I’m 53 now… playing this game in 2007 when I was 38…. My sons were asleep, having helped them with homework, finished coaching soccer, another long week over… the wife asleep, and I was alone to focus, to do whatever it took to save mankind, with Cortana at my side.

Conner nah man bungie also has a whole lotta blame in this. They had a $500 MILLION catastrophe. I was there at launch, pre ordered it, played the beta that was so popular the servers crashed, all for arguably one of the worst stories in gaming. A big lie, and in case you havent noticed Bungie left activision a while back and still never recovered. Hell Destiny has only gotten worse without Activision.
The bungie we all knew and loved died along with Reach.

On January 13, 2022 Halo 3 and Halo: Reach saw their last matches on the Xbox 360 servers. This marked the end of an era of two of the best games to be released in my lifetime, as many of the viewers of this OST can agree. To anybody still carrying on the fight through other means, I salute you an wish you the best.

When I hear this I think about playing halo in my room with my older brother. My mother was alive at the time and I was enjoying my childhood, taking halo more serious than I should have. Not a single regret. I'm 24. Some of the best memories I have. This music is SO powerful. Thank you Bungie

I was the same! My older brother and I went through Halo 1 to Reach together on split-screen, very serious business of course! Martin O'Donnell really made the series with this music. I am sorry about your mother, may she rest in peace. Happy to know another kid was out there beating the Covenant with the big brother, even if us younger siblings were better at Halo than they!
In the same boat brother. Playing halo CE and then mum died late 2005. Ill always remember finishing it on legendary with my brother baring in mind I was only 11 at the time and her being so proud of me. She always encouraged us to play video games but did so in a way that meant we also spent valuable time outside. She was the purest person to walk this earth. Never forget.

@@specmage1247 not quite, it was cheap solder that was used for the units made the first two or three years. This is why the home "fix" of wrapping it in a towel could rarely work, as it could remelt the solder balls, and maybe get a connection going again. (I've only ever seen it work once though, so it falls under the almost never category of success rate)
The issue was largely fixed in the 2009 and later units by changing their solder, but by then there were so many units with the cheap stuff in circulation that the curvy 360's reputation was tainted by the RROD. I still have a 360 Core from 2010 that still runs great (for a 360 at least). The issue was virtually nonexistent with the S and E models.
It's incredible a 14 year old game soundtrack can make me teary eyed. This game was truly awesome.
One of the best. A legend, if you will.

It is, friend, it is. So much emotion in so short amount of time. Mart O'Donnell is one of my top favorite composers of all video gaming.

Justin Williams I would have to disagree halo ce’s campaign was a bit repetitive, I think halo 2 could of had the edge in campaign over 3 but not multiplayer as goes with reach.
Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, Halo Reach, Halo 4. Those six games are HALO. Yes, four was good, much better than we all thought at the time it came out. I absolutely adore these games but I have to admit, I don't know what the fuck 343 was thinking when they made part 5.

As a 13 year old I still cry to this soundtrack and Halo 3 today, I remember my dad showed me this game when I was young.Halo 3 was the very first game I played and it will forever be my favorite game of all time to this day, I still even play this game prior to the games great story and memorable soundtrack.

This stuff gives me the chills and memories of when I first played Halo 3. Memories that I won't be able to relive. The first and last only happen once so cherish your first moments and every moment because who knows, it might be your last.
This comment messed me up more than I thought it would.
What I would give to be able to experience this game for the first time again.
1:09:48 Is the type of music that makes you forget you are even playing a game. Makes you forget about all the problems of the real world as it absorbes you into the story and the universe of Halo.
Usually the lowest note on a violin is a G. In this section the violins had to detune that string a half step lower to an F#. It is a powerful effect, especially given what is going on in the game at the time.

I literally felt my body start to ascend. Everything was becoming crystal clear. The memories instantly flooded my mind. My body started to vibrate as I ascended into the heavens. Feeling nothing but relaxation and I felt a hand touch my shoulder. I felt calm. Thank you.

The intro is simply amazing. I can literally see what happens on screen along with the music and i haven't played the Halo 3 story in a decade at least. Its the kind of thing that makes you shed a manly tear because you know something great follows.

Marty left us this incredible soundtrack that's able to take a lot of us back to a simpler time, brings about some great memories of playing xbox with the boys at your friends place, staying up until the sun came up. I'll never forget how much fun I had playing this game, and the fun times I had with my friends.
These moments we see the true beauty, the beauty we took for granted. Thank you for making my childhood so memorable. We were truly very lucky to grow up with such a culture. All that is left is our story and our memories.

Can’t believe I was 7 when this game came out and at that time halo was still my favorite franchise and I didn’t even know what life really was…. Those times really were the best, and sometimes I wish I could rewind right back to a simpler time without stress or worry and just freely gaming with my friends I met through Xbox life.

This scene is so powerful, I can hardly put it into any words. Arbiter repeating the same words he said to chief when they had to call each other ally after once being enemies. And now he was friend, lost in the unknown, many thought he died saving humanity and there was nothing they could do to not let his name die in vein, for he is the one that saved him and gave his sacrifice. “Those who sacrifice themselves never know the outcome of their sacrifice, they just have to hope.”
Man this takes me back. I had all of the Halo Soundtracks growing up. I'd listen to them to and from school on the bus making my own epic adventures in my head. Halo 3's OST is probably my favorite out of all of them!

Will forever be my favorite game of all time. I remember when I first got this game as a gift in third grade. Loved the game so much I played it for a whole summer offline, trying to find new details about the game. This game will always hold a special place in my heart.

Halo: CE in so many ways holds the most nostalgia and wonder in my little head. I had the soundtrack CD from 2002 in middle school. But I can't argue how the Halo 3 and ODST soundtracks just hold the throne for the series. Everything started and experienced with in the first 2 games honed to a fine and perfect point.
Hard to believe I was only 13 when this came out and I played it all night until the campaign was over on a school night it was also my birthday good times I will never forget going to my friends house so we can all play halo together, hot Cheetos and Mountain Dew was our diet

Man, I spent so long playing halo 2 and 3 multiplayer with my friends in university. I only got around to playing the campaigns this year and I was totally blown away. I've read a lot of scifi and the covenant civil war with humanity and the flood was so interesting. The flood attacking high charity was the moment I fell in love with the story.

This brings back loads of memories this was my first game I ever played when I was a toddler and I had an xbox 360 one Christmas and a halo 3 game for it and my xbox 360 still works perfectly fine today

I was only a year old when this came out, however I started playing this game when my brother introduced it to me when I was 6. To this day, Halo 3 will always be my favorite Halo game, and up there with xbox games

I seriously think Im about to cry when I hear the beginning theme with johnson in the first cutscenes and the final halo level it just makes me feel so good to experience such beautiful music. It truly touches your heart and soul thank you Marty for making such amazing memories and music.
