I’ve been dealing with bouts of cervical radiculopathy for close to a decade now. I woke up this morning, barely able to move my head and left shoulder. Normally it’s my right shoulder/arm. Of course it’s Saturday and my chiropractor is not open until Monday. These tips have brought a bit of relief and helped increase my range of motion a bit.
My neck and right shoulder has been bothering me for about the last six weeks. I have not been sleeping well at all. I've tried various positions to stretch my arm with only temporary relief. I observed your various maneuvers to alleviate discomfort and voila it worked. Thank you Dr.

The scalene stretch is amazing! I am in incredible pain going on five weeks now with a pinched nerve. The scalene stretch is helping to alleviate some of the pain shooting down my left arm. Will keep doing this daily and checking out your other videos as well. Thank you!
I have to say a massive thank you to you, Dr Jon. At the end of last year I started to suffer from vestibular migraines and I had a lot of vertigo that came with it. I found your vestibular exercises, I did them religiously and they helped me so, so much. Then yesterday I pained some shelves. I must have moved awkwardly and towards the end of the day I had excruciating pain in my shoulder blade, up my neck and down my arm. I slept terribly last night as I was in so much pain. I watched this video of yours this morning, followed your exercises today and I feel so much better already. I can move my neck and I can breathe without pain! So I will sleep so well tonight. Thank you so much for your knowledge and videos. You have genuinely helped me so much with two different issues and for that I am so grateful. Thank you.
Seriously, I did exactly as you advised-all three exercises repeatedly throughout the day-and I’m pain free this morning after days and days of dull ache. There are a number of videos advising on this, but yours is the best. I’m subscribing, and now I need to see what you offer for SI pain!
Going through this problem right now. If you have this pain and particularly if you have numbness in your arm and hand, get an MRI immediately. Then get physio therapy following a correct diagnosis or even surgery. Pinched nerves can lead to permanent nerve damage and should be treated as an emergency.
I felt tingling down my arm that seemed to change locations every so often, and it had been driving me nuts most of this week. I've been looking through a lot of different videos, and trying a few different exercises, but these worked really quickly and have my discomfort way down, so you have my sincere gratitude.
Same ish. I have just done about 7 of the first chin tuck / look up exercise and the tingling went away. I had ACDF surgery on levels T3 - T5 in 2015 so vigilance is key. Thanks Doctor. Instead of a pain scale of 9 I am at a comfortable 5 now and just begun. You take pain out of people's lives. That is Holy! Consider this if you ever have a "down" day.

Hi Dr Saunders I just like to point out that the last exercise with the rolled-up towel I cannot do due to my left arm / hand is very weak now so I cannot get enough strength to do it. The exercise before that one works good and with an added look down works great for me getting pain relief now. Keep the good work Doctor.
These exercises have helped me. Thank you, Dr. Jon. I watch the video every time I do the exercises just to hear you say, "One thing is certain, I know you can get better from this. DON'T GIVE UP HOPE." Very encouraging.
1) I feel one large nerve pain, which is going down the arm, when I perform the neck back chin in one. It hurts.. 2)The towel traction helped all the tension was gone like it is always so tight on the top of the shoulder height behind spine. It helped reduce pain on the stretch above. 3)Thus far, this video has been the most helpful. The way you illustrate them is so clear too. Thank you. I will look to see if you have any more on the neck.
Thamk you so much. Much love from India. I am going through this suffering for 1month. Your exercises I saw this morning..early morning . Did. Already feeling slightly relieved. God bless you. -- Preethi

This great! The traction for the neck with the towel doesn't seem to do much for me. But also, since it's my right shoulder that's affected, I don’t have a lot of strength in that arm to pull up on the towel for more than 5 to 10 seconds. Everything else really helps! Thanks!

Thanks for video. Can a pinched nerve cause a radiating pain in the back of head?
In some cases it certainly can, especially when it is in the upper neck.
Hello Dr. Jon, your videos have been so helpful. Five months ago, I had the popping, gripping sensation in my neck. To my surprise I found your great video with that title! The last three months there is not as much gripping or any noise coming from my neck, but after an Xray and MRI that my doctor ordered, I end up with moderate to severe narrowing from C3-C4 through C6-C7. Can I do these exercises that you prescribed in this video? Thank you for all your thorough explanation.
Yes, absolutely...this one will be helpful as well: ruclips.net/video/0krYvmCjVv4/видео.html

Hi Doc, i tried the side pull stretch and it seems to help bring relief. might this pain have contributed to vertigo? thx, jim
It likely wouldn't cause it, but a problem in your neck may be associated with it.
interesying Doc
Thanks!
