Can you make a video please on how to make bids. I never heard of this. Many thanks for considering this.
Just as Covid hit we were passing through Singapore and had a triple upgrade in Raffles to a garden suite with a Butler! The hotel had recently been renovated and due to Covid had virtually no guests… it was early March 2020. We’ll never be able to repeat that experience again once in a lifetime experience.
That sounds awesome 🤩
Your RUclips channel has become a great second/third career. You come across so well. Kind and authentic.
Thank you Jason!
I learn something new every time I watch your videos. Especially interesting is the bid for a flight class upgrade as I have thought about it but didn’t know how much to bid or whether it is even worth a try. I will look into that now. I have only cruised once so I have little experience there and I do get travel sickness so hence I have avoided ocean cruises. Maybe I will try again now learning of your experiences. Last year I did the Danube river cruise and it was so delightful, I didn’t want it to end. Thank you for sharing.
Some great tips. And I'm sure we have all kept our neighbouring room occupants awake through a bit of noise...😂
I have travel insurance through our employer (my retired partner still has coverage through his benefits). Years ago we got a ViSA Avion Rewards card because the travel insurance, trip cancelation etc was included in the annual fee which was 1/5th of the cost of the insurance if we purchased it through the travel agency).
Thanks for the great tips! Cheers Chris and Jim!
Love those last 10 seconds left on the video :) . Fire the editor :) . Again another great video.
Thanks again! 🌺
Thanks for sharing your tips. Happy travels!
😆
Thanks for watching! 🙂🌺
You guys need to understand what long haul really is. Anything over 16 hours is really long haul.
Try living in Australia or New Zealand. We never do Europe or UK without a stopover. In our 60s, travelled to UK a few times now. Love Dubai stopovers.
Fortunately we have reached the stage we can do premium economy, business class prices have become so expensive post COVID.
Thanks for sharing Louise Cheers 🌺✈️🍷🍻
Hi Norm and Tina! Great content, keep it coming!
Norm... excellent taste in shirts, as usual.🤘😎
Glad you like them! 👍🍻
Thank you for continuing to inform us about deals. We need those.
You are so welcome 🌺🙂
Good idea to bid for the upgrade on your cruise. We do that on flights. We did one from Cairo to Paris and were able to get 1st class for $300 USD each.
Wow that was awesome 👏 Congratulations 🥳✈️
Yo’re great at finding bargains and love that you share your knowledge and tips!!! Thanks Norm and Tina.😁
Thanks so much
Thanks for sharing. Great video.
Thanks for watching! 🍻🙂
Best ever band from Canada !
Love your content, love the videos i just retired 9 months ago thanks to you and others saying do it as soon as possible. Love your rush tshirt there one of my favorite groups. I think in short time you two may be just as popular as them ha ha have a great day
That would be wonderful to be as popular as RUSH 😂glad you enjoy our channel 🌺🙂🍻
Good info
We search for travel bags as well!
Thanks for watching! 🇺🇸🌺🇨🇦
Million Aires.. great title and great aspirations that can be reached for sure
Thanks so much Deborah Chees 🥂🌺
Hi Tina& Norm good to see you again and thanks for the tips I will have to try some of them .
Regards. Christopher Barker
Hello Christopher good to hear from you, have a nice weekend 👍
Thanks!
Thanks so much Pat 💕
Doublecheck cruiseline insurance. Some of the lines only insure Americans. They won't insure Canadians.
I enjoy using budget airlines with the caveat that I will buy a drink or two on the flight. Yes, it's somewhat expensive, but the enjoyment and the buzz from higher altitude is always worth it. If you get a 40 dollar flight, a 10 dollar drink is very reasonable. Enjoy a drink from the best views ever.
Cheers 🍷🍻🌺
We have done a mix of guaranteed inside and room selection. The 2nd time, our second cruise, we got deck 2. It was terrible. But the next cruise we didn't get our cabin till 3 days before and it was a super balcony! We're hoping with our TA this fall we will get an upgrade
Thanks for sharing! 🌺🍷
Another very informative video. Air Transat has gotten into the bidding game for Club Class also. I’ve got a bid in for a September flight from Toronto to London UK in hopes of sleeping better on the way.
Great to hear! fingers crossed 🤞 for you Lynn 🌺🍷
I'm on a root-beer budget. diet root beer!
Airmiles seem to be hard to get points now as less companies seem to use then. And Aeroplan you need to have a ton of points if you don't book uber early.
Good for you for using upgrades to get premium flights. Well worth it
It was great we really enjoyed it Cheers 🌺🙂✈️
Didn’t see this at Giant Tiger today.
Thanks for another great video! Can you explain what travel insurance does for you? Does it insure the cost of the trip, if something goes wrong? Or is this health-care insurance, for use in foreign countries?
It includes medical healthcare, trip cancellation, lost luggage, accidental death and car rental insurance, it's a comprehensive travel medical insurance.
No comment on the banging headboard. 😜😜😜
But it’s real Murray ! thanks for watching Cheers 🍻🙂
😂😂😂😅😊
You need to put a pillow between your headboard and the wall Norm !
Or better still give your neighbour a taste of thier own medicine . 😊
Great idea Tony 🍻🙂
Champagne travelling on a beer budget is the best! You mentioned travel insurance in your video, as a fellow Canadian I am interested in learning more with what company you two are with. Is it credit card or another provider? Thanks in advance
We have a full travel and Medical policy attached to our BMO credit card , we pay an annual fee for trips up to 31 days ( we have heard that it is less now as we are Grandfathered in ) and Pay $329 a year for us both Cheers 🌺🙂
Bought from our credit card BMO MasterCard Total Travel And Medical Protection
@@ThisIsOurRetirement could you let me know which BMO Credit card? Also have you ever had to use the medical or travel policy? If yes, how was your experience? Thank you in advance
Just the no fee Air Miles one ✈️
HAL have become ridiculously expensive, as have Celebrity so we have ditched the idea of loyalty on cruise lines. Next two are on NCL and the two after that are on Princess.
Totally agree with you Daniel the loyalty thing used to be really important but not any more just finding a cruise 🚢 at a good price seems more important Cheers 🙂🚢
We agree!
I hope with all of your success your financially benefiting from this channel so it would be nice to hear about how that has affected your travel and your budget..
It hasn’t 🌺
Used to collect Airmiles but it took about 12 years to get 3 trips cancelled collecting airmiles as it wasn't worth it at all
We agree it’s a shade of its former self
Hello
Learning from every video. Can I ask a question? What would you recommend for travel insurance. We live in Calgary. Thanks
Try and get an annual policy Google to see what comes up
We're in the states so I don't know if this applies to Canada but we've used Allianz many times. For our upcoming trip to Scandinavia however we are using AARDY
Norm, did you know Geddy Lee works at Home Depot these days? He's still a 'Working Man'
Hello Tina and Norm, good day. Trust that all is good and well with both of you. I meant to ask this question, if you ever encountered it during your travel outside Canada. If we use e-sim data (only) while traveling, how do we receive sms text for the 2-step verification which banks require to login to their site? I scoured the internet, but never got definitive answer on the matter.
Air Canada is much better because they offer 2-step verification via email. Thanks.
Some banks allow security questions to access your account RBC has this as an option. BMO hasn’t implemented 2 step just yet, we have other sites that require 2 step and we use a Yubikey for that. Hope this helps, also we use NordVPN when we travel for geo locating us back to Canada.
@@ThisIsOurRetirement Thank you for the recommendation. For sure we will have VPN once I am not relying on my office phone and VPN security. Retirement is coming soon. Take care and enjoy the summer in Ontario.
Is the bid money applied to your reservation cost?
They only charge you if you win your bid Cindy 🌺✈️🚢
Do you pay for diamond status with American Express.
Sorry we don’t have Amex 🌺
Do all airlines have this bid process?
No they don’t just have to Google which ones do ✈️🙂
Unfortunately none of the US big 3 participate.
Interesting about the bid for the Air Canada upgrade to business class but $18K for the UK-Canada leg is a lot, perhaps it's because you were booking relatively late. I typically fly business class overseas and most often book my flights 6 months ahead. Last time I flew overseas it was more like $3K business class with the laydown flat seats for the overnight portion over and premium economy for the flight back (as it turned out I was able to use Air Canada e-upgrades to get business back too). I guess with "last minute" sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.
We agree David that when you get a last minute cruise deal you pay more on the air fare ✈️ although it was nice to enjoy flying back Business class Cheers 🌺🙂✈️🍻
When did you last travel though as flight prices have rocketed.
@@BoninBrighton We went to Egypt last October for our once in a lifetime cruise up the Nile to visit the ancient sites, I bought the tickets the previous December. We flew business class Toronto to Cairo (stop in Montreal) and returned from Cairo in premium economy with free e-upgrades to business class (stop in Frankfurt) and I think it was $3,300 return
I just cheeked and 6 months from now on the Air Canada website you can book business class Toronto to Bordeaux (my wife's sister lives near there) for $1888 (stop in Dublin) and return in premium economy (stop in Frankfurt) for $1,081. It's still not "cheap" but under $3K and a lot less than $18K.
@@BoninBrighton We flew Toronto to Cairo last October (business class over and premium economy back) for a once in a lifetime trip to see the ancient sites there. I just checked on the Air Canada website and, for example, 6 months from now you can fly Toronto to Bordeaux France, business class over, return in premium economy, for a little less than 3K. Just saying that planning ahead can also offer savings.
@@ddavidson5 we don’t see those prices flying from London sadly….
How do millionaires travel? I think some are in economy class and the others hang with the other not millionaires. Five hour flight for $900 you are millionaires.
😊🎉❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊 beautiful 😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍 so lovely 🥰🌹💐🌹😊 amazing 💖😊
Thanks for watching 🌺🙂❤️
Why are head boards banging against wall? Just look through your peep hole and see who is doing it!!😮
We often push a polite note under the adjoining door quoting the things we’ve heard, and inviting them to meet us for a drink in one of the bars! That tends to quieten them down a lot 😂
