It should be noted Paul D'Amour the bassist left after this album to pursue his passion for guitar... He was succeeded by Justin Chancellor the god of bass tone
THE GRUDGE!!!! 🤞✌
If you want something recent, all their tracks off their newest album are a masterpiece! I suggest “pneuma” tho for the first song. And after you listen to pneuma, watch the Danny Carey live drum cam of that song. You’ll see why they call him ‘the octopus.’ Great reaction my man!
I’ve seen them live 3 times, it is like looking into the sun. All of them just shake you to the bones. Probably the best band ever… Glad you found them 🌀🤘
hope you got to watch the slow move into the background of tool shows by maynard over the years. early on he was in hot pants w/ fake tits and now its like a where's waldo on-stage.
LOVE this song!! He moves his body like he just wrings every note out of himself when he sings.
I can't tell you how many times i have said "Oh my God his voice" and I've been a TooL fan for 30 plus years (currently 55) this is a once in a lifetime type band man! The Grudge....46&2, Eulogy, Jimmy, Vicarious, Intolerance, Invincible, Right in Two....LATERALUS!
I'm with you there i started out in 93 with undertow, and I was 25, i will be 55 in July, and been to numerous shows, I've also been to many perfect circle shows, and all have been amazing,...........tool army est.1993...................
MAYNARD ROCKING the PINK ONESIE!
Now for a 3rd listen, you need to check out their official music video with the stop-motion animation. Very creative stuff, the handiwork of guitarist Adam Jones.
As much as you're loving this, I suggest you do the catalog, in order, so you can experience their progression.
Old tool is amazing…. This was their Alternative Rock phase. Their next album AEnima is definitely a step forward in their Progressive Metal phase
2 for one, damn dude....everyone should do this with live tracks. Great idea ✊🏽. Dope reaction man
Check out the studio version for Pneuma, then you can react to the infamous live video. Older Tool just gets better, like a fine wine.
After sampling their more recent song I would highly recommend to go back and start from the very beginning of their discography. They do not have one bad song, no exaggeration
Love to see ppl enjoy one of the greatest bands I have ever seen.
Maynard is so gifted he has 3 bands..
❤
Tool, Pucifer &
A Perfect Circle
Never gets old. Violently melancholic
Thank you for allowing us to re-experince the joy of Tool.
First time I saw Tool was in 92' at club in Hollywood called Club Lingerie. They hadn't broke yet and Rage Against the Machine opened for them, but the reason why we went to see them was their 4 track cassette demo that was given to me by a friend. I bring this up is because I think it is the best version of Sober out there. You can find it. It exists in digital form. This one on Undertow I call the Vegas version.
One of my favorite songs is Eulogy from the Aenima album...1996. They're all great songs from every album. Make a list, close your eyes, and point to one. You can't go wrong. Nice to see the excitement in your eyes when listening to these guys. Welcome again.
Very nice - back to back Sober - well done!
Since you are discovering Tool, listen to Vicarious or Pneuma.
Stinkfist have a really good chorus (and an incredible post-chorus)
Yes it is
Love that ya did em both and soaked up the lyrics, and man I LOVE that lone snare before the final 2 hits....splendid. Danny is hands down the most amazing drummer I've witnessed live. Their live versh of Zep's "No Quarter" is a must listen btw!
Very smart to do both versions but you should go straight to Tool’s channel for a more dynamic sound. This lyric version was not quite mono but not near as stereo dynamic as straight from the band. Subbed for the Tool. Keep it coming. It’s really cool seeing you discover them. Spiral 🌀 out
Tool will touch every crevasse of ones soul!
You can do the Danny Carrey drum cam version of Pneuma next ,this will
show you the famous drummer in action before you dive too deep into Tool!
Great review & reaction!..😎👍
😁💭
There's only one guy I've heard of that does a terrific cover of Sober. Leo Moracchioli from Norway. He can pretty much sing anything and does lol ❤
Pneuma!! It’s off their latest album. They also have a live drum cam video of Danny Carey
Lateralus is a masterpiece !
If you want recent... Do Pneuma next first studio then the Danny Carey drum cam... It's a 12 min song so 24 min total it may need 2 videos would love to see it all together tho... Or descending my favourite tool track
You nailed it about the 90's dude.I was 17 in '93 and it was a great time if not the best time for music..Not to mention CD's are still the best medium IMO .
He's staring at one person the whole song. Seriously.
You should absolutely check out "Parabol/Parabola" next. It will melt your face off.
2 for 1 is always good. Lots of good live Tool out there brother. Do Crawl Away next
I absolutely love this song and it’s not even Top 15 Tool song for me.
A more recent artist I’d rec is yeah yeah yeah’s. They also have one of the most charismatic front women in the game. My rec’s for first listens are a newer one -spitting off the edge of the world with perfume genius (an artist who made a song I spent a full year obsessed with, Queen). Other great songs would be sacrilege and warrior. They’re very ecelectic so they go from post punk to even more pop sounding songs with tracks like zero. There’s a lot of testosterone in the react genre so gotta rep the chicks some. Besides the yeah yeah yeah’s are just an amazing band.
He's a Tool fan now
Invincible or Pneuma from Fear Inaculum lp. Pneuma both, live version with drum cams and album version
his posture was reference to heroine addition and those body posture changes. The Grudge should be next.
Fear Inoculum, Invincible, and 7empest are amazinnnng. Off most recent album. Also, watch the famous drum cam video of Danny Carey. 😉
Great FN reaction 💯. Pnuema drum cam, pnuema drum cam, p uema drum cam, pnuema drum cam. You're welcome 🤘
I strongly suggest doing their studio songs over watching live performances on first listen. Don't get me wrong, Tool is the greatest band on the planet live but they don't "allow" recordings of their live shows so audio quality is often poor. That being said they do have an album that features a bunch of live recordings, Salival and their first EP Opiate has some live recordings as well. If you keep going down the Tool rabbit hole there will be songs where you'll want to listen to the studio version and then the live versions off of Salival because they do them differently and they are mind blowing. Pushit from Aenima and then the live version of Pushit from Salival for example.
Something else to note - a lot of their songs are meant to be played together and the ToolArmy gets pissed if you mess that up, so be careful LOL. Do yourself a favor and just do their entire catalogue starting from the beginning because the evolution of Tool is also mind blowing. They don't make a bad song.
Start from Opiate ep / full album. Just do all the albums in order!
Kudos for bringing up the lyric video. Especially when you want to dive in and unpack lyrics.
And "The Grudge"
In my opinion Tool's studio versions give them no justice , they are so much better live
😍💭
I absolutely love his performance art during this live version❤
Tool reactions should all be double videos - lyric vid and a live version. Love it!
The funny thing too is vocal coaches reacting to this talk about how horrible his posture is for singing this way and how difficult it is to execute that way. But he wanted to embody the song on stage and delivered a clean, powerful performance to boot
🤘🏻🌀
i know what to say...ill say it for you.....God Mode
danny carey - pneuma live drum cam
A couple more Tool recommendations if you’re interested- Aenema, and Stinkfist :)
if you want a thought provoking tool song then my best recommendation would be Vicarious. It's got a pretty obvious meaning behind the lyrics but damn is it a good song.
Welcome to Tool.... the band that always sounds as good live if not better than in studio
Paul the Bass player in the video is the only member not in the band since 1995. They upgraded in my opinion with Justin Chancellor when he joined in 1996.
Absolutely....Justins sound in my opinion represents them as much as Maynards voice!
Big kuddos to you. 1st reactor i have seen do back to back to compare. 🎉 Great reaction. Imagine being 14 and listening to this. You are right about the autotune reference. Next learn to swim Aenima or Stinkfist
Descending is a magnificent Tool song off their most recent album hope you try that one someday soon!
Ticks and Leeches by TooL should be your next reaction... buckle up and ride the spiral.
🌀👊🏻❤️🌀👊🏻❤️
It sounds almost exactly like the cd 😅
Why don’t you start with the first song off the newest album. Title track “Fear Inoculum” and just go through the whole album…..we will all be here for it!
Or if you really just want one song try
“Pneuma” or “Descending”
But just a heads up. Every Tool song you do is a Masterpiece……this band is full of perfectionist
jambi, stinkfist, grudge , pushit, jimmy go for it
the big things comin.. it's so interesting to follow your TOOL journey
you can't imagine how damn good tracks there are..
my personal top 3 TOOL albums: Fear Inoculum, 10000 days, Lateralus
but i think it would be good to hear "no quarter" cover for now..
anyway it's up to you, and it's cool to watch your reactions..
keep up!! spiral out !!
I hate when people say when the concert took place. Makes me feel so old
If you want a good chorus from a metal band then check out the studio of Cemetery Gates from the band Pantera
Live: Danny Pneuma Drumcam
Descending
Not before the studio version
🔥🔥🤘🏼👁🌀🌀🌀
Off the newest album, Pneuma or Descending is my suggestion
I’d say studio audio only versions. Beware the fan made lyric video’s - especially for 46&2. Tools videos are also distracting. The grudge, Schism, Lateralis, 46&2, Stinkfist, Vicarious, right in two, Pneuma, invincible… dude, there’s so much!
Fear Inoculum is the newest album but I encourage you to go back to 10,000 days album for Vicarious or Jambi.
You can throw a dart and not go wrong. Enjoy!
A like and subscribe for pronouncing 'Reading Festival' correctly :) 🤟
He's playing an addict
Parabol/Parabola and don’t you dare pause in the transition! And just so you know. I’m one of many that look constantly for being discovering this band. It’s legit my hobby. Enjoy.
Listen to the studio track first then the live drum cam
Comment for algorithm
try "bottom" next, it's off the same album, undertow....
Let's all say it in d flat:
Pneuma
Time for you to see Pneuma Drum Cam from latest album. Spiral Out Keep Going
I dont know why people suggest this without him knowing the original song first
Not before the studio version
..................................................tool army est. 1993................tool army est.1993................................
Pushit studio them Pushit live
Go thru every tool song. You will get views
You just needed Samara on guitar and pyjamaboi
I find it so hard to watch ppls reactions to this song cus I cant take my eyes off Maynard! lol I bcum transfixed
Maynard and the rest are not from this world…👽👽👽👽
They get way better trust me. This is easily!! One of their worst songs
One of their worst? I beg to disagree. Rosetta Stoned might be a wild trip and fan fave but imo I would listen to Sober over and over all day before I could force myself to listen to Rosetta Stoned even once. I love Tool but they have at least 3 songs I do not enjoy, maybe Sober is like that for you but I think it's a very powerful subversive song.
@Sharilyn Bratton yeah each to their own. Agreed Rosetta stoned is just ok. Same with Sober, Jambi and pneuma etc for me personally.
@@scrubsscrubs694 I'm that way with Invincible, I get that it's illustrating the struggle with time bearing down but for me it just gets too monotonous at the end and it's rare for me to become restless with a Tool song and just want it to be done.
how to make a successful reaction video: react to any Tool song
how to make a Fucking Great reaction video: add a second version of the song to the video
