I’ve been dealing with bouts of cervical radiculopathy for close to a decade now. I woke up this morning, barely able to move my head and left shoulder. Normally it’s my right shoulder/arm. Of course it’s Saturday and my chiropractor is not open until Monday.
These tips have brought a bit of relief and helped increase my range of motion a bit.

Going through this problem right now. If you have this pain and particularly if you have numbness in your arm and hand, get an MRI immediately. Then get physio therapy following a correct diagnosis or even surgery. Pinched nerves can lead to permanent nerve damage and should be treated as an emergency.

I have to say a massive thank you to you, Dr Jon. At the end of last year I started to suffer from vestibular migraines and I had a lot of vertigo that came with it. I found your vestibular exercises, I did them religiously and they helped me so, so much.
Then yesterday I pained some shelves. I must have moved awkwardly and towards the end of the day I had excruciating pain in my shoulder blade, up my neck and down my arm. I slept terribly last night as I was in so much pain. I watched this video of yours this morning, followed your exercises today and I feel so much better already. I can move my neck and I can breathe without pain! So I will sleep so well tonight.
Thank you so much for your knowledge and videos. You have genuinely helped me so much with two different issues and for that I am so grateful. Thank you.

I just like to point out that the last exercise with the rolled-up towel I cannot do due to my left arm / hand is very weak now so I cannot get enough strength to do it. The exercise before that one works good and with an added look down works great for me getting pain relief now. Keep the good work Doctor.

    1) I feel one large nerve pain, which is going down the arm, when I perform the neck back chin in one. It hurts..
2)The towel traction helped all the tension was gone like it is always so tight on the top of the shoulder height behind spine. It helped reduce pain on the stretch above.
3)Thus far, this video has been the most helpful. The way you illustrate them is so clear too. Thank you.
I will look to see if you have any more on the neck.

The last three months there is not as much gripping or any noise coming from my neck, but after an Xray and MRI that my doctor ordered, I end up with moderate to severe narrowing from C3-C4 through C6-C7. Can I do these exercises that you prescribed in this video? Thank you for all your thorough explanation.

Unfortunately I cannot make that decision for you - that is something you need to discuss with your surgeon. Best of luck!

I have severe osteoarthritis in my neck I'm scheduled for a c5 c6 c7 fusion, the mri shows the vertebras pressing on the spinal cord, and I can say that the nerve pain is debilitating and my shoulders feel like torn rotator cuff cause if had one, also vertigo as bad and also have balance issues, people that have the same thing going on as me its absolutely horrific and crippling at times, so therefore severe nerve pain in the spine or cervical will absolutely wear a person completely out physically and mentally

I have cervical disc problems and I know the muscles are getting tighter in that area.
A carpal tunnel operation on one hand didn't work and now my little finger is also numb probably because I lean on my elbows too much.
I'm feeling light-headed nearly every day.

I hurt my neck and shoulder at work ( I work in a factory ) and I was approved for WSIB treatment at a local physiotherapy clinic. I did some of the stretches in this video and many more. My injury has not fixed and I am looking for additional treatment. I live in Sarnia Ontario and I would be willing to drive down for help and maybe content for you on the channel. I will call your facility now and leave a message but I need additional help if you're willing.

I appreciate your comment, but you will be able to find someone in Sarnia that can help you - look for a corrective care chiropractor...best wishes.
