall, tevin campbell, rkelly, gerald levert, h-town, el debarge, keith sweat, christopher williams, joe, etc.
Never heard it before absolutely love it it's going on my playlist the meaning is powerful their voices are amazing beautiful ✌️❤️💯

Right! Sooooo glad to finally see the reaction to this gem.
Thanks 👍🏼. We were on the same page. I wish Dom and Fred could have reacted with Tim.
Me tooooo
Same here. At nauseum sometimes. Just wish it was the live performance from the '95 AMA.
Great movie (Jason's Lyric) and besides above the rim, might be the best movie soundtrack there is 👌🏾
Grew up on this song! Happy to see a new generation appreciating it and it's message. Had u singing the hook by the end and everything 😂🙏🏾👌🏾👍🏾👏🏾👊🏾
Beautiful powerfull, love all the voices. Stay strong brothers. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿💪🏿💖💥♥️
They killed this song with these vocals. Love it

You should check out the live performance they did on The American Music Awards. Tevin Campbell shows out during that performance.
Lmao…Yup, he showed off to the point he was off key😂 and I love his voice💯
This version was good but it does not come close to the live version on American music awards I totally agree I can't tell you how many people I've forwarded it to and how many times I've listened to it it just is beautiful and I'm an old white woman and I find it very powerful and inspiring
CRUSHED IT
Can’t forget mr mfking STOKLEY he wasn’t playing any games
It's almost a similar themed song all female r&b artists called "Freedom" Panther soundtrack 1995. R&B version...there's also a rap version all female rappers song called "Freedom"
Yes!!
I was coming on here to say that. Again. Lol. I've been asking for "Freedom" . It still fits. It's on my playlist.
In the live performance, Usher was super excited snatching the mic lol 😂😂😂. I absolutely love this song
Another uplifting song that deserves a listen is Hold On(Change Is Coming) by Sounds Of Blackness
This song has made me realize that when you felt like giving up on yourself; otherwise, Don't ever give up on yourself, your dreams, and your hope. Keep your head up, keep up the faith, and never stop believing.
New to me....Came into my life at just the right time. Thank you Tim for such a meaningful reaction, and a special thank you to the person who suggested this beautiful song!🙏🏼🙏🏼
This song was put together and it was added to the soundtrack for the movie Jason‘s lyric. When I first saw the song I just cried with joy and sorrow at the same time. I love my people and wish I could do more to uplift all of us and especially are black men. They just not play this song enough on the radio. Is the message for your generation and generations to come. We need all of our black men to be united.
Jason's Lyric soundtrack. It's on Pluto TV now...Classic movie
U right I only have few substitute but greatful I love this song💯❤🔥
Facts it's a banger and from my generation 80's baby
If it's easy you'll never appreciate it. Loving your gifts.
I recall some of your first videos...I admired your innocense, open mind, and enthusiasm to music. You have already filled your dreams....1 million is right around the corner. Congrats my little bro!
Dammit this song always makes me🥲
I listen to this song over and over for motivation back in day.
I am late but I knew you would like it!! So many great artists!! Stand tall and don't you fall, and U Will KNOOOOOOWWWWWW
The live version is even better. ✔️ it out
What people also fail to recognize in my opinion is how amazing it was that all these young men come together and work together for a greater good no personalities no egos just all working together they were showing you how to go from boys 2 men
Just my opinion but I think this is the next best inspirational song behind "We Are the World".
The movie Jason Lyrics that had this contract is a classic
Black Men United was like a We Are The World collective of brothas! Individual R&B artists united as one. U may recognize some or check them out individually later.
I requested this....thank you so much‼️🗣💯
💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃 ooh!! the talent!!
It is still relevant today!!!
You'll probably enjoy the LIVE performance of 🎶U Will Know🎶even more! And the movie that it supports, Jason's Lyric.
Powerful song, and what you said about getting one sub a day. I well remember that! It took me 5 months to hit 100, after that it picked up slowly, but another year to bust the 1,000 mark. 😎
This song is so encouraging. I'm glad you pulled this one out. I was feeling so down and listening to this just made me sing and smile. "Your dreams ain't easy, you must stick by your plan". Yes sir! Always loved this song.❤️
NOW I GOTTA GO WATCH JASONS LYRIC

So many uplifting words coming from you 🥰
Finally!! Been asking you 2 to watch this for over a YEAR now!!
Too bad you didn't react to the RIGHT version.
From the 1995 American Music Awards!
SO MANY talented male voices on the SAME stage!! Plus clearly you don't recognize ANY of the guy's in this video.
There a LEGENDS in this video, some are still w/us, some have passed on. While others have fallen from grace or the spotlight.
If you get a chance please look for it!
Soundtrack albums from the 90’s were all bangers. This is from Jason’s Lyric. You should also check out songs from the Get on the Bus soundtrack, Best Man and, of course, Waiting to Exhale. Great advice to your subscribers, Tim. This song is definitely uplifting and so are you!
