This is hilarious!! My hubby and I are doing a Costco and Aldi haul tomorrow. Dang, I wish I could watch this before. I’ve never shopped at Aldi. I’m super excited. Yes, I’m one of these weird people that actually enjoy grocery shopping. 😂 I will enjoy seeing this after I return though! ❤
I live in Kalundborg in Denmark a very pretty very old city spread out like a string of pearls along the coast with an ancient church ( Vor Frue Kirke ) built from 1170 to 1220. I love your channel and watch almost every video. Here in Denmark food prices are also going up rapidly and sadly Aldi is shutting down it's shops in our little country. We usually always buy organic but due to the sky rocketing prices of everything here we have had to start buy a few things non organic. Sadly I do not have the health to garden but I love to watch you and your family on your beautiful homestead with all those happy animals.
We’re in Michigan, so definitely a cooler climate, and we grow sweet potatoes. I’ll say it was a game changer when we started growing them in a raised bed. We don’t have super deep raised beds, just the depth of field rocks, but I think the loose soil and depth of the raised bed are the trick! I also, put them in a location with a good amount of daily sun.
Annie, I would love a video on how you meal plan. I know there are a lot of resources out there about it, but it seems like there are so many different methods.
@that1870shomestead has videos on sweet potatoes. They are located in MI. We are in Northern IN and I am so excited to see if our sweet potatoes grow this year ❤
Beautiful video. I start mentally going through my pantry and cellar while watching you. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing that you have ingredients for family meals.
We love Costco nuts. For longer storage, we repackage into vacuum bags or quart jars. Also, we blend the dried mushrooms into a powder and use to flavor so many things. We are not fond of the rehydrated texture of whole dried mushrooms. If you want mushroom chunks, pulse blend. Really enjoyed your comments.
If you can find a local asian market most of them sell pucks of ramen made with wheat, buckwheat, oats. They are simple ingredients with no nasty ingredients. Oat is my favorite.
I got those mushrooms at one point. They stay chewy after rehydration so I ended up blending them into small pieces and I sprinkle them in sauces and soups.
You also have a fan from Australia. Any other aussies here? So wish azure standard was here in Australia. Also you should check out simply living Alaska. They grow all their fresh and preserved food in 4 months.
Costco has a great price on a 3 pack of quarts of Apple cider vinegar. Last time I bought them it cost $7.99 for the 3 bottles which are glass. I save the glass bottles for homemade vinegars.
Hey! I saw your comments during the premiere. Thank you! I just ordered some sweet potato slips and we are going to get them in the ground as soon as they arrive. Do you grow them in a standard garden or in a greenhouse/high tunnel?
@@HeartwayFarms we plant right in the garden, no cover. we make a hill in our dirt about 2' wide and 10" tall approx. and however long we have plants to fill. Then we make a double staggered row , putting a plant every 18" or so. When I was growing up we always just weeded them a couple times, then the vines took over and you didn't need to weed. But now I like to use wood mulch on my no till beds, so I just plant them in the soil and then mulch up around them. Being a root crop you want to be careful to not use too much nitrogen, or you'll mostly get vines :) Just as a funny memory, once when I was a kid my mom had us plant 200 slips one yr, and we harvested over a ton of sweet potatoes...we got super tired of eating them that year!!
I continually stock up by adding things to my weekly shopping list as I use them. Ex: tonight it's spaghetti so I'll add spaghetti, ground beef, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes to the list. Just putting it out there if big stock ups are intimidating to some. And its easy to build a pantry of things you'll actually eat by getting 2 or 3 or 4 of each!
I live in Cyprus and groceries here seem very inexpensive, especially fresh fruits and veg and spices, anything that can grow on Cyprus is really affordable. I just checked flour and organic flour is less than 80 cents a pound.
I’ve used the dried mushrooms before. I really like them. I will say, dried mushrooms aren’t always super comparable to fresh. They do have a stronger, more intense mushroom taste so if you’re a mushroom lover, they’re great. They do take some time to rehydrate. I put mine in a bowl, pour boiling water over to cover them plus an inch or two, then put a plate over the top and let them steep for 20-30 minutes. You will end up with dehydrated mushrooms plus a rich mushroom broth that’s great to add to all kinds of things. As for what I like the mushrooms in: they’re great in risotto, rice pilaf, soups, stews, and I also like to add them to chicken pot pie. They’re also great for all kinds of homemade Asian dishes and I will make homemade hot and sour soup with them.
This is also around the time of year we would buy bigger purchases and stock up for the year because of tax returns. (Not this year for us unfortunately, but in future years yes!) I think it's great you've stocked up!

Azure is more than double that price for oats. $20 plus shipping for a 5 lb bag. Maybe a larger bulk is cheaper, but the sprouted oats are healthier. So I get the Costco sprouted oats instead of the Azure oats.
I paid $4.59 for 1 dozen jumbo eggs. I took hubby in the store Saturday and he was shocked at the prices. I usually don't take him, he always spends more than I do. Until now! I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT KETCHUP AND BARBECUE SAUCE!
I don't know what Annie does for long-term storage of flour, but we put it in my locker bags with an oxygen absorber and then in a bucket. I've heard it will last for 10 years that way. Whereas the actual grain will last 25 to 30 years with the same method. Hope this helps
I bought the dried mangoes on your recommendation yesterday. I really like them, my husband is not a fan. I almost bought the mushrooms. I would to love to have a review of them.
I'm slightly ashamed to admit how quickly we go through the dried mango :-) but we store all of our dried fruit in a 5 gallon bucket with a sealed lid to keep critters out.
Good morning Annie and family, I love your hauls! I wanted to know if you could share your tuna salad recipe. I couldn't tell exactly everything that was in it. Julianne should consider writing her own cookbook for Heartway Farms. I have seen so many of your meals over the year and thought I would like to have dinner with them! LOL have a blessed week!🤗⚘🌞
Here in southwest Idaho we have plenty of Bud Light, so we can really stock up on it. The problem is, no one is doing so. I am tempted to offer the store one dollar per case. They would make very fun targets.
A good reminder about nuts. I have kept a well stocked Pantry since the pandemic to save shopping often. The one thing I find that does go out of date before we get to use them is nuts. I am more careful how I use them now 😊

I’ve been wanting to try Azure but I work full time. I’m off summers so will have time to meet the truck. My question is-Is delivery day & time the same each month? Our pickup is about an hour drive.
So it's 9 at night and I am finally getting to watch. I love Azure. I do like to order from them but I have been really liking Costco. I make all our breads and treats too and I bought a crazy amount of their unbleached organic flour. I find that it is reasonably priced and we seem to have no issues eating the unbleached organic flour. Today was the first day for me to shop at Aldi and I didn't like it. We went to one in Florida. For one it was freezing in the store and I rarely get cold.😅 I will not be going back. You did a great haul!! It's always so nice to have your fridge/freezers and pantry stocked.

Can you please explain how to get involved with Azure Standard? I looked at the website but a little confused about minimum orders and drop off locations. Thanks!
If you get into the Azure Website you first pick/search for a drop location near you. That will give you info on where the closest pick up is. There is no minimum order. You place your order and they let you know when and where that pivk up will be. Also, they have great customer service so you can call them up and someone will talk you think the process too😊
Great video Annie. We can’t get a lot of organic stuff at our Costco but I do the best I can. So it’s all good. I would love to find that lemon juice though. Hopefully we will get it at our Costco soon. Thanks🇨🇦🌷
I love the Aldi organic ketchup. I grab a bottle almost every trip. I could make ketchup but the Aldi organic is good and cost effective. We buy the Aldi organic coffee beans from Guatemala, my husband loves that coffee and I think it might be cheaper than Azure. It's only 1 person drinking it here, but he makes a pot every day. Another item that goes in my cart every trip. I'm going to check out the Costco lemon juice and brown rice & millet ramen noodles. Especially as I'll be taking care of my granddaughter soon and ramen will make a good, healthy lunch with my home canned stock and veggies. My daughter in law wasn't super impressed with the dried mushrooms, but I thought they were ok. They will work in a pinch. Might be time to try growing/buying shrooms in bulk and freeze drying or dehydrating them for back-up. Thanks for sharing your haul.
Im just wondering why you are putting the mushrooms in a glass container as i use those large plastic containers for some of my goods, is it to protect from rodents maybe?? Im in the UK❤
We say pop too 👍🏼☺️ native Pennsylvanian here 😏 My husband and I lived in NC for awhile and people kept telling me I should probably say Drink or Coke and Said, "oh no, I'm not southern so it's pop for me!!!" You can't take pop out of a northern girl 😊🥤 lol if you say Drink here in Southern Indiana you will get a beer handed to you.
I was flummoxed during a trip to Dallas, trying to order pizza delivery. They kept asking me what kind of Coke I wanted. I was like, “I don't want Coke.” 😂
@@Kat_WD yes, lol! Coke is a definite kind of Pop, not just any soda drink :) Pop is actually one of the 1st terms used for all flavors and kinds when the cans or bottles came out :) because of the sound opening them made.
heres a tip about the dates on tin can food they are not exiration dates they are dates that the store can legally sell them they are called best by or use by canned food can last up to about 2yrs after the best by or use by dates but nuts and yeast and chocolate last longer in the freezer just a tip to use and please stop saying exiration dates when they are best by or use by dates with the exception with milk that will go bad two days after the date on the milk
Quick comment, please don't take this wrong, but did you ever try not lining under your eyes with eyeliner? You have really pretty eyes but I think the black eyeliner is making you look older, trying to put this in the nicest way possible :)
I have always enjoyed your videos and I don't like giving negative comments but a comment you made in this video really bothered me. I"ve mulled it over for days now, deciding if I should say anything... I know you meant what you said in a nice way but it came across as a put-down. When you were talking about the flour, you said if people can't afford quality flour because of their budget to go ahead and stock up on that low budget flour. Ok, that in it's self wasn't bad, but then you went on to say " thank the Lord we are able to afford the good quality, organic flour" . Kind of a slap in the face to people who are struggling to make ends meet---you eat the junk while I eat the good organic flour because I can afford it. Maybe I"m wrong, correct me if I am. It just bothered me...
Hi Lisa! I was making the point that I'm grateful for every blessing the Lord has given us. Right now we can afford organic flour and there have been other times (many times) when we haven't been able to afford organic food...and that's ok. Be thankful in lack and in abundance. I've had people comment on videos that they don't stock up simply because they can't afford organic food. I always recommend stocking up the best you can with the resources the good Lord has blessed you with, no matter what season of life you are in. We always want to be an encouragement to others and hopefully, if you watch us consistently, you know that and choose to give us the benefit of the doubt in situations like this. Have a blessed week!
I used to love watching these huge grocery hauls and I don’t believe you post it to rub anyone’s face in it, but with the state of the economy and inflation it just feels a bit much to title it “our biggest haul ever”. I know we all have the choice of watching or not and I have to say lately I’ve chosen not.
We have no idea how many months they save back money to even be able to go do a haul and restock 🙂 I have a budget and if I don't use all the food budget then I can set it back in a envelope and if I keep doing that then some months later I have enough for a haul 🙃🙂
Really I think it's a personal heart issue. I hear bitterness and resentment in your writing. I personally don't have alot of money myself to shop like that but I enjoy seeing what others buy and what they do with it. If you are trying to stock up you can buy a few items at a time, slow and steady wins the race. Best of luck to you.
It's not wrong. Most people get tax return this time of year though- that they've been paying into all year! A lot of families actually plan their bigger purchases around tax return season, it gets it out of the way and you can budget better for the year and avoid debt. Whether or not they bought this with tax return money (it doesn't matter!) I think it's really wise they are stocking up.
Oh my goodness! Your helper is just a treasure!!!!
Jessie was such a great little helper at the store helping Momma to load the cart. WTG Jessie.

Yes, big fan of both. Azure does have it's quirks but I still like supporting them.
Question is WHY?
Need to make spaghetti sauce this year
I keep my nutsinthe freezer
Who is Julianne?!
Coffee at $9.99 a pound times 10 pounds plus 2 bags. Did the coffee alone cost $200.00 hundred bucks. Wow
It was 5 lb bags
We say pop too 👍🏼☺️ native Pennsylvanian here 😏
My husband and I lived in NC for awhile and people kept telling me I should probably say Drink or Coke and Said, "oh no, I'm not southern so it's pop for me!!!" You can't take pop out of a northern girl 😊🥤 lol if you say Drink here in Southern Indiana you will get a beer handed to you.
Exactly 😂😂😂
I was flummoxed during a trip to Dallas, trying to order pizza delivery. They kept asking me what kind of Coke I wanted. I was like, “I don't want Coke.” 😂
@@Kat_WD yes, lol! Coke is a definite kind of Pop, not just any soda drink :) Pop is actually one of the 1st terms used for all flavors and kinds when the cans or bottles came out :) because of the sound opening them made.
heres a tip about the dates on tin can food they are not exiration dates they are dates that the store can legally sell them they are called best by or use by canned food can last up to about 2yrs after the best by or use by dates but nuts and yeast and chocolate last longer in the freezer just a tip to use and please stop saying exiration dates when they are best by or use by dates with the exception with

Another great video thank you
Thank you so much!
I could never eat ALL that food in my lifetime!
You spent an entire minute on ketchup.
Quick comment, please don't take this wrong, but did you ever try not lining under your eyes with eyeliner? You have really pretty eyes but I think the black eyeliner is making you look older, trying to put this in the nicest way possible :)
Thank you for your comment. Most days I don't wear eyeliner at all...just mascara:) I'll definitely consider what you said ❤️
I have always enjoyed your videos and I don't like giving negative comments but a comment you made in this video really bothered me.
Yes, absolutely your choice. Have a blessed day!
@@denisedurham9385 i agree.
Hi do u have a cookbook for sale
