I love Aldi’s sliced can carrots, sweet peas, tomato juice and any canned tomatoes of any kind. Can’t beat the quality and price.
Did my yearly haul yesterday, we are a family of 2 and I spent at Aldi's $200.00. Combine with all stores it was $1000. We make our own tomato based condiments so what I bought yesterday was more back up items, cleaning/laundry/hygiene items. I'm good for a year now with the exception of milk that we still buy every 2-weeks and get that at Kwik Trip
I feel that if I do a large haul 1 time a year, I spend less and I am not at the store weekly or biweekly

You can freeze nuts. If you don't have a lot of freezer space, pack in smaller baggies that moold shape easily between other items
You can vacuum seal them as well and they last a lot longer than just loose

Great haul! I wish we had an Aldi close to us. We live in NE Louisiana. We went to Aldi for the first time when we were on vacation in TN a couple of weeks ago. The only things I got to bring home was a case of the organic catsup because you said it was so good and a case of the diced tomatoes. Last week we drove 2 hours 15 minutes into Mississippi to do a massive stockup at Costco. We stopped in Aldi there and got another case of the catsup. Thankfully and hopefully by the end of the year or early next year, Aldi is opening a store in Shreveport, LA. It will be more than an hour from us but we go to Shreveport much more than MS. I think we all had better continue to fill our pantries as much as possible. I am very, very concerned about the future. Not panicking but being extra smart.

@@HeartwayFarms Yes I would call it wisdom! I am taking a break this weekend from canning and switching gears to putting our Azure stockpile in mylar bags. I have 225 lbs. of organic hard white wheat, 75 lbs. of organic cane sugar, and 25 lbs. organic rolled oats. Plus 80 lbs. basmati rice from Sam's Club. I already have a lot of five gallon buckets filled for daily use but these bags have been sitting here since March and I really need to deal with them for longer term storage. Even though I am not feeling well, I have my husband and daughter here all weekend so it will be a great time for doing this. I still have a long list of canning to do before Fall but I will get it done. Continuing to keep a minimum of 12-18 month supply of food and household supplies. Using, rotating and replacing constantly.
@@ColleenH38sounds like you are doing good on preparing for the future. Don't forget to stock up on things like books for all things that you use the Internet for, OTC meds, herbs, medical supplies and consumable things like batteries, light bulbs, automotive items... Another great place to follow is Appalachia's Homestead with Patara. She's great at letting us know what's going on in the world and how we can best stay up to date and prepared. Good on you for keeping your head up and doing what you can. A little bit every day goes a long way!!
Impressive! We shop at Aldi weekly...but often spend $150/wk plus on a family of 3. With our farmers market in full swing, we are getting what we can while its in season. I batch prep veggies to keep in the freezer, and buy a little meat at the farmers market too. Really cuts down on grocery trips.😊
My hubby's family came over for a fish fry and they were all impressed with just how much stockpile I have in the space of 3 closes closets! When my youngest daughter bought her first house, we planted an apple tree. 8 years later, the apples are the sweetest ever! Love Aldi!

I haven’t used Aldi as a stock up yet, thanks for showing your haul! I have used them for weekly staples like eggs, milk, cheeses, NeverAny hams and produce. I’ve gotten great deals on pork ribs, chicken, and steelhead trout. Kids love the ready to cook pizzas 🍕
We are finally getting an Aldi in our nearby town. We had them in Virginia, but since moving to Arkansas we haven't had them close enough.

We love trader Joe's, that's the only of the Aldi brand we have near us , but their prices are actually beating out our other discount stores lately! Love their stuff.
Good haul, good prices. I just bought some butter on sale the other day and it was 4.50 USD, regular5.75....cool thing for me it only had cream and salt. None of the other stuff. My tuna is a quite a bit more because I buy from our West coast fishery and they do it as a co-op. Canned in its own juices. Vinegar was on sale for 2.11 USD for 4 litres (about a gallon) so picked up a few more of those. Thing that bugs me is that a 20 Litre jug (5 gallon) of water is 5.49 or 4.14 USD - but gotta have it for coffee and doing this next box of cherries. Thanks for sharing. Good job Jessie for helping Mom.

What you are calling the expiratiin dates are also known as the sell by dates to get them off of store shelves. The only time I "use" them as suggested expiration dates is for dairy or fresh meat products. If you keep those in a super cold fridge or in freezee you can go past those dates as well.
If you use your eyes & nose you will be able to judge if it's still good ir not.

all grains go in the freezer, due to Boll weevils. Oatmeal, flour, rice, brown and white sugar I live in Florida I don't know how to get rid of them.
With the short expire dates on my latest purchases,I could never use most products fast enough B4 expire. When I lived in N.E. I never had problems like I do now living in dry Southwest.
Really love aldi but there prices are pretty much the same as Walmart now so I stopped shopping there as much as I was. I always stop there first to check out what they have but everything is just so expensive everywhere

we grow our own veggies can our own tomato ,apple sauce . make our own jams relish salsa ketchup honey maple syrup grow some spices . make our own both for soups chickens for meat and eggs . freeze and can meat we hunt and fish . buy a cow and pig from local butcher . still have to buy sugars flour rice etc from store

You may already be aware of this but the 'expiration date' isn't really an expiration date. The date is a 'best by' date. The item doesn't go bad on that date it is just a better quality up to that date.

We have a grocery store called Save a Lot in our town and it’s cheaper than Aldi.

They are also adding more genetically modified foods. Got to read the packaging
🇦🇺With the nuts put them in glass with an oxygen absorber and vacuum seal to keep fresh longer.
You're actually not supposed to put oxygen absorbers in with things like nuts and seeds. Because of their oils, botulism can grow. You can repack and use moisture absorber or freeze for later.

Fruit strips you will find has lots of sugar we have some thing the same roll ups so disgusting gum and sugar for taste not much fruit

I wouldn’t buy Aldi I find I don’t like them I can’t do a weeks shopping the variety at Aldi is very poor not much. Between brands so I only shop at one supermarket as they mark down stuff every day if it’s meat. Fruit what ever the other day I got 260 grams baby carrots 25 cents
