Start from the beginning. You'll hear the band grow from album to album. 🤞✌️
@EmpReacts I’ve never heard such satisfying growth in my life than listening to TooL develop. Maynard, along with the band, start off gritty and angry, very visceral and raw. To see how they smooth out all the rough edges, and what brought about the change… is littered with integrity. It’s super rewarding. The artistry of these guys is unparalleled
I keep telling him this!
@@TraditionalHippie only one I could compare is dir en grey but they started more as rock and then with time kept getting harder and more into metal.
Tool Army approves this reply
"The longest scream I've ever heard in my life" - and he still does it every time in concert. As much as you love this band now, I promise you will enjoy the way they do this track live even more.
Not for 25 seconds anymore. But still any maynard scream is better than none
He stopped doing it for a couple years but he brought it back last tour thankfully
Don't worry, we all (Tool fans) knew you were gonna pause after THE scream.
June 2001, I walk into a FYE music store before my shift at The Cheesecake Factory and they had like 20 or so albums up on the wall with headphones to listen to them before you buy. I see the new Tool album and think the cover art is bizarre yet cool. I toss on the headphones and listen to The Grudge as the album opener. I proceeded to stand there and listen to this whole song thinking it was the best fucking thing I ever heard. Their preceding Aenima album is great but this was just a whole different level of a different kind of awesomeness. I listened to the song 3 times since I couldn’t pause or rewind. I walked in late to my shift because of this song! After I made enough money in tips, I ran over to the store to buy it so it couldn’t sell out. I couldn’t stop listening to it over and over. One of the best songs ever in my humble opinion and I love watching others react to it imagining myself the first time I heard it in that FYE store in 2001. Great reaction!
“Last pause until the end”
We know what’s coming 😆🤘🏻
YOU KNOW IT'S GOOD WHEN IT'S HEAVY AND YOU CAN SLEEP TO IT.
One of my great joys is watching people discovering and enjoying this music as much as We do. In fact it's the reason I came to your channel... I must agree with Richard, if you listen to the entire catalog it's cram jammed full of some of the best music ever made. Keep up the great work! TOOL Tuesday forever!!!
I totally agree. I feel like it's some new part of being a Tool fan for 25 years. I get so excited to see people discover them for the first time.
I started laughing when you mentioned the vocals were a cherry on top because I knew maynard was about to hit you with one of the most epic screams in music history. Love seeing someone get to experience tool for the first time.
TOOL. NIN. DEFTONES. RADIOHEAD. All of these bands are UNTOUCHABLE. Lateralus is one of the greatest albums ever written in my opinion.
Every tool fan has been waiting for you to do this song. Countdown to the scream in 3.....2.......1.....#mind blown #h@lycrap! I look forward to this one. Spiral out bro
Best reaction to The Scream ever. Just...pure awe. It's pretty much the same for me, even though I've been listening to them for over 2 decades. Greatest opener of the greatest album ever made. 👍👍
It is a amazing opener. But Intolerance, Stinkfist and Vicarious had to go to anger management for people saying that
DESCENDING! (From Fear Innoculum.)
Super entertaining reaction, thank you!
Subbed for TOOL! Greatest band ever. TOOL does not have a bad song.
In my head, that scream represents that moment when you finally throw that grudge you've been holding for ages away.
That sir was a 23 second sustained one note scream. I saw them do this live last year and Maynard still managed a 14 seconds one after getting COVID twice!
absolute LEGEND.
25 seconds actually. He tried to get to 30, but almost passed out at 27.
They have the tool lullaby collection that I played for my kids when they were young
I always love people's faces first time through that scream...halfway and the look is "Wait. What? He's *still going*?!" Priceless.
From Fear Inoculum-Descending-it is my fave Tool song, talk about instrumentals to totally lose yourself in! Also Pneuma is great off that album and 7empest is 16 minutes of pure insanity I know you will love it!
Yes, that was a full un-edited scream in the studio during the Lateralus recordings. He nearly did pass out at the end too.
They still are playing this song live on their current tour. Although many fans claim Mjk screams the full length live, its closer to 3/4 - which is still a very long scream! lol
You are missing out on the ALBUM EXPERIENCE.
SEGUES, INTERLUDES, BACKWARD MESSAGES, HIDDEN TRACKS, ALBUM ART, INCREDIBLE ENGINEERING.
Other than Pink Floyd, no one puts out a concept LP like TOOL! ✌️
So point on!!!
Best band in the world all 4 are just masterful! ❤ There's no other band like them nor will there be
What you said around 6:40 is the same exact experience every person who heard their first TOOL song goes through
TOOL ARMY checking in ✌️
Best album opener of all time
As it is amazing..Intolerance, Stinkfist and Vicarious would disagree
30+ year listener and they are the best band of my lifetime! I just saw them in Corpus Christi and they are as bad a** as ever!
lol, when you paused it where you did and said "this is the last pause" I immediately said "no, it won't be."
You did Pneuma from fear inoculum but descending is my favourite Tool song since the albums debut so ya check it out
Maynards scream to me felt like his demons where being exorcised, Tool are a once in a lifetime band. Great reaction bro
Check out their live LP SALIVAL. I recommend the track 'PUSHIT'. It's mind-bending. 🤞✌️
Disposition/Reflection/Triad…… must be listen to continuously 🙏🏻
Tool Army would probably get upset if you didn’t 😂🤣😇
It’s was once conceived as 1 song and was later broken down into 3 parts (songs) referred too as the resolution 🌀🌀🌀
“Spiral Out Keep Going” 🌀🌀🌀🌀
Among my favorite Tool tracks. I could listen to these 3 (holy Trinity) all day! My go to for my long commute.😊
YEAH THEIR PRETTY GOOD. 👍😉
hey did anybody see tools performance at the "Glass House" in Pomona California, back in 1996 ? it was epic Maynard...
Not live alas, but on the Tube! Kicks a$$
"I have nothing to throw", *panicked searching*, got me laughing pretty good🤟🤟🤟
Descending, Invincible, and 7empest all from FI album - all masterpieces. Must-reacts.
7empest is one of the last songs he should react to IMO.
Emp: "The vocals are just a cherry on the top."
The Vocals: 10:30
😂
100% IN for this Tool journey man. Tool changed my life, no joke, these guys are phenomenal. Their music never fails to pull me out of a dark place
The face during the scream. Priceless 😂
The scream that renders you speechless...........
Very few times that happens. 😂
Have you been listening to the songs you’ve reacted to? A lot of these songs take a couple handfuls of listens to fully get it.
Once you catch their rhythms you’ll then be able to pick out the nuances and intricacies.
This band is genius.
And if you’re into such things, definitely take a listen while your consciousness is in an altered state 🌀
🤘🏻🌀 & Go Caps!!!!
The fresh sounds are 4 to 30 years old. Lol. ✌️💯🔥
Possibly my favorite tool song. At least til the next one comes on.
Invincible from fear Inoculum
Love your reaction. This one is now my new favorite one you have done.
From Fear Inaculum: Pneuma (both Danny Carey live and studio version), Invincible, Descending and Culling Voices
Descending might be high on the list of the best songs ever composed.
“I was expecting maybe like a little heavier” 😆😆😆😆
@9:58 Maynard says, "Hold my beer."
Btw, the music blowing you away right is great. Once the lyrics seep in, it's next level. That's what happened to me at least. 🤘🏼
He really can do that scream I've seen him do it live crazy man
I saw this and grabbed my headphones because %&@# yeah. WHAT PREMIER is 11 hours from now. Fine! Watch it in the morning. This is part of the TOOL peak. 30 yr fan, favorite song of musician world wide. 🌀 👁🗨 See you in the morning
That’s the reaction I was hoping for. Thanks mang
I'll join the pile on: Start from Opiate EP and work your way up. You won't regret it my friend. Tool fans will come. You said it best at the end, "Oh hell yeah!"
Another awesome reaction!..👍
25 second scream. You did well😂
Dude! I love my chihuahua Jupiter! Careful with how far you take this 😅
Epic Band !!!
Just start from the beginning and go from there
I think you should listen to 4° next here soon. Great ass song but it gets slept on alot.
Favorite song!!!
try the holy grail, disposition/reflection/triad, all 3 in a row :)
Here for it !
Don’t sleep on The Witness by Adam Jones, Danny Carey and Justin Chancellor… basically instrumental TOOL
Choose to let this gooooooooo...
The Grudge insane song! This whole album is incredible 💯🔥🚒💪😈🥁
If you’re looking for just the instrumentals, look up The Witness. Adam Jones did a special song for a new Gibson and both Danny Carry and Justin Chancellor are on the track. It’s essentially Tool just without Maynard. The song has such a great vibe
OOL
One of my favorites from Tool! From Fear Inoculum you should hit Decsending or Invincible.
Yeah...we knew you would pause again at the 26 sec scream...its notorious.
You might like The Holy Trinity next. Disposition/Reflection/Triad all together off Latetalus. As long as youre talking about instrumentals...that is.
Edit: Invincible off FI is good...7empest....Descending...theyre all good. But you did already do Pneuma which is off FI.
My mom remembers everything about the day JFK was assassinated. What she was wearing, where she was, and the emotions she felt. Like her, I recall exactly where I was, what I was wearing, and what I was thinking when I first heard Tool. It’s the latter I would like to focus on--my buddy put on “Forty Six & 2”. I remember thinking “Holy fuck! Who are these guys? They’re not singing about the usual dumb, played out shit that everyone else drones on about in idiotic uniformity! I finally found musical brilliance I can relate to!”
However, along with that, I felt disheartened. I felt that way because I quickly realized that I would/will never be as good at anything the way Tool is at their craft. Jordan to basketball. Gretzky to hockey. Garry Kasparov to chess...Tool to rock music.
Lol im so excited to see your face for the scream and you paused it! Then your face made it worth the wait! 😂 the scream was them smacking you in the face! There is that moment in every tool song!
That scream length...show me one better. X
Checkout "Jerk Off" or "Opiate" from the Opiate EP, or "Pneuma" Drum Cam or "Invincible" from Fear Inoculum. Any of those will knock your socks off.
One of my favorites (a bit older) is "Aenima". 😏
You're not the only one who says that then does that 😂
Go ahead and let it out! Let go! Fun to see how Maynard works himself up before he does this scream live.☺️
Pneuma or Tempest from Fear Innoculum.
I'm enjoying watching you on your Tool journey. I look forward to Tooldays too!
Start from the beginning and see the evolution - Opiate EP
If you have to listen to something from Fear Inoculum, I would suggest Invincible.
Now you need to do the most creative and crazy Tool song. Lost Keys/ Rosetta Stoned. Alien abduction!! Gotta have the lyrics because Maynard goes crazy!
EMP, you " MUST DO " Bottom from undertow, where it all began back in 1993,.. you have to crawl before you walk.....tool army est.1993....tool army est.1993...........tool army est.1993.....
I love Crawl Away and Swamp Song but I love all of the songs
@@davidward9737 agreed
Deep breaths, my man 😁 Great reaction 🤝
You should do the Opiate title track or Invincible off of FI. Also, you did Pneuma already which is off of FI.
Yup…
CAPS CAPS CAPS
Badassery
Did he say Tool Tuesday?? Sub
You have to do Sweat off Opiate
Do opiate next! Although I agree with another commenter, start at the beginning and work your way though the catalogue
If your gonna check out the FI album next it’s gotta be Pneuma bro! Enjoy!🌀
You're lucky I like you, almost unsubscribed because of the Caps jersey! JK, Go Flyers!
Do Pneuma
Comment
Please, don't call Tool "Grungy".
Tool to me in 6 dimensional Metal.
Always 6 steps ahead of every other band out there.
And it's just heavy enough.
Learn to Swim and Spiral Out...
They sound always the same you heard one song you heard all tool sorry don't buy this music is repeating the same music sing after song
Eulogy ppppppppplease or undertow or anything you haven't heard lol😂 you'll never be disappointed
I 2nd Eulogy it is in my top 5 but I love Pushit and Aenima. Me personally every album is gold but Aenima is my favorite to each their own
@@davidward9737 push it is also in my top 5 with right in two and lost keys Rosetta stoned
Do you feel the reality of “Hey I should shut up. I’m full of shit compared to this art..” Before, during, or after your commentary?!?
