I’m not sure how everyone’s lives are today, but here’s to the time in our lives, in where this game was our world. That magical world, Jak the coolest guy ever, Daxter the funniest and most loyal friend, missions, puzzles that challenged us to our core, a huge open world. People who develop games, music, and imagination for kids, really give us a timeless and cherished gift.
This game is my personal favorite game of all PS2 games. The characters, story, gameplay, mechanics, soundtrack, atmosphere, world were all amazing for such console. Being an 8 years old seeing something like this for the first time brought hundreds of joy every morning I played it.
I have a lot of words to express so if you read such, thank you in advance. This game’s soundtrack is so brilliantly understated and not full of itself. It conveys atmosphere and blends into all the other elements of the feel of the game to make it truly special. It’s not overly loud, energetic, “epic”, brash or distracting. It serves its purpose flawlessly. Nothing is irritatingly repetitive yet it’s still memorable, from the openness of the sandstorm in the desert to the intense compactness of the catacomb sub rails, to the grand-scale aerial action of the war factory. Nothing leaves without its imprint on your mind. So many memorable tunes. The sewers|forest, the wasteland run, the blast bots, the battle arena, the volcano.... everything is as beautifully unforgettable as the moments they share with the game. My favourite game there’s ever been and ever will be. (Unless a Jak 4 is made in my lifetime and it seizes upon the unending potential of the brand Naughty Dog created.) It is basically the perfect game. It’s everything anyone could ever need out of a game. It’s timeless and equally as impressive today. It has lost absolutely nothing to time. You like racing? You’ve got racing in multiple ways. If you don’t you can just use the cars freely anyway. Win-win. You like shooting? Here’s 12 unique gun properties to play around with along with first person on rails, AND standing still moments, as well as in-car moments. You like platforming? Only Mario and Banjo could ever come close to what this game offers in control and level design. You like challenging collecting? Precursor Orbs in ingenious gameplay-driven spots in every single area, including several secret rooms as well as rooftops. Also, varied optional challenges such as reaching a certain point in a time limit. You like GTA’s open-world mission structure with which one you tackle at one time often left up to your free choice? Well here it is complete with the expansive open world, vehicles and optional murderous rampage. You like Tony Hawk? Tony only wishes he could use a Jetboard. Or have gameplay as satisfyingly fun. You like puzzles? The Dark Maker Satellite has you covered. You like stealth? Dark Jak invisibility. You like PAC-Man? It’s even got PAC-Man. You see my point. This game is a culmination of every good idea gaming as a whole has ever conceived. In one place. Constantly varied and creative, atmospheric, a loveable and dynamic cast of brilliantly written characters, no grating pompous tunes to ruin immersion... I could go on for decades. Honestly. No one talks anywhere near enough about how much this game alone achieves and revolutionises, never mind the series as a whole which invented and refined the open-world 3D platformer. It doesn’t matter if other people admire as much as I do or love it as much. They could hate it for all I care. What matters is the impact it left on me. Words aren’t capable of describing that impact. From my youngest years until now. I will forever come back to this game. @@user-oh8dc7rf2b agreed, especially seeing how The Last of Us 2 turned out. We have to remember that the people at Naughty Dog now aren't all the same from 20 years ago. Of course, TLOU 2 didn't do too well because of the director but, generally speaking, the team is different and are more used to a different type of genre. After all, Naughty Dog has only really been making 3rd person shooters with basically the same mechanics for over 10 years now. I played Jak & Daxter The Precursor Legacy when I was around 11 or 12 for the first time (I had only played Jak 2 and Jak 3 at the time) since I could download it on my PS3 and enjoyed it, though not as much as I enjoyed Jak 2 and Jak 3 on the PS2. Dude I played the ever living fuck out of this game when I was a kid. I did so many play throughs that eventually I just stopped once I get the city fully unlocked so I could role play that the war going on was something I had control over lol. I’d spend hours and hours fighting beside the blue guys trying to keep them alive
aah, the Monk Temple. Now that I see the title, it's no wonder that I feel so moved by it, though I don't doubt that the music helped make that level and could easily stand alone in dignity. (as a Monk does.) R.G.
Look yall ama be deadass, Ive been playing Jak and Daxter, since the very first I know the whole story till this day, (minus lost frontier LOL) and suffer baaad from ADHD. One day I hope to tell my kids bed time stories of the epic tales of Jak, and his best friend, daxter, But yo this music? is steaming hot garrrrbaaaage like, man. I always knew there was some I didnt like about Jak3, The story was badass, epic, the gameplay the new worlds, like dude. but something always bothered me. I rememeber being in elemtary school on my birhday morning my mom gave me choclates, and jake 3, when it first came out lol believe me I LOVE JAK and Daxter, but the sound track? It aint it chief. Now that im 27, turning 28, Like nah yeaaah thats the problem the mystery magical tunes from, the dark badass ones from Jak 2? like man. Still my favorite one of all time easily.
Just wait for the collector's edition soundtrack. There we will have the true original soundtrack with unreleased demos and tracks and with 100% more quality since all the jak compositions had to be downgraded in quality so it wasnt too much to handle on ps2. Check out JAK II collector edition's official soundtrack and compare it to the one we have been used to. You'll notice big changes and you will hear instruments you've never heard before in the music tracks.
Back when the game's plot was so good sometimes it was hard to understand, compared to games today that are boring and predictable or have too much background lore to enjoy that part of the game
Anyone knows how I could find the music played in jak 3 at the end when Cyber-Errol is destroyed and that Jak and daxter emerge from the dust storm ? It's just after that Jak gets closer to Ashelin surely to kiss her. It's a really short theme but really epic, I think this could be the real Jak 3 theme. A lot of musics played during the cutscenes are greats, which is less, is that it seems impossible to find anything, looks like it's unreleased and I don't know why...
First of all Keira is Jak"s girlfriend , if y don't believe m play Jax X combat racing , or the psp Jak game , secondly y can find the music it's called credits ^_^
In case any of you were looking for it, Makalon102 uploaded the music for the Dark Satellite and Eco Grid minigames here: ruclips.net/video/2p1sQVkXJTQ/видео.html
Well, I guess you're right. RUclips used to degrade audio quality some years ago, but it seems it's not the case anymore. Sorry for my previous post. Also, do you provide download link for each track, by any chance ?
Jak 3 was the last good Jak & Daxter game change my mind. Jak X wasn't bad, it was just okay. Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier on the other hand, actual garbage. Come to think of it ND did to Jak & Daxter what they did to Crash. 3 Mainlines + a racer before another developer took the reigns and the quality dipped. Now the real question is, after the inevitable TLOU 3 when do we get TLOU X: Combat Tag Team Racing?

1:54:00 legendary
So glad the full tracks there so many songs that aren't singled out on youtube thank you
Dude I played the ever living fuck out of this game when I was a kid.
(as a Monk does.)
R.G.
Thank you so much for the high quality!
thank you so much
thanks, was looking for the protect torn theme
Great game
10:00.
VeloxPlayer098 Yeeeah! A good one brother
The Precursor-Sub Rail theme (Underground precursor thingy, as you call it) is missing on the download
You'll notice big changes and you will hear instruments you've never heard before in the music tracks.
yeah if i went back in time and knew i wouldn't of bothered :p
Makalon102 x) no one of us couldnt know we would be getting the real soundtrack 17 years later on the games release 😂😂
@@RatchetUYAclown Wait, is this confirmed? When is it coming?
Nexus its already sold out. You cannot obtain anymore anywhere other than ebay. I got mine copy yesterday. There were only 3500 of them in the world.
@@RatchetUYAclown Okay, congratulations. Where can I find the music you were talking about?
Best game soundtrack on god
At this point Insomniac Games is more loyal to Jaj & Daxter than Naughty Dog
Love the game
Im soo hapy to play this game on my ps4
Back when the game's plot was so good sometimes it was hard to understand, compared to games today that are boring and predictable or have too much background lore to enjoy that part of the game
Man that precursor twist in the end... there still has to be a better plot twist that totally changes the complete world building like Jak 3 did
Till this day never played this game.
Play all 3 and if you can play Jak X but PS2 version (actually if you can play each games in PS2)
Funny how the gun course music is just reused from Jak II, great soundtracks nonetheless!
First of all Keira is Jak"s girlfriend , if y don't believe m play Jax X combat racing , or the psp Jak game , secondly y can find the music it's called credits ^_^
why is a structure alive?
I can't find the theme used for the Dark Satellite and Eco Grid minigames.
hmm your right i don't think its uploaded anywhere and i completely forgot about it here, i will record and upload it very soon
In case any of you were looking for it, Makalon102 uploaded the music for the Dark Satellite and Eco Grid minigames here: ruclips.net/video/2p1sQVkXJTQ/видео.html
rarity sad

The music at 15:09 has been used in other games, I've heard it before....is there an official name for it?
Drevan Matthews which games
@@Makalon102 I believe I've heard it in Lego Batman, and also some other game that I can't think of right now.
Drevan Matthews any link to videos?
Def not, This was made specifically for jak and is a track i have always recognised instantly due to the fact that it is linked to spargus city
Unfortunately, because your video is 480p max, the quality is not the best possible :( Thanks anyway :)
according to all my research that is not true, if you google you will find out, that was one of my concerns before i uploaded first
Well, I guess you're right. RUclips used to degrade audio quality some years ago, but it seems it's not the case anymore. Sorry for my previous post.
Also, do you provide download link for each track, by any chance ?
there is a download link in description
cara olha essa perfeição! ruclips.net/video/n_7g86KT4Ek/видео.html
Was there another song that sounded like 1:48:45-1:49:16?
Jak 3 was the last good Jak & Daxter game change my mind. Jak X wasn't bad, it was just okay. Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier on the other hand, actual garbage.
Come to think of it ND did to Jak & Daxter what they did to Crash. 3 Mainlines + a racer before another developer took the reigns and the quality dipped. Now the real question is, after the inevitable TLOU 3 when do we get TLOU X: Combat Tag Team Racing?
💕 praise our LORD
🥵
thank you for being our savior jesus Christ❤
This game reminded me of Fortnite back then except which was so cool I loved Daxter
GOOD trillogy, but there screwed the so much builded Precursor storyline at the end Of Jak 3. Sure funny, but this Meta feeling Totally screwed for this joke. So, it's a joke.
What? Making a sequel(jack 4) of a loved game with a loyal fanbase? Nhaaa, let's just make a remake of the remake of the last of us part 1 final mix
Naughty dog probably......
jak 4 sucks
