I'm kindof amazed JayVeeTV didn't grow up hearing all this music as a kid. I was a kid of the 70-80 graduated hs in 88, but I got a heavy dose of 50s-70s music from my parents and their siblings. I rocked out to Nirvana and GNR in college, but I grew up on Elvis, Zep, Fats Domino, Blondie, Stones, ELO. It as if the younger generations didn't have a musical history much beyond their generation. It's odd.
All 3 are still members of New Edition. They've been performing since they were 12 years old w/Ralph Tresvant & Bobby Brown then Johnny Gill at 19 when Bobby left. Now all 6 of them still tour together as New Edition.
So these are members of New Edition! When the group decided to do their on thing, they decided to be a trio and it was on from there. Also, Michael Bivens discovered Boyz II Men

What an era that was. Man, that was a dicey time to be in. That was pretty much the start of it all over there. . . I remember we went into Kuwait, and we pretty much never left the region. We're still over there today. I bet San Diego was awesome back in the early 90s. It's still a great place.

Such a cool song! Amazing that’s the first time you’ve heard it! The vocals are incredible. Definitely was a 90’s mega hit. Cool to see it still translates
All of them are from New Edition. The main lead si gers went solo, and no one thought they could do anything without them. So they formed their own group and proved them wrong. New Edition has so much talent in one group. Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, Johnny Gill, and Bell Biv DeVoe. Had hits solo and together.
3 members of New Edition. This song plus anything by Kid & Play had me looking like a wet rat leaving the party. My hair was completely destroyed by the time I got ready to leave. We danced hard back then. Good times!
When I worked in the mall in 1990. I worked at a store called 'Silverman's', it was a young man's store (older teenager to late 20's early 30's). It was a really cool store. The clothes that you see in the video, is what we sold. That being said. Our soundtrack was the most amazing sound tract EVER!!! We listened to all kinds of dance/club mixes that you can think of. And whenever a great song came on, we would crank it up!! And this was one of the songs. My co-workers and I would start dancing and some of the time, some of the mall shoppers would stand outside our door and start dancing with us....lol..... Great times in the early 90's. This has always been on favorite song!!
“never trust a big butt and a smile” Lol. I played this on repeat lol It brings the joy every time. I used to do “the running man” to this lol I AM OLD. Oh well
These three members (Ricky Bell, Mike Bivens, and Ronnie Devoe) of New Edition really had a huge hit with this song! They took a little hiatus from NE to do something different. Mike Bivens was the genius behind their sound along with the groups, ABC and Boys to Men!! This was the jam in 1990 when it was release and I still crank it up! ❤️❤️

I'm so glad you found this Video. The Three Guys Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins & Ronnie Devoe are part of New Edition which was an Outside Project. Yes all three of them were in New Edition, and boy were we jamming to this! 😁 in 90s, 00s, 10s, this tune is a pure classic! It's one of the biggest New Jack Swing tunes ever and watching you smile and move is exactly how we all felt back in the day 😀 New Jack Swing was one of the most amazing RnB sub genres. I was lucky to live through it. It was invented by Teddy Riley and characterized by mixture of hip hop baselines with smooth RnB singing or harmonies, a mandatory rap stint and a beat that you simply cannot resist dancing to. "Running man" dance style sure kept us skinny back then 😁 New Jack Swing moves are unique and easily recognised, and back in the day, it was an awesome picture of synchronised dancing in the clubs where a person will start and others would try and join in. The whole New Jack era is also characterised by high top fades and brightly coloured clothing, and put together with dancing beats it simply made us super happy. It was all about parties and house parties. It had a good run from around 1986 to 1993 when new RnB era of Hip Hop Soul started in 1992 and took over. (Much slower bpm wise, but another awesome era).
