      @@redefiningstrengthOC Not easy mostly because there's no such thing as lower abs. lol There is just abs. No matter which ab exercise we do it works the entire ab region. I only do reverse and hanging leg raises and my whole ab area is fully developed. Great video though.

      Hi see this is where you are right but wrong. Yes you don't have separate lower ab muscles, BUT you can activate the lower abdominal region to a great extent with certain moves. I've looked at tons of EMG studies. - redefiningstrength.com/do-you-really-have-lower-abs/

    I like how you share so many variations :) rare that a channel shares so many different exercises for the same body part - it's definitely a good thing since some people have certain injuries preventing them from performing certain exercises (e.g. people who have injured wrists can't do the hanging leg raises but can perform the other exercises you showed.

    • @redefiningstrengthOC
      @redefiningstrengthOC  7 лет назад +1

      Thank you! Totally agree! I try to give options also because sometimes people don't have the experience or mind-body connection to do something to work an area so they can then try a different move to make sure their abs are actually working :-)

    • @redefiningstrengthOC
      @redefiningstrengthOC  8 лет назад +3

      Hi Prashant! Thank you so much and best of luck as you open your space! So do you need links of current videos I have or you are looking for ones specifically for beginners? Honestly I generally use the moves I share here with every level and just break them down as needed. For instance, when teaching the swing, I'll break it down and even use the modified hinge in the kettlebell leg video from last week....I'll try to think of some things though for beginners. It may sound weird, but with beginners it isn't so much different movements, but really just taking the time to coach through the fundamentals :-) Hope that helps! If you have any other questions, let me know!

    Hello Cori, Ive been learning lots from ur tutorials, I think your
    presentations are probably the best that I'm subsribed to.
    I have a PT client who is obese. We cannot do jumping or running, as he
    so big he has trouble walking.
    I'm starting with basketball, me feeding him the ball, to shoot baskets.
    This way we can exercise the upper body and create a fun exercise
    routine.
    I was also thinking about him lying on his back and doing leg exercises,
    and then upper body weights. We are working outside until he's ready to
    go to a gym.
    Can you do a video for extreme over-weighted people, and suggest some
    low impact exercises, or suggest a good source I can look at.
    Many thanks

    • @redefiningstrengthOC
      @redefiningstrengthOC  8 лет назад +4

      So med ball drills are great. I wouldn't have him lie on his back. That generally isn't so recommended although not horrible I guess if on a bench. I would have him squat to a box or bench. Do standing glute activation with bands. Seated exercises are awesome too. Like off a park bench even. Pressing the ball or a med ball. Pressing weights. Leg raises. Those are all options. Interesting idea too for the video!

    • @redefiningstrengthOC

      Some will tell you to keep a neutral spine. You never want to intentional arch. I think it is key when mastering leg lower movements to also know how to control the posterior pelvic tilt as that is also a function of our glute max.

    is it acceptable to use Protein powder ? what is your protein source ?

    • @redefiningstrengthOC
      @redefiningstrengthOC  7 лет назад +1

      I recommend whole natural foods as much as possible, but do believe in having protein powder available for a quick snack! I eat lots of chicken and lean ground beef and even greek yogurt. I do use protein powder in smoothies and treats too!

    • @freshapplenews5076

      any protein sources for a person considering to turn in to a vegan ? which protein powder you use ? if a person relies solely on chicken as protein source ,how many grams of chicken is advisable to eat in a day ? 300 grams or more than that ?

    • @redefiningstrengthOC
      @redefiningstrengthOC  7 лет назад

      Keep them as whole natural as possible. Quinoa, beans, whatever you can. I don't really personally agree with being vegan but will try to have my vegan clients use whatever protein they want and give them as many protein sources that are as natural as possible. I recommend these tips to focus on protein - The amount of grams is based on your weight and needs.

    You shouldve/couldve explained the "hollow body/back against the floor" thing😕 ive just come across this concept only 2 days ago and its typically one of these crucial advice we never (too rarely) hear about... If it wasnt for this information, i wouldve jumped to these exercices with my arched back like i always have and that wouldve significantly decreased these exercices efficiency... I know you (all of you) are here to advertise and sell your workout programs but i think the reason why channels like athlean-x have so many views and so much respect is because they dont skip minimal but still important information and tips... Anyways, i still love your exercices (they're so creative) and your channel. Thank you😊

    • @redefiningstrengthOC
      @redefiningstrengthOC  5 лет назад

      That's why I have a whole pelvic tilt progression video. :-) This one is the library, that one explains things. Both are needed for different people to reach their goals. YOU may need explanation but many of my followers are trainers looking for moves and want the quick reference. But thanks for your feedback :-) Also, as someone who puts out a free youtube video every week, has 1000s of articles for FREE on their blog and does two facebook lives for FREE every week, I'd say I do care about people more than just trying to "sell" something.

    Holding my head up for crunches messes up my C4-7 as they're a little crunched themselves. Is it cheating to put a towel under my neck for support? Or, can I do the same exercises from a bench holding the legs with my head on the bench?
