Cystic Fibrosis life expectancy has almost doubled in 20 years. FDA treatments are now approved, and quality of life is much better.
All because of a strategy called Venture Philanthropy.

The main difference is that there is quite robust and clear evidence of how CF works. Whereas with CFS or LC, that's not the case.

This is why we can weight more investment into research projects initially, and then shift that more towards treatments once we understand more about mechanisms, which is what other diseases have done/ are doing
