Just got one of these with 242 hours on it off my elderly neighbor. It sat for at least two years and she said I could just have it but I gave her $100 for it
Add two simple fuel shut off valves on fuel line one before and one after fuel filter. Small piece of foil under filter to channel oil flow down into catch pan, then pop a hole with a nail on bottom edge of filter followed by one on top edge to let filter drain before removing.. no to little oil mess.
I'm not sure, those filters are tiny so it wouldn't be that much. When you get down to adding your last quart of oil just add a 1/4 at a time until you get to the desired level on your dipstick. Thanks for watching and commenting.😁
If your oil is ink black, you waited too long to change it. Also change the oil filter every oil change. Those engines are expensive, and motor oil is cheap. Don't forget the air filter. Not enough air will carbon up your engine. If you can find ethanol free gasoline, use it. Ethanol pulls water out of the air, and will make a gooey blob in your carburetor bowl and corrode it. I don't even use it in my old 2000 Ford Expedition. Don't forget to grease the front wheels and the spindles. Find the 4 grease fittings & pump some grease into them. Feel all the steel idler wheels on the mowing deck, & plastic ones under the mower frame. If any feel rough as you turn them by hand, spray a LITTLE bit of WD-40 on the center of the pulleys. Then spin them around so the WD works its way inside the ball bearings. Do NOT get WD -40, or oil, on the belts, or in the V of the pulleys where the belts touch. If you have a plastic transmission be sure to blow, or vacuum, the grass clippings off the top of them. Grass packed in there causes 99% of the problems with the plastic transmissions. When the axle seals start to leak, use silicon sealant, or some caulking to seal the new seals into the transmission, since they have a tendency to work their way out of the transmission and leak grease out. Don't worry about the oil from the grease inside the transmission, that leaked out. It is full of grease from the factory. There is plenty of grease inside it. You can ignore a slight oil leak from around the axles.

I own this machine for 5 years, bought it from Lowes. Year 4th engine oil leak, year 5th hydraulic shot. I better getting new machine intead of fix it. Piece of junk machine. I would not recommend Husqvarna. I do own a Husqvarna blower and that working ok.
Had my husqvarna 46 for 8 years now. Never changed the oil, never added oil, no new oil filter, or air filter. Put gas in it and cut grass. Hah still running like a champ!
Thanks for the coaching, very helpful! I put the kit and my fuel filter was broken!
I always fold up a piece of cardboard and slide it under filters like that to catch spillage
You help me make a list of things - I will need to start. Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome!

Good advice.
I use a cut milk jug push it under the oil filter..doesn't make a mess..
Very nice video. Simple to follow. I'm buying one tomorrow with 50 miles of usage and this will help me do the mant as soon as i get it home.
