    Sorry this one has already been done on RUclips, but I started it forever ago, and felt like I should at least finish it, especially as Patreons wanted to see it! What do you think? And should I avoid doing tutorials for miniatures already on RUclips or is it good to have my version there too?

    It is NOT a waste of time. Thanks for your time and effort, I especially enjoy watching the Massive Darkness minis being painted.

      Thanks man, I won't worry about duplicating tutorials out there then! Thanks for the feedback :-)

    It is NOT a waste of time. There is already someone else's Giant Spider painting here on RUclips but as with most paint jobs, they did it much different than I did. Selection is great! Additionally you're videos are just a joy to watch. of the models you paint I only own massive Darkness, but I still enjoy watching them both because I learn a bit each time and because it's just enjoyable (for me anyway) to see a plain mini made 100% better with just a bit of paint added to it.

      Amazing you watch them all! Serious dedication :-D Yeah figured most people like the Massive Darkness videos here, so I've tried to do at least 2 each month!

      OMG Evan I'm really sorry - I just looked at my request list, and your name is right there against Owen!! You will have been the reason I started doing him months ago! I'm sorry I didn't mention you in the video :-) I've got lost in the world of Patreon now, but I do put up requests on there for voting :-) So thank my Patreon's too, they liked your request! Thanks for your awesome request! Enjoyed this model!

    Like others have already said - definitely not a waste. Always nice to see various ways people paint the same model.
    Just FYI - if you want that gold to coat better (1, maybe 2 coats) try undercoating it with a nice dark brown like burnt umber or leather brown first, then paint the gold over top. You'd be surprised how much easier it makes painting the gold. :)

      @WatchItPaintIt  7 лет назад

      Oh nice tip! I'll give that a shot when I paint something else that's gold! There's the female version of this character isn't there? I'll try it on her!

      You could also use Retributor Gold from GW's line of paints. It's got double the pigment and flakes as per normal metallic paints to ensure coverage.

      100% going to try that gold Marc. Thanks for taking the time to let us know

    Variety is the spice of life! :D I've seen 2 spider videos from MD, I'd still like to see your take on it. Sometimes I watch several vids of the same model and take away the bits and pies I like of each one. heh

    • @WatchItPaintIt
      @WatchItPaintIt  7 лет назад

      +Shelley Shaw great point! I'll have to get my spider in there too before you start :-D

    • @ShelleyDanielle
      @ShelleyDanielle 7 лет назад +1

      better hurry I already bought the purple paint I wanted for his legs :P I'm going to need a break at some point from all these doors, chests and bridges. hah

    • @TheKingofAverage
      @TheKingofAverage 7 лет назад +1

      What purple did you go with? For mine I used Naggaroth Night (citadel) + shade and a blue highlight. For some reason I must love purple on mini's, it's one of the first paint pots I bought and it's already almost empty.

    • @ShelleyDanielle
      @ShelleyDanielle 7 лет назад +2

      I bought Citadel Xereus Purple and genstealer Purple. I like what @Heroes & Bosses did for the legs but I prefer what @GhoolsWorld did for the body/butt? lol That said by the time I get to the spider I may not want to do that detail and will just use Formula P3 beaten purple for the full leg. :P

    • @TheKingofAverage
      @TheKingofAverage 7 лет назад +1

      Oooh I bet that'll look great! I saw Heroes & Bosses' and am way jealous of his base but found his spider a bit *too* purple for my personal tastes. I did the abdomen (butt) in a way I'd never tried before but felt it came out great. - In no way do you need to do this but if you want to see what I did you can on my channel. If you do I hope it helps a bit! Be sure to post a pic or video of your spider when you finish! Or, if you want to see an actual good job you can wait for Watch It Paint It's video :P

    I don't understand the comment about wasting time because someone else painted this mini already. Is there only 1 mini allowed per youtube? I specifically come to your channel to watch your MD tutorials and would love to see every single one miniature painted at one point of time. Best of luck and more confidence mate!

      +xTaikoen cheers dude. More just making sure you guys are getting what you need and want. Each video takes hours and hours so I want them to be useful and wanted :-) thanks for letting me know!

      xTaikoen Agreed! I started really getting into painting back in the spring and this channel has been my go to from the Start! I think I may have actually been one of the very first subscribers ;) I've always loved watching and hearing the techniques used in these videos. Even if there were hundreds of other vids of the same mini I'd still be watching you Ben! Learned a lot from this guy and keep up the great work!!

      +Richard Peo thanks man! That's really lovely! And you were definitely one of the first! :-D

    Hurray - another Massive Darkness painting! :D I like seeing a hero done. I was doing just mobs before but have moved onto Roaming Monsters and am enjoying a single model MUCH more lol. That red you used on his robe or whatever is really cool btw! I love darker reds.
    As for the shade use - as I've said before I typically go a bit darker, black shade over the whole model FTW! :D
    I actually just finished my first (Giant Spider) and put it up on my channel - I'd love your feedback as I'm pretty new to filming/commentating/editing it :D

    • @WatchItPaintIt
      @WatchItPaintIt  7 лет назад

      +The King of Average yeah. Not done that many heroes! Mainly because I have all my Zombicide characters to use which are already painted and I think the monsters are more exciting. Totally agree with you. I hate, hate, hate hordes of monsters now :-(
      Sweet. I'll check out your video when I get a sec. Haven't done the spider myself yet!

    • @TheKingofAverage
      @TheKingofAverage 7 лет назад +1

      Hey thanks! I'd actually really appreciate feedback :) - I started with mobs because they're seen more. You can go games without seeing roaming monsters and heroes can always not be picked (though my 8yo daughter ALWAYS picks Whisper - I should really paint her I suppose) but man, painting 1 up fully and then noticing you need to assembly line paint another 12 is disheartening lol.
      I did the goblin archers (first video I saw of yours) and was super excited when they spawned. We killed them in about 0.2 seconds lol

    • @WatchItPaintIt
      @WatchItPaintIt  7 лет назад +1

      I used to use the exact same logic, the mobs get used more! Same as painting monsters before heroes in games, monsters are in every game, you change up which heroes you use... But now I just prefer to paint the better models :-D

    • @TheKingofAverage
      @TheKingofAverage 7 лет назад +1

      Heck yeah man, paint what interests you! I enjoy the hobby of painting minis in general but if it's a mini I get a kick out of it's so much better :D

    As a fellow youtuber who did an owen video i have to admit i like yours a bit more.
    His face gave me nothing but trouble. Watching your video i noticed i mistook robes for another backpack.
    Keep up the good work

      +jafo 2007 cheers dude. Yeah I'd seen yours and Miss flames. I started this ages ago but put it on hold when I saw other tubers had done it. So only just decided to finish it. Thanks again!

    Good job dude- only bit I dislike is his squinty eyes tho- has anyone tried painted them in or are they just toooooo teeny and squinty?? Apart from that like the red, really like deep reds in all my personal robe selections

    • @WatchItPaintIt
      @WatchItPaintIt  7 лет назад

      +James Benson yeah that was basically the issue with the eyes, tiny and squinty. I did consider forcing in some eyeballs but figured I've shown that a lot so isn't hard to steal from another video if you didn't like my lazy/easy mode approach here
