      You have to understand that every hard beating of the drums is a Reciprotation of the mental stae and emotions of character at that moment in the song so there are no mistakes whatsoever every hard or fast beating of the drums is 100% designed for not just all of their songs but the characters in the songs...that is why Metallica is the GOAT of a Symphony Metal Band...they literally are their own Symphony already by their self 😎 🤘

      I think that it is my favorite Metallica song. So much feel and emotion to it. They grew as musicians. I really respected that. And defended them back in the 90's because of it. But the so called fans just wanted the old stuff. They went back to the older style. And now they sound like a cover band of their former (and old school) self.

    Hetfield is an interesting singer, and a reluctant one, he never really wanted be a vocalist at the beginning of Metallica but has developed and improved his singing ability from just yelling and screaming to what you see now, he may not the best technical singer but hes a very expressive one. I think his true genius lies in his song writing ability and how he comes up with guitar riffs/arrangements and lyrics/ vocal lines.

    Load got so much hate because it wasn't like the older albums. If you separate the preconceptions about Metallica from this album and just listen to it for what it is, it's actually quite good. There's some really good songs on Load and, to a lesser extent, Reload.

    • @jw11432
      @jw11432 5 лет назад +25

      Absolutely agree that Load/Reload got hate due to its departure from their signature sound. I was fortunate enough to have been introduced to Metallica shortly after Reload came out, specifically with the song Fuel. I gorged on Reload, as it was my first Metallica album, listening to it over and over, loving each track (with exception to Low Mans Lyric, at the time). So I would say each are synonymous in terms of song quality, but that's just my opinion.

    Uh, interesting. Don't think I've ever seen anyone react to James Hetfield before. He's actually matured a lot as a vocalist throughout the years and even though he's not as aggressive now as he used to be, I quite enjoy his live performances. Gonna be interesting to take a look at this :D

Point about him not being as aggressive kinda still stands, given the late 90s and 2000s feel like the period where he sorta switched off his trashy style, though, at least based on what I've seen of them.

    The late Maestro Michael Kamen conceived this pairing of MetallicA and the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and he composed the entire orchestra’s accompaniment.
    And - a DEFINITE FIRST for MetallicA fans - it was a sit-down venue. Fun mix of conservative rich classical music folks with headbangers. It was such a great crowd and they came together on the musical fusion . 💕

    Yay!!!! Thanks for reacting to my request! It is really cool to hear what you think about James Hetfield as a singer, because he has really never considered himself a singer. He has referred to himself as a guitar player who sings because they needed a singer. As other people in the comments have mentioned, he blew out his vocal cords while recording the Black Album in the early 90's, and ended up getting a vocal coach and a warm up routine that he still uses before shows. The conductor, Michael Kamen (RIP), provided some strings for a Metallica song called Nothing Else Matters and then they approached him about doing a whole show with the San Francisco Symphony. They are actually repeating this concert this year on September 5th to celebrate 20 years since the original S&M concert. This concert is incredible, I think there are a lot of other songs from it that you would enjoy, if you ever have the time.
