Nigel, thanks for your channel during 2020. In some respects, it was a bummer of a year, but when I view your videos, I realise that time flows on without consideration to any eventualities. You've made the most of 2020 and brought me joy in doing so.

The way you talked about the Guardian reminded me of the Ents from The Lord of the Rings. I appreciate how you shared with us the sometimes-hit-or-miss quality of dealing with the fog and the scenes you want to shoot. As you said, “That’s photography!” In your videos you seem to invite us into the experience of the location while you are coaching us on how to approach the composition. Love these photos! Thank you.

I think the thanks should go to you, Nigel, for 2020. For the incredible variety of vlogs with stunning drone footage, the landscape photography competition to raise money for a good cause, adapting to lockdown with weekday videos and the 5in5, the inspiration from beautiful locations, and -- always -- taking the time to explain and teach. So thank YOU for 2020, and for bridging into 2021 with the magic you found in Madeira.

Hi Nigel. I'm just back from Madeira. WOW!! What a place! Fanal was beyond beautiful. I went twice. The first time was foggy all the way from Funchal where we were staying until around a mile from the forest then it cleared up! I was gutted. It came back in small patches lightly but it was two days later I was met with extremely dense fog. So thick in fact I struggled to find my compositions! So just had to make the most of it and avoid the bulls in my bright red waterproof coat. The locals basically told me the forecasts are very unreliable out there and Madeira just kinda does it's own thing when it wants. Sao Lourenco was another location. The forecast was amazing for sunrise but it was just extreme haze. Still got a shot but it wasn't quite what I had hoped for. Your advise in another of these videos was to keep visiting the locations time and time again and I think that was what was needed but ran out of time in the end. I would love to go again one day. All the best to you. My Pico Aireriro and Fanal pics are now on my insta page with some more to come.
