New Edition is the cornerstone. All three of these guys wanted to make a side project and Bell Biv Devoe was the result. Later, in Philadelphia, some ambitious high schoolers went backstage at a concert hoping to find Will Smith and sing for him. Instead they bumped into "Biv" Michael Bivins and he was so impressed he became their manager and producer. That was Boyz II Men. Edit: In Boyz II Men's Motownphilly, the last lyric is ABC BBD. A shout out to Bell Biv Devoe and Another Bad Creation, another kid's group discovered by Bivins.

Straight facts. My bff Keisha and I would sing this song on our elementary school bus 🤦♀️😂 not knowing what we were singing about. She knew all the background to every group and I soaked it all in. I miss the late 80's and early 90's.

Hehe, I remember on our Senior trip, we was bumpin' this on the bus, and I was mackin' on this one girl, and there was this other girl who was into me and hatin' on the girl I was kickin' it to. She was pointing to her singing along with the song saying, "That girl is poisoooon!" LOL. I caught her doing that from the corner of my eye. Too funny.
The NJS sound originated thru super producer Teddy Riley who created the sound. Keith Sweat was his 1st NJS solo artist. In no particular order Bobby Brown, Al B Sure, The group called Guy, Wrecks n Effect, Christopher Williams and others. He was on the brink of creating a NJS/R&B like empire. Poison did not bring NJS 2 the mainstream. It was already there b4.

New edition is one of the only groups that could do a versus with just themselves
For SURE!!!🙋🏾♀️🤩
Absolutely the truth!
You ain’t never lied!
I’d watch
💯
How about Digital Underground "The Humpty Dance"? That was the JAM in 1990! And anything Technotronic sang was awesome. "Pump Up The Jam" got everyone out on the dance floor. You guys have got to react to both of these!!!! I was a junior in high school at this time and these songs bring me such good memories. PLEASE!!!!!
Pretty sure they did the Humpty dance.
I requested this awhile ago🙌🏼
My fav to dance to was diamond girl
Great suggestions!
You should see how they danced to this song. A legend
I was waiting on y’all reaction when Ricky Bell stated singing “It’s Driving Me Outta My Mind” at 2:29. 😄😄😄
Y’all have got to see the actual video cause it’s so good.
That part always hits hard! 😊❤️
@@natashaabdurahman4026 ALWAYS!
Y'all gotta watch the video to the song. The dance moves are crazy. BBD killed it.
And then Some🇬🇧💥
They're doing exactly what we used to do in the club to this song- SO GOOD!!!
I’ll keep saying it, I love when young people discover our music and fall in love with it, after hearing just the first few seconds of it. This is how our generation of music was/is something special.
I'd like to see a Puffy " I'll Be Missing You" reaction then play the REAL song, by The Police.
Tennessee by Arrested Development. I grew up in the heyday of New Jack swing and 90s hip hop, and you seriously cannot miss that one. It’s my all-time favorite.
I second that. One of my favorites from the 90’s. Also People Everyday.
YESSSS!
I can still sing every note and it's just as prescient if not more so. Please listen to this one, my dudes!
In case you haven’t seen it yet, they just put up a video for Tennessee! ❤️
Yaaas
Turned my daughter onto this song I’m in my 50s, it was my favorite when I was in college. it’s her favorite, transcends all generations
"Never trust a big butt and a smile " life advice that still stands true today!
Best line!
Factual
And every guy still falls for…
That's the song that played at every middle school and high dance for years after it dropped, but you were still hyped about it.
Yes! That and ‘Supersonic’.
@@Squirrels_On_Film Oh, don’t even GO there!! 😂😂😂 That was my cut!!!
@@Ivy94F Right?! It had EVERYBODY singing along!
Fun time to be alive with this music. ❤ " Never trust a big butt and a smile" lol best line
Yup this is one of those classics that everyone sings when it comes on!!!
“ Never trust a big butt and a smile“ words to live by young bucks
Y’all should know BBD were the trend setters back in the day bringing that new jack swing sound in the 90s mixed with there R & B and rap lyrics they started all that shit they also was trend setters with the clothing people is wearing today is what they started wearing back in the 90s that people is still rocking today is insane these guys are legends
They would bring the house down with this song on stage. They even performed this song at a farewell concert at the WH for Obama. He was jamming. Lol
The whole room was.
😊✌💙
I saw it live about 8 years ago. It was absolutely epic. Brought down the staple center for sure.
@@blackelf23
That had to be a great time. I know you had fun. 😊✌💙
New Edition- “COOL IT NOW” 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I forgot how good this song is!! Man that was fun hearing it again through ya'lls ears! Peace and love to all of you! ✌❤
Glad to see you guys enjoy this song so much! Imagine how it was for us back in the day? At that time, there was nothing on the radio like this. It was a totally new type of sound that combined Hip-Hop And R&B genres with a funkified glue. Let me tell y'all, we was all jammin' to this track then. It was pure fiyah! :)
WBP: Your comment nailed It!
As Fred would say yes sir 😎
New Jack Swing!!! Fire.
Funkified glue 🤣‼️...❤️it🔥
Oh Yeah🕺🏾
Good to see you over here J AKA J !! Luv ya
I bet you're understanding how we older folks feel watching you react to our music. These young guys hearing Poison. Lol
As always, brother, I hope you and yours are doing fine.
Much love to you, Brother J! ✌❤😊🎶
Love your channel too💕
Brother Jamel! ❤🤩❤
I’m glad y’all loved this! I’m 16 again every time I hear it. Dancing and singing every word.
That song is over 30 years old. Happy to see you’re still rocking it. Love your show guys.
Picture it. 60 year old husband and 50 year old me dancing. Wooten! Now we rubbing the arthritis cream on. We was back in the day for a minute! Thanks you guys!🤣😃
You guys have the best reactions for reals. Im 49 and love all the songs you choose. Keep doing what you’re doing because you have a fan for life. It’s 4 am and I’ve been listening to you guys since 11pm lol. From Phil Collins to The Fugees. Man I can’t get enough. Can’t wait to listen to more. “He end it like that” lol.
Oooohhh... this will be good... 💕💕🤠💕💕

@@funniebunnie4u I'm telling you, I'm not sure if I could have survived Covid and post-George Floyd if it wasn't for these two. The whole internet was so toxic and nasty and hostile in 2020, I couldn't deal with it. This was the only place left on the internet for good people to get together and connect.
That's why your point is true to the core, we have to protect them!!!! Besides, the Twins naivety is to precious to destroy and too much fun for us!!!
Twin army unite! We got their backs!
@@AvaniParekhsocent Right, Right!!! The followers of the Twins Page have probably been the most Multi-Cultural, peace loving group of people in Social Media/Internet history, but if somebody try to take away or silence the Twins, we gonna have to "hurt somebody"!!!!
I was born in the middle of Gen-X, so I appreciate these young 21-22 year olds learning about our music, but my goodness they make me feel old. Especially, after that Ice Cube comment about how they knew him as an actor not a rapper.😒😂
Same here. But at least we got to experience the awesome 80's and 90's.
Like a swift kick in the nads!! 😖😩😖😥
It hurts doesn't it? I feel ancient, but i love that they loved it!!
I'm 21 years old and I'm so shocked that they don't know. I thought this was culture. But maybe I know because my parents are old and my dad turns on the radio as soon as he wake up.
The more you listen to "old school" the more you will hear ols songs being sampled in the "new" stuff.. everything old is new again Boyz 🤣😍🥰💕
I'm still stuck in the 90s. Love it!!🔥🔥🔥
New Edition is the cornerstone.
I always wondered what ABC BBD meant!
These guys have actually did a reaction to 3 Boys to Men songs. One ABC song , 2 NE SONGS, and Bobby Brown and they still havnt made the connections. I be reading the comments making sure someone is skooln em.
Omg never knew this!! Thank you so much for this info!
@@VeenaMichelle here's another one. Boyz II Men named themselves after "Boys to Men", a song by New Edition.
Straight facts. My bff Keisha and I would sing this song on our elementary school bus 🤦♀️😂 not knowing what we were singing about. She knew all the background to every group and I soaked it all in. I miss the late 80's and early 90's.
This is a cut with a perfect example of what is called a rolling bass line. Genius
So glad I grew up when I did!:) The way y’all reacted is how WE reacted EVERY time the DJ spun it!
Cabbage patching in a Metallica tee. Can’t get any better. 😍
I agree!!!!
Lmao I was reading this at the exact moment dude started to do that 🤣
I'm a 48 year woman and I completely enjoyed watching you guys listen to this song. This was the sh*t back in the day. LOVE this song.
59 yrs old and I love listening and dancing to this while getting ready in the morning. Can't move slow. The head sets beats better than buds.
This song was such a monster hit back in the day!!! This was my high school days. Such a fun time! Too funny.
My husband downloaded this off Napster back in the day and it’s on rewind in my car…love this!
Heavy D and the Boys ... *Now that we've found Love*. You gotta do that one.
I have been requesting this for a long time. Glad you enjoyed my jam! Bell Biv & DeVoe were members of New Edition.
One of THE best albums from the 90s. Again the remix was just as good. Never trust a big butt and a smile!
This is the New Jack Swing sound. The sound was around for a bit before this, but this song brought it to the mainstream.
@@juliemcdaniel499 they need to do some AlB!
@@juliemcdaniel499 Exactly New Jack Swing cane out hard with I Want Her by Keith Sweat, and Groove Me by Guy.
@@magra453 yes the hell it did. Right along with KS, BB, Al B, CW, W-n-E, the group called Today and whoever else. Man that era was 🔥. The kind of era "THE TWINS" would've ❤ esp Tim lol.
