WHOOPS! Accidentally published this video a week early! Sorry :-) If anyone *is* interested in getting the content soon/earlier do check out my Patreon! Content gets there a little early plus it was the Patreon votes that got this model a tutorial! :-) Would anyone like a standalone wet blending video, or is RUclips full of them already?
A week early?! You are a machine good sir! Thanks to a 2 week vacation for Christmas I am ahead in my painting but that's just filming. I am NOT ahead when it comes to editing and voice over work. And that's just me struggling to do 2 a week! Even with that I'm only ahead a week -_-
That looks awesome. I recently discovered this channel and I hope you guys get around to the rest of massive darkness and zombicide. Big fan of style and details of those miniatures, and you guys just make them look all the better.
Hey man. Glad you like it! :-) super happy you found our channel - welcome and I hope you find a lot of content enjoyable here. Have no fear we have carried on with both Massive Darkness and Zombicide. Several more videos are on our Patreon - they’ll be public on RUclips in the future but if you’re interested in the content early and supporting the channel more do check out our Patreon! :-) Anything you’re interested in seeing from them we haven’t done yet? I’m going to paint something tonight for the channel and ideas are always welcome!
Watch It Paint It I'm really glad to hear that, and, if you're up for it, maybe the spectral walkers? Those seem like they would be much more haunting and more naturally un-natural with some of the lighting tricks you guys do when painting
Hehe. Already done those! One of the videos on Patreon, Austin painted them in a few minutes and they look awesome. Good choice :D probably be on youtube sometime next month
Watch It Paint It Awesome. I can't wait to see what you guys did them. I did have another request, if that's okay, but it's from the black plague set of zombicide. I think the zombie minotaur would be much more intimidating if you guys painted it. (All of them would to be honest, but the monster figures just seem to have a lot of personality in these sets of games compared to others I play. I'm happy to see you guys work your magic on any of them)
Awesome. Everytime I watch one of your vids i wanna buy the figure you are painting lol. I'm still working on the Ignos one I bought after watching your video on that. Great job once again.
@@WatchItPaintIt I've looked for a few. Some were too expensive and a couple I couldn't find. I did find the Ignos one which is one of my favorites. Bought the expansion pack just to get it. Now I'll check out the werebear video one you mentioned. Ok update. Watched the video. Loved it. And since I love bears I went to ebay and I now own it lol
I’ll talk to Benson about making a technique video. Could be interesting if I have to do the voice over but not the video... he’s afraid you’ll all find out he has he voice of a 5 year old girl!!! As for the greenstuff we didn’t notice before benson took the model :-( and he didn’t mention it until after he’d finished. But yep we both thought it was a shame we didn’t fix it!
To match the color on the ropes with speed paints I use sand golem yellow and add two drops and mix with one drop of the dark brown ( can’t remember the name sorry) and I get a color very close to it.
Love how he turned out! You should totally try wet blending btw! I did it for the first time for my video on Zoe that pops up on Friday (USA time) - it's easier than you'd think and looks really cool afterward! My favorite part of this mini is definitely the entire tree trunk he has as a handle :D Not having the blues on hand is what's prevented me from painting him as well so really glad you guys were able to get it! Now just to get Benson some concept art :P
Yay, glad you liked it. Yeah wet blending is definitely on my list of things to do/learn :-) Urgh, annoying not having the right colours isn't it? We keep having to go get more and more to get the tutorials as close to the artwork as we can!
Yeah that can be tough. I see a mini I want to paint and then realize I need to buy 3ish more paints >.< - Worth it though! Wet blending is fun and I wish I could do it all the time now lol. Try it on a fur cape or something! Those were invented for wet blending! :D
I just painted this! I used almost all army painter equivalent, but I had problems with the wash. Ultimately, I skipped that step entirely and I don't regret it. Perhaps Nuln Oil is worth investing in? I am not sure. Thanks for making quality content! I love it always.
Nice. Link me up if you get a chance to show me your work! I personally don’t find much difference between Dark Tone and nuln oil but Benson would probably argue otherwise :D
That weird bit on his stomach looks to me like a cut or slash mark, it's actually blood coming out of a gash! If GW is anything to go by then the troll's blood should be BLACK!

I absolutely love the Massive Darkness sculpts. Everything for that game just oozes a huge amount of style.
Love Benson's paint jobs!
Me too! He’s back painting frequently again at the moment too - super exciting.

Haha! Are they all easy enough to pick up on eBay? Avoid watching the werebear video :D one of Benson’s best paint jobs in my opninon

Been trying to find a tutorial for an old school GW style blue troll. Good job.
Thanks man! Yeah Benson mentioned it really reminded him of old GW trolls at the time :-D
That was great video and I just got into blending! I understand it a lot better. Thanks
Would love to see technique videos, and a big thumbs up for the way this turned out
Glad you liked it. Hope to start doing the odd technique videos :-)
Would love to learn more on the wet blending for sure
I’ll see if we can find a nice model to demonstrate with!
Looks great. Love the blending. Yes to technique videos. One minor criticism..... use greenstuff to fill the gap at his head. Makes a huge difference

Awesome! I'm glad, and you got the video early! This was supposed to be next Friday's video :-D
BIG UP TO BENSON INDEED! Thank you for posting these videos!
Thanks for taking the time to comment :-) a new Benson model coming soon!

Personally I think the AP washes are all better than the Citadel equivalents.
Yes please do a wet blending video, I have yet to figure out how to do it properly
I’ll try and find a nice model to use as a good example for you!
Where it is possible tu buy this minature? It looks amazing.
It’s from the board game Massive Darkness. Best trying to find someone selling it on eBay. You can’t just buy this miniature normally
very good woooow
The old Stone Troll from Warhammer Fantasy has been eating his Wheaties~
:-D
Pretty surprising how the new GW Troggoths are similar to this :/
