Using Existing Drugs To Treat Long Covid | How Do We Make Re-Purposing Work?

I talk about how repurposing existing drugs could provide some quick wins for treating Long Covid. I brainstorm some ideas on how we might do this, and what some of the issues might be.

This is a good idea when working with pharma, but it will likely take years, it will not involve patients enough, and it will end with a medication that is quite expensive and with a patent to keep the price high.
There are already lots of existing, generic medications with years of safety data that are on the market which can be tested very quickly and for much less money... but the lack of financial benefit means that pharma will not pay for these trials.
