Jessica, I canned some broth with veggies in it but the steam was coming out of the little thing that lets you know it's locked instead of from the gasket. The gasket never shook but I kept going and proceeded to keep it on for the 90 mins. They sealed ,but I'm not sure it ever got up to pressure since it was steaming from the wrong place of the 16qt pressure canner. Should I discard the food? 😮

The Berry Fruitful is my favorite! Takes me back to my childhood. We only ever had oatmeal, eggs, shredded wheat or raisin bran. I would add homemade strawberry jam when I wanted the sweetness. When we visited family in Georgia they had fruity pebbles and I was in shock that it was considered breakfast. It was definitely a culture shock and a sugar rush😂

So we bought 4 19-20lb turkeys and now I’m canning it today. I also have 2 roaster fulls of turkey carcasses for broth going! We have our own chickens, but couldn’t pass up on the price! One thing that I figured out later than I wished was to use very small condiment Bowles on each plate for maple syrup. It always uses less than pouring it directly on the food. We now use them for ketchup and BBQ sauce for dipping with the same result. My daughter got some plastic condiment cups from Amazon that slip onto the side of the plate that her children will use any chance they get without realizing it's great portion control.

That's a great product, when mine were little I would use the paper cups (tiny little things McDonalds give out so that you can fill them with Ketchup , BBQ sauce etc - not sure if you have in America) I would * acquire them 😂 and use for sauces. They loved the novelty of them and not realise I was controlling the amount.
I'm always shocked at how American pour so much maple syrup on pancakes, not in judgment, just that it incredibly expensive in the Uk.

I love how you break everything down. I’m not concerned whether it’s healthy or not for my family as I know the good food that we do have on hand, and that we preserve is by far better quality than a few convenience items that we buy occasionally. I also love that you share what things that you use for gluten-free or nondairy families. Often it’s hard to find a good resource out there and you have explained so well these items. Having a RUclips channel like you do and I have myself, we tend to get criticized over certain things we provide for our family. You are a fantastic RUclipsr, and I always send people your way! On another note, I did use your four jars discount code today as the black Friday prices allow you to also use your shopper code. Thank you so much! Have a blessed Christmas and as always laugh as much as you breathe.

I went into overdrive last month and I'm avoiding the grocery stores now until January. I only order Azure 3x a year so my orders are very large. Everyone at the drop laughs because my name is called out so much😅 but I hate meeting the truck so we do a very large order to make it worth our time. Spot on with the empty calories. Not judging anyone, I understand busy families. My grands will get here in the morning after my kids have fed them breakfast and they are always hungry. Grandma makes them sit and eat a good meal with protein and healthy fats. Keeps them out of the kitchen until lunch. God bless the families.
I can't imagine having to feed a family in these times.

Jessica I've noticed with Azure that they charge a pretty hefty shipping charge for bulk things like apples or in your case potatoes.. did you include that in your break down of charges? I was going to buy a case of apples but they estimated a additional $10 something on to the shipping? I liked this video to show more of a variety of what Azure has and how it will be used. It depends on where you live. Some places don't have a charge. Here in Ohio there is an additional 8.5% of your order total for delivery. But you also earn Azure cash on your order that you can apply to future orders, which covers a lot of that delivery fee.

It is funny to me that some people are so fearful of raw produce like egg or meat. In Germany, many people eat raw pork (google Mett), fish or raw egg like in mayo. It is just not recommended during pregancy.

Any recommendations on how to ease away from cereals? I'm trying to gently ease them away. Sunday mornings, we make either a ton of pancakes or waffles and freeze thme for the week, but I need something I can prep ahead and keep them full.

Crazy prices. I’m not that far from Ohio and the last time I shopped at my local ALDI about three months back, that ketchup was $1.69. Food inflation is 10x what they say it is.

Good morning. We are not a dairy free family nor have I tried the coconut milk yogurt which is the perspective my question derives. Can the coconut milk yogurt be frozen? Or is it icky when it is thawed? Or does the flavor change? Or does it destroy the cultures? Just curious since it is expensive and, mainly, the short expiration date. Thank you for another really interesting video.

    • @threerivershomestead

The cultures can survive. I have only tried freeze drying it and the texture is great when rehydrated.

I bought a Chefwave nut milker. It only takes 9 almonds or 9 cashews to make roughly (slightly less) a quart of nut milk. There is zero pulp leftover. It was a great investment for me as I am dairy free.

5 1/2 TBS of unsweetened shredded coconut makes almost a quart.
1 1/2 TBS of oats ( steel cut, rolled, or old fashioned) makes almost a quart.
