This six minutes took me 4 months to animate working full time. lol!
I can see why this won so many awards. This is by far the best short film I've ever seen. It's very inspirational and it made me think. The animation is gorgeous, too.
(Also: I felt a twinge of sadness when the skeleton-thing died, and when the narrator said "Don't be sad; it had to end this way" I almost spat out my tea.)
Mata Turtle the narrator is Gary Numan
The ship is called ODOCO (for obvious reasons if you watch the film) the skeleton is an "Odokuro". They are similar that's all.
to this day, the "Don't be sad, it had to end this way." line always gets me. it makes me happy, it's genuinely changed my perspective about death and mourning... beautiful movie
This was like Tim Burton meets The Twilight Zone! I love the animation! When his eyes said FU that made me laugh!

The ending is so Twilight Zone-ish. This whole story is very beautiful with a dark touch. I love how it ended with showing that, no matter how different we may think we are, we all end the same way. This really makes me want to write something.
It's like watching an episode of The Twilight Zone mixed with the stop motion animation of both Phil Tippet and Ray Harryhausen. Excellent and thought provoking at the same time
Well that was awesome! Seeing Gary Numan’s name in the credits surprised the hell from me but did make sense, and then Larry Fessenden’s name seemingly came up to finish the job! Just wonderful stuff.

This was simply amazing. All of it, from start to finish, is a work of art. Not that I expected anything less, but it truly is a masterpiece. Very, very well done.
For a black & white film this was surprisingly very visually pleasing. I also immensely enjoyed the subtle bits of humor. Overall an excellent stop motion film.
And people say black and white movies aint good no more.

Very clever, some interesting and subtle additions in there, the cassette box of replicas, the glint of creation in the eye, the F and U and I think deliberate mistake with the portable reel to reel very well done sir.
