a weird story this video reminded me of:
on a field trip i went on with school, we wisited a small island with a church and a museum. a part of said museum was filled with strange things from that island, one of them was the highlight everyone was talking about. the story was that this guy was originally from this island (or somewhere near it) but then moved (maybe to australia, can't remember) to work as a miner. he had an accident in the mines, and one of his fingers had to be amputated. he then continued to donate it to the museum, which showed this to a bunch of ten year olds. it still haunts my dreams.

Idk I had all my toes cut off as a child, and I know it's weird to most, but people who lose digits and limbs should have the bodily autonomy to decide what they do with them. Losing a part of yourself is a grieving process, but deciding to do something artistic with it can help you take ownership of the situation. It just feels a little to me like the ableds laughing at stuff beyond their ken.
