    I like Kyria for leading a unit of battle sisters. She helps keep them safe from long range fire so they can sit on a point and collect miracle dice or perhaps live long enough to approach armor to use meltas on. She also synergizes with the current detachment rule because she makes it harder for the squad to be focused down and combining that with her weapon profile rejoice the fallen has potential to get good value for her squad.

    • @zissoulander
      @zissoulander Год назад +1

      Same. She also synergizes with the exorcist indirect already in the codex. Having her attached to a BSS also means that if she kills something with her indirect you get a miracle die due to the simulacrum in the unit.

    The generic inquisitor is just perfect for Deathwatch as their 5+ FNP vs mortals makes the unit they lead harder to take out and many DW strategems target 2 killteam units, so you can boost 2 units with 1 CP and if the inquisitor is is 1 of them you have a 67% chance of getting the CP back.

    Greyfax is surprisingly brutal with Custodian Guard. If you come across a psyker unit, it makes their ranged fire surprisingly dangerous, and she benefits from their double tap. And if they get into melee...well, assuming the enemy survives, now they either have to make the desperate escape or stay in combat with a bunch of Custodian Guard. And she's good with Prosecutors too for a budget option. All told, she's remarkably useful in a Custodes list, especially if you're not necessarily building to bleeding edge meta

    I think GW should include tags for puritan and radical inquisitors, with different build options for each. A puritan inquisitor like Greyfax shouldn't have access to a daemonhost in her retinue, but they could get another specialist instead, such as a ministorum priest. Also the blessed wardings on the standard inquisitor seems much weaker than the psychic gifts option - I think it would've been better if blessed wardings just gave FNP against everything rather than just mortals.
    I think the generic inquisitor should also have different rules depending on which Ordo they belong to - hopefully GW does more with the current datasheets at some point - more customisation options for inquisitors please, as they are one of the most interesting aspects of the setting

    Seconding a comment made by another Deathwatch player, generic Inquisitors are beautiful in DW armies, especially where the Teleportarium strat is concerned: Solid chance to deep strike two strong units for free every turn. Great for getting important units out of danger, snagging objectives, and landing Tactical Missions like "Engage on All Fronts". Makes your army infinitely more mobile. I can speak from experience when I say that your opponents will find it VERY annoying 😅

It's not a bad unit; it hasn't had a standout performance yet, but I haven't regretted taking it yet either. I'd agree that their main advantage is that they're weirdly tough for regular humans and can fight off light bully units in close combat. Since their shooting isn't great, they're also my first pick for mission actions that require a unit to sacrifice shooting. Much less of an opportunity cost than most Guard infantry if they can't shoot for a turn, and they're harder to shoot apart before they finish.

      Then you only get 9 Vets cause Drop Pods only fit 10 instead of 11 or 12 to account for leaders.
      I prefer putting 5 vets and a regular inquisitor in a Razorback if you’re using transports to give them rerolls on all the devastating wounds including the psychic power on the inquisitor.

      @@gregoryseraphin1426 i like a cheap inquisitor in a chimera w dual hvy flamers. The inquisitor can then rapid fire both lasgun arrays, and still be a pain after they blow up the tank. I find its a great distraction carnifex for its points, that just turns out great if it goes ignored for other targets.

    Surprised you didn’t touch on the Daemonhost buff Eisenhorn gives more - 8 S6/AP-2/D1 melee attacks from a single model costing 10 points is nuts, especially considering the 5++ unit-wide buff it gives as well.

    tell you what, £32 for 6 minis and a familiar is definitely NOT worth it. For that price I would insist on a second set of the variant sprue so you can build all the variants.
