How did you find having Austin paint for me? Should we get him back?
I thought the model looked awesome at the end, and very sad its not my model that is painted :-D I'll have to follow my own tutorial!

Some of the first videos that got me into miniature painting

It was a lot fun being a guest painter. I look forward to more collaboration in the future.

Fantastic edits on this one. Smart choice to skip parts but the video meshed well.
As for the blue, I really liked it. As I stated in an earlier video I tend to paint darker minis but for Massive Darkness I'm really trying to brighten them up a little because I enjoy the art style and I think the sculpts are just ever-so-slightly cartoony. The blue really made this mini pop.

+The King of Average oh really glad your liked the cuts. I try to leave in as much as I can - even if it's somewhat speeded up. But Austin supplied me with what felt like infinite footage :-D so I trimmed what felt right to keep the length down

When I did the wash on my fur I used a mix of AP grey, black and blue, so not surprised Austin used blue at all, although I thought it may have been too harsh but looked fine in the end.

+thrashbat1 how did yours look? Better for being a mixture?

Hard to tell from the video, probably not much in it unless you looked closely.

Hey Ron! Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a lovely message :-) it’s funny, like you could read my mind the last couple of days - I’ve just been doing the audio for tomorrow’s video and was feeling down that my narration never seems very informative to me :-D lovely to hear that you’re finding it useful :-) thanks again!

Great stuff! Love the attention to detail in your videos.
I'd be really keen to see more Massive Darkness. I personally have been trying to prepare myself to paint The Nightmare Thing from the Lightbringer pack, but I honestly don't know where to start. Would love to see your take on it.

Thanks Ameer! Glad you've been enjoying the videos. Urgh, yes, that looks really tricky! I'll add it to the voting list, and if the Patreon's pick it - you'll see it soon :-)

So, I can't remember where but some guy I saw did The Nightmare with a quick base coat and some washes. It looked great and he said it was really quick and easy... Not much help I know ....

  • @libelula5

Was it only two coats of barbarian flesh? I have done two and going to need at least one more ...

+Kire oguh it will have to be a judgement call, on top of black primer I bet it would take 3. But don’t forget you’re going to be highlighting later in the same colour. I often find it doesn’t matter if the base coat is completely perfect, if I’m going to use a wash and highlight after! The black primer will also help it look more shaded. But as I said, you kind of need to see what you think as you’re doing it. Feel free to share on the Patreon community page if you’d like us to see your model and get any feedback :-) Austin painted this model, and might have more input. Hope I’ve helped a little :-)

Done! I never really thought of that so I guess I am done with two coats. Also, I think I tend to be too picky with my own models and looking at them from 2cm away! Once seen from a playing distance you can't tell!

+Kire oguh that’s completely right! I have this problem loads. I’ve done another Werewolf tutorial for tonight and I thought it looked so bad I nearly stopped/deleted the footage. It’s silly really because off the camera he looks good. And more than 30cm way he looks really good! Remember perfect is the enemy of great!

I finished it, terrible highlights but again, you cannot really see from 30cm away and the effect is actually really good!

Nice channel, kinda different from usuall stuff i see around (there arent space marines, it's a plus plus for me :D)
Just subscribed, if you have time let me know what you think about my channel :)

Bad news! Space marines may be coming :-D don't worry though, they'll be plenty of other content too, just the odd GW things hopefully to increase views, we will see!

As for your channel, I'm not sure my channel is good enough to critique yours! But for what it's worth, it looks like a decent start. You've improved your lighting and angle. I would try and keep improving it! Your paint job looks really good from what I can tell, it's just hard to see. Can you do a voice over? I hate reading text while I'm trying to watch what you're doing. Finally, do show your model at the end as well as you can! Hope this helps
