- After a few weeks of hard work, I have finally made my custom #ESP32 #Mercedes 722.6 (NAG52) TCM change gears! Watch the video to find out how quickly it can change! - No more sloppy shifting!!

EDIT: I want to try something, and might need your help! I want to see if its possible to get the attention of other youtuber's such as @LegitStreetCars with AMG Mercs to try this TCM once I have finished more of its code, as I don't have direct access to any high-performance cars with the 722.6 gearbox!, plus I do plan on adding a race mode to this TCM for the sole purpose of making drag racing cars with this gearbox slightly faster 😉!

Dude I'm coming back to this video a year later and this channel is still criminally underrated. Awesome work. I currently run OFGear and it's a real big headache. Constant speed reading errors in my w210 even with an external speed sensor. Also the 1->2 bangs into gear no matter how low I set the shift RPM or firmness.
hey! Yeah, OFGear is good for people who want to be crazy with their gearboxes, but not 100% designed for comfort. Have a look at my recent launch video and see how smoothly the gearbox shifts in my E55
Your box probably needs to be rebuilt. My ofgear 722.6 works perfectly.
@@craigk5452 nah, the box is fine, I've heard others experience it too. It shifted perfectly fine before ofgear was installed.

I have been following your work for almost a year and I'm fascinated what have you done till now and I hope you will conitinue on this project Because I think there is so much potential in this car. I have a couple of questions:
1. Is it possible to use this TCM in a car that was manual to turn into an automatic or does it require more electronics to function?
2.
Since I see that you managed to access the speedometer is it possible to activate the needle sweep? Because nowhere on the internet did I find that someone did it with the W203.
Btw We may be the same age, but you are my idol, you inspired me to order diagnostics for myself (Openport 2.0 Tactrix) and to solve the problems myself.

Not the original creator but I can answer your first question. No a computer attached to the car cannot automatically shift a conventional H-pattern manual. If you’d like automatic shifting you’d either have to put time effort and money into changing out the transmission or buy a car with an automatic.
Good shit man! I sadly totalled my C240 last week, only a few weeks after successfully sending/receiving on CAN B to do neat stuff (I'm completely fine btw, just loved Cadey so much 😢). My w203 kept me safe af in a rollover, so I'll definitely be getting another soon. Thanks again for all the work you do on these cars.

You explain how the gear shifting. But what made the gear shifting up and down ? Rpm sensors in side the gear . Or rpm from engine ecu ?
How will this affect longevity of the transmission?

that your said in another video is not true st10 processor can be easily dump and reprogrammed. the fault was on mercedes that not updated the firmware.... not saying it will not work just so you know. i work a lot with chiptuning... nice work!
I never said it COULDN'T be reprogrammed, I just said it was too hard for average user to do so :) (USB plug and play is far simpler!)
Also it still stands that ST10 CPU is hot garbage in comparison to ESP32 in terms of performance!
@@RANDASH its easy you just need an usb to can interface then put in boot mode. Install st10flasher and edit maps with winols...probably more expansive than build another ecu. Pretty hardcore. Glad worked..
I have one that I have believed has gone bad constant communication error everything on the car checks out do I need to get the replacement programmed or can I get the numbers to match and just install it

I have an old W211 E270 I’m debating on remapping and remapping the gearbox on.
Could you make a stand alone controller for me ??? I have an OM606 engine fitted to the gearbox in a Land Rover . Manual pump not electronic . Regards Rob

If I understand correctly, these controllers work on 722.6's with the "manumatic" mode? Not the older ones from 95-00 without "manual" mode?

Yes, this TCM is only designed for the 2000+ vehicles with CAN, not the earlier 1995 and older Mercs. For that look at other projects like ofgear!
In terms of pricing, I'm hoping for 300GBP-400GBP range, however I haven't actually sorted everything out yet. The TCM connector is proving to be impossible to find so I keep having to salvage it from other TCMs (Which becomes very expensive very quickly). Once everything is ready for production there will be a video on it!

To be fair, not that many people use the pre-00 boxes for their projects anyway. Unless they keep their engines stock and want a TCM-upgrade. Most people opt for a mid 2000s CDI or AMG box. So in reality, I think this could be huge! Especially at your mild price tag!
Oh you mean about the box itself? Any 722.6 will work! But the vehicle the TCM lives in has to be 2000+!

why have so many of the 722.6 the 3-4 flare while upshift at high load in manual mode?? I have this in my 996 Turbo and It is really annoying....

Hello, your truth table at 0:52 shows no TCC on 1st gear. I have the EGS53 on my 2012 Jeep it definitely does engage TCC in 1st, unless this is a fault and there is an internal leak in the TC between 2 of the paths causing a lock up in error. Anyhow, I don't know how to contact you directly, sorry. I'll apply for your beta testing for when you're ready to widen out to non Merc.

7 and 9G TCU is inside the transmission itself rather than an external TCU like 5G. Making a ceramic PCB to go inside the transmission conductor plate costs thousands!
The TCC is rarely ever fully engaged, correct? Care to explain under what conditions the TCC is fully engaged?
I also can tell you first-hand that one some vehicles, the 722.6 DOES adapt (to some degree) to fluid temp. In one case, on the W163, the EGS will drop you from 5th to 4th and keep you there (or it seems as low as 3rd sometimes) when the trans gets really hot. I have discovered this as I have done a LOT of towing across various ML-class while watching live data on STAR/SDS.
