About the DMM Corp Multibox: The accounts supposedly brought in 30+ shields during the tournament, and despite mass reports and tweets, these bots were not banned during the tournament. I checked corp almost every stream for 2 weeks and the same names were always there :)
Because Jagex are shit. Literally run on afghan servers. Literally don’t put they’re hand in their pockets and make shit better. Just mostly shitty pointless updates. The game will be dead in 2 years

These accounts were originally tested on world 45 few months ago. We got it on recording but had no idea what they were doing.

Multiboxxing is common in World of Warcraft, have a guy that streams 40 accounts; he runs his own raids and own Alterac Valleys. And a VPN isn't gonna fix the DDOSing on Jagex. They can't fix it, Blizzard gets DDOS'd every single expansion launch since Cataclysm, and were talking about a player base 10x more, and a company worth 100s of times more. If Jagex's ISP gets hit, your VPN is irrelevant.

Was not related to companies being DDOS'd- bad coincidence, recorded the ad before DMM final. The point is with a VPN someone won't find your IP address and then repeatedly DDOS you!
While 400k/hr is pretty low for a normal player and a waste of time for most, if you're running multiple bots that don't require you to actually play that gp adds up quickly and easily. Run 10 bots doing that while you sleep, and you've made 32m.

@@jesseschoonveld7706 According the the video, the bot script gets you all the way from level 3 to killing the scarab mages. The only input required is creating the account. So time investment is minimal. I'd imagine the bots make more than enough to pay for bonds before they get banned, otherwise the bot farm wouldn't exist.

Scarab mage bot is just downright clever. Very atypical mob, drops alchables and lots of noted items. You would never think twice if you saw some rando killing them.
Not as clever as you think, they have several bots in each world and they stick out like a sore thumb. If it was just one account doing it and you run past and see that, you probably just think "maybe he's just experimenting to see what these are like" but when you see several accounts similar level all pray flicking all using the same gear and you're running through doing the quest, you instantly think "what the hell is this?". I came across this bot farm before seeing this video and they most certainly drew my attention and looked very dodgy.

I missed this video , but now that i connect it, this but farm has been running for over a year, successfully.
I would bet he started training defence at or near 99 range to not end up with 70m+ range exp , much more sus imho.
And it worked, because that account would of easily netted him/her 1b in the last year , and at 50 hp a mob, they could of killed way more then that , because that is around 6 hours played a day, so if you have 25 virtual machines, flipping between 4 accounts, then just like that your sitting at 30k usd a year off bots alone.
And they are still running, imagine making more off bots then you could make with minimum wage.
@@110jmartin011 The whole point I was making is that these are obviously bots when you come across them, contrary to what the comment I was replying to was suggesting. You seemingly are confirming this by saying that you also managed to identify the bot pretty easily. And I think you're vastly overestimating how much money bot farms make their owners. They don't get 100% of the money from the gold they sell because there are middle men, there are bond costs, and a lot of their accounts end up banned before they can sell off the gp too. While it may seem like an account with 105 range and 101 defence must have been at it forever, it really isn't THAT high - if you assume it's getting around 50k xp an hour 20m xp would take a bot literally a couple of weeks - and I don't think 50k an hour is out of the question if you're pray flicking eagle eye the entire time, which these bots do.

He probably had some sort of offset for each client so they could move in grid formation. I think that's why he was running them around the room to stack them up on one tile
I think it'd be pretty easy to make hotkeys for a click that sends all of them to one tile and another for sending them to that grid formation.

After 9 years i started runescape again with osrs, first day of playing i saw a box of multi accounts at the GE in the biggest free player world. There were also trains of people/ bots with weird names going around lumby and varrock while spamming messages.
There's now a script that will fully build whatever accounts you want. There's also a lot of farms farming in the tower of life killing sardine spiders
This stuff is somewhat unsettling to know, but it's SO interesting to be informed of through your method. Keep up the good work.

I keep seeing bots or something in the bank in sophanum. They all have blessed d hide and a crossbow and maxed ranges lvl. They go down into the tunnel from contact quest. Don't know what they're doing.

I'm going to have to disagree with the comment that the Ely farmers probably didn't make money. Everything those people do is literally to make money and they wouldn't do it if they didn't. Not to mention all the other loot they'd get as drops and the numerous comments about them being reported and not getting banned. Not to mention that they likely didn't pay for membership and to just bond 80 accounts would cost +-450m. They definitely made money and I'd bet they made quite a lot of it too.

Question for y'all, I re-started playing today and saw something werid, in varrock there was a pack of bots following someone directions to attach guards. They were all low level and same garb and name, what was the point of the farm?
I think the ely multiboxer still profited a substantial amount especially if they were rwting which seems likely consdering they'd want to multibox. Here's some math:
Let's say one individual bought bonds for the 80 total accounts considering both were teams of 40. Bonds go for around 5.5m so that would roughly 440m. Then let's add another 2.66b for training and gearing up all the accounts total to give us an even 3b cost for simplicities sake. Let's also say they'd get 5b for every Ely they got again for simplicity.
That means on average every 20 hours they'd still profit 2b meaning for the first ely, they'd average 100m per hour after the initial costs. Then let's say they sold the gp for 20 cents per mil since it could be sold in bulk for around that price, another time for simplicity. That means for the first 20 hours, they'd be making $20 an hour, excluding all other drops.
Now let's say every additional 20 hours, they'd have to spend 2b for supplies. Every additional ely, minis other sigils, they'd make 3b per ely or 150m per hour. After rwting that gold, they'd make $30 an hour.
If they did this for 8 hours a day for two weeks, they would've made $3,160 in those two weeks excluding every other drop they got including sigils.
I tried to low ball the gold cost from them selling the gold while also high balling the costs. Now the biggest cost this could be excluding is the cost to multibox this amount of accounts in the first place as im unsure how much anyone charges for that service nor do I know how much it costs to have a server run all those accounts, including the time to create the software.

Check out red chins, feldip area by the ponds. Massive bot farm, all level 24s, one on every world. They can be messed with by setting your traps up on their trap spots when they collect. They will run north or south and reset. Two players on each spot shuts them down
This has been a common thing for like 5+ years know, pugger don't care. He needs *new spooky* bots to make videos on.
Use animation smoother in runelite along with the HD plug in, you'll thank me later. Makes the game seem a decade newer.

Yo, what would you say about not 'banning', but instead just 'shadowbanning'
The principle being to let them keep doing KC, but to have a 'shadowban' drop-list, which has none of the valuable drops. It could also start a connection table.
I feel like it might help because most botters are going for items that they wont be seeing every day on each account. So instead of going 'beep boop, now you cant login make a new bot' they instead let them keep grinding until they notice they havnt gotten their drops on this account for 6 days which is suspicious.
Probably make it so they get actually banned after a bit, so that their money gets locked away, but it will also help towards banning mules, real world traders, and maybe even the main holdings accounts

And part of the last paragraph is to make sure that you get to know it happened. Probably as an addendum make it so it keeps track of KC of monsters so they can grant you X many random loot rolls if you are found innocent, but idk. I dont get paid to know how their archaic (had to google it cause that word doesnt Look like one to me) system works.
Or, put them in a bubble of their own. They get loot, but it's marked just like some money bills are marked for security (but there's no difference to the player). They can sell it on the grand exchange, and it will sell, but they'll get a different kind of coins that cannot be traded or dropped to other players in any way, it's a dud. But your plan would work better, much simpler

I used 117's HD for a few minutes then turned it off again... I like original OSRS graphics, they were the best generation of graphics in my opinion.

I've been seeing a lot of bots in Obsidian Helm/PB and Dragon PL at Kurasks recently. There are usually 1 or 2 per world, but will leave if there's 3 or more people total at Kurasks. With Kurasks dropping noted items and high alchables they can stay there for a while but TP when they're out of food.

The amount of cash ONE person brings to jages through multiboxing is so much, they'll neeeveeeer ban them. Just one human being giving them 200$ every month, no way they'd get rid of him. It's all about cash flow, to Jagex, not about fair game.
THATS false as can be, i had 17 accs all membered up and they warning 2 day banned 5 of my accs for botting agility, which i wasnt doing. What actually amazed me was they then realized i was actually manually playing, and sent me a sorry membership bond in game. See they do care about bots but some things arent bots just dumb like playing with 17 accs all in small squares clicking your ass off nonstop, but each of them seems like a bot cus its rinse and repeat. The truth is if you use an even remotely decent bot, you probably look like a god tier player even though you arent, because t will make swaps perfectly every time etc no wasted MS
EDIT: Jagex arent super nice to us obviously, i misspoke on that bond. they gave ONE bond to ONE of the 5 accs, but unbanned all of them. the bond logic was that they costed me a total of 7 accs 2 days each so i guess fair but kinda not

Botters aren't the best customers, they tend to do a lot of chargebacks for example. Jagex just have a policy of not having Jmods go around to ban bots manually and they rely on their automated systems instead. That means that when someone makes a bot that avoids detection it can run for years without a ban.
@@zimbu_ they're perfect customers. They buy bonds for membership so keep the cycle going. I'm not even made it makes perfect sense. I buy bond and sell for 5m gp, I get to enjoy 5m. Botter buys bond for 5m and keeps the supply/demand up. If bond was 1-2m why would I pay for that.

It's sad to see osrs turning to shit more and more as bots become more advanced. Either that or Jagex just don't care about banning them. It sometimes makes it hard to enjoy the game for what it is when people can cheat so easily.

If you think this is the only game where devs are underpaid, you’re in dreamland. EVERY game dev is underpaid. It’s literally a meme at this point. Almost any game dev could move to software and pull double the money.
Though that being said, for many game companies, their profits are honestly just shit in comparison to many major software companies. There are plenty of exceptions where devs are clearly getting hosed by owners, but honestly I’d wager generally speaking the game dev world has similar-ish salary margins in relation to CEO profit as other software firms.

RS3 has a much more robust micro transaction model doesn’t it? You can look at any other similar game with those types of models and see that their profits tend to DWARF those of “better” games with more players and image.
Nature of the capitalism beast.
OSRS may have more players, be a better game, more popular, do more for Jagex’s image, etc, but that doesn’t mean it’s more of a cash cow by any means. Unless there are published financials for the game and devs salaries/benefits, it’s impossible to say with any certainty that’s the case.
Not to mention Jagex wouldn’t be the first company to do this. Whether it’s game devs or software engineers, companies do whatever they can get away with in terms of compensation. If the RS3 team happened to be better negotiators, they could very easily be making more on that alone.

Yeah I saw some of those Sarab bots, and then they went to the basement at a higher level, they either logged when got to bank/ world hop and then logged back.
Those RC bots using the abyss have always been there. Albeit, they are changing their methods to avoid being pked, I do enjoy going there and killing some of them when I need some quick cash. And extremely rarely, you have a chance to get a decent stack if the bot owner forgot to add in the script to dump what items they get. I managed to kill one ( for these bots it was a lot to me) about 100k in the gear they had, plus runes and some rune ess.
Lol I haven't seen multiboxers since I played wow. And yeah they're capable of a lot. Wow has tons of abilities and what not you have to use in pvp, and there was a guy on our server that would solo 40 man pvp battlegrounds with just his accounts. You could tell which character he was controlling, then as soon as he attacked you his whole army of bots all start stunning and killing you lol
Last I heard WoW finally said multi-boxing is no longer allowed in TOS and started banning them. They gave them like a month or so to quit. But I found it interesting that for like 15 years they allowed it. More accounts more money :P
@@Fireblats No. That's not quite what they did. The act of multiboxing itself is not against the ToS and is still allowed.
What they banned was the programs used to assist with multiboxing that replicate keystrokes and send them to the other game clients and automate certain functions, as those are essentially just bots.
It's a similar effect in that it cripples this scale of multiboxing with tens of accounts, but it's still completely fine to multibox multiple characters while controlling them all manually.
For the average player, It's true that this is essentially getting rid of all multiboxing, but for more competitive players that use multiboxing just to get up multiple characters for new tiers and expansions this is best case scenario, as they can continue what they were doing.
In Blizzard's eyes the part of this video that would be wrong-doing (if it were a Blizzard game) is the act of characters automatically doing things, such as going into the grid pattern or attacking a target all at the same time. That's botting. The fact that there are like 20 or however many doesn't matter.

Installing the HD runelite plugin breaks my runelite so it can never opem again... i have to uninstall and manually delete folders and reinstall to get runelite to work again
that amulet bot was not a bot for making money.
That was a new training bot. When i use to make scripts i always did stupid things like that. Not because it was funny or profitable, but because i was bug testing loads of different outcomes.
the reason the ammys sold for 1 gp was because he was testing a selling feature, the reason he put random gold on the bots was he was testing gold accumulation readouts, the reason the bots were doing the training in various different orders is to test multiple things (ai training predictions, stuck scripts, problem avoidance and solving, ect.).
That is a script maker testing, that script is being designed with the effect of being the one stop shop for scripts. New bots can be created, quests can be completed, grinding can be done, ect all from one script.

@@Drakkross There are various several mil/hr methods of gold farming for members, some as profitable as to be over 6m gp/h, so it's not as hard as you think. Besides, any serious botter has several sleeper accounts that are prepared in advance and ready to go.

Remember the old lava dragon bots. Well now there is a new large lava dragon bot farm. The use the south east spot. Auto log when you approach them. And use tridents/toxic trident instead of low level magic spells. So they are literally killing thousands per day
My alt account got hijacked (assuming turned into a bot then hacked.) idk how to fix this I’ve done everything I could to try to recover my account idk what to do

There's bots at the agility pyramid with high agility and high magic, not sure why the magic level, though, but I went to sleep after noticing them and the same bots were active when I woke up.

how does one get their hacked account back
The last part at abyssal demons is what happened to my account. But they were farming green dragons and used the whip dboots dlegs granite top and rune full helm. I have about 15 granite tops in my bank now that i have my account back. That and 90 in all melee stats. Really weird but glad i was able to get it back.
Just a side note on that VPN to another country's server to get a cheaper price...they also ask for a billing address in that country thus it will not work.
So this isn't particularly groundbreaking, but if you feel like hunting green drag bots, there are some pretty crude and unmolested ones in the spot in the far eastern spawn south of dark crabs.

they are scout bots. they report player wealth on a discord server for lurers to come scam wealthy players
Today I was killing chaos druids north of ardougne just trying to get a herb for a quest, and every world I hopped to there was a bot in the same gear. All of them full addy with a saradomin sword and rune boots. Literally every US East world had one of them.
I've seen a lot of bot like accounts at the wilderness godwars aviansies. They're farming addy bars. I first noticed them when I was killing the Deranged Arch. They tele around there. I think maybe the burning amulet Bandit Camp spot. Then they run through the Deranged arch and north to the GWD dungeon.
I also think it's contributing to why smithing addy plates is profitable right now without alching.
Honestly bots wouldn't be so rampant if normal players weren't buying so much gold. I believe most of the gold buying is due to being cleaned at duel arena.

I was splashing on f2p worlds this week is port sarim. Kept seeing a lot of level 15s running past the entrana monks.. I told them all "thot" as they walked past.
Seems that amulets of strength are back to normal
