I'm sad as I know I'll never get the young and free days of playing Halo 2 with my pals, all night, all day. No cares, no stress. Proxi chat and non stop laughing. Being an adult sucks. But I am proud to say 'I was there'. The golden era of online console gaming. I don't think it has been surpassed and I don't think it ever will.

Yes agree my friend. Last year I sold my Xbox one and gave away all the Halo games including 360 ones that I held on since the beginning. Soo much memories there it was difficult. I was bittersweet knowing the person receiving was super excited. Everyday I look at my daughter growing up and I only hope I give her the memories she will remember lifetime. What a care free life she lives right now.
nothing can come close however i will always say we can look back fondly and hope this generation can find something they love like we all loved Halo

Woah... I didn't expect to get teleported back into time when life was good. When real friends existed. Hour upon hours of teamwork and having fun. I'll never forget when Halo 2 came out. Me and my little brother played it nonstop until we beat the game.... I miss him.. FML

When mom died of ovarian cancer in front of me I didn't even get to say goodbye. Then I was diagnosed with Epilepsy a few months later. Ten years I spent chuckin rocks into the sky asking why? But after years of tormenting myself, I finally found what's inside, pulled it out and I've never been so strong. College starts soon, and regardless of what happens in the future, I will embrace it and make it a historic part of my life just like mom taught me to!!

Unforgotten from Halo 2 is such a punch in the nostalgia. I couldn't help but stare and remember all the great times playing Halo 2 and how groundbreaking it was.
What a wasted opportunity Infinite was. At least they nailed the aesthetics

Honestly I'd be fine with infinite flaws and all if I could download the campaign and not the multiplayer. Especially considering I spent full price on a physical copy.
The single intro scene to Chak Lok's Bossfight in the tower was more epic than anything I had experienced in Halo 4 or 5, so for me it's still a step in the right direction. Sadly they stopped after that.
They nailed the gameplay in Halo Infinite as well, my favorite since Halo CE. Pity the rest of the game is a broken dumpster fire.
To have lived in a time where we all got to experience such beautiful music and art. I always fall into a nostalgic state when I listen to Martin. Truly blessed. Makes me appreciate all other arts and music as well. If anyone I know reads this, if we played halo together. I loved it man. Thanks for those times. They meant everything to me; and yes, we can possibly make more noise. Forever.
the halo soundtrack has always blown me away. especially when it comes to FPS games, its so epic and beautiful compared to other game series!

Been having a rough life plan on getting married here on the 21st of July lots of stress with my family just finished up some college work and just played halo CE with my dad for the first time in 16 years this soundtrack really helped calming me down.
I can't wait to share a halo experience with my kids. Waiting for them to get a lil older first! Oldest is 4.

First Halo every played was Halo 2, on an fixed black Xbox , I still remember trying to keep the marines alive, Punching aliens without clue of what was I supposed to do, suddently I was the enemy and of course I didn´t had a clue of what I was supposed to do, either way I finished the game in about 4-5 days a whole School week. It was the beginning of my gaming career. Weekend arrived as expected, guys, I still remember that saturday at 8:30 am and that guitar riff just before the game started. Fellas we all have come a long way hope y'all do great and cherish every beautiful moment of this master piece of the master Chief.
This is one of the most beautiful compilations of Halo tracks I have listened to. Each track flows nicely into the next and maintains a similar tone and theme.
I appreciate you noticing this! I had probably listened to each song's start and end at least 20-30 times just trying to choose song orders that flowed on similar notes and tones. I also payed a lot of attention to the song tempos and tried to keep the upcoming tracks on beat with the previous ones. Didn't want songs from the same game back to back either, so you can imagine how lengthy this process was 😮💨

If someone remastered Halo 3 and opened up the multiplayer servers for it again, they would be deemed a God amongst men.
Halo's music has such a beautiful take, it sounds amazing, yet very secluded. It points at the fact that war, while fast paced and very intense, also gets very tranquil and lonely once the guns become silent. It leaves so many alone, so many broken, so many irreplaceable lives lost, resources burned through, livelihoods shattered.
It's beautiful that a war game brings that out, the loss so heavily felt by music, which speaks volumes to heights no language could ever reach. Music is not simply a song's background, rather the music IS the song. Every tune speaks for itself, every note holds a message. Every song holds a story beyond the lyrics, and sometimes, if you just listen you can even understand what it is that its telling you, as if its sentient of its own.
Halo's music seems to have been written to tell the story of the Halo arrays, the stories of greed, of collateral damage, new faces and old enemies, of death and rebirth. The struggle for dominance forcing a struggle for survival. The change in the tide of war, the sacrifices that led to the shift in power, and the memorial of all those who gave everything, so that survival was no longer a game, but a guarantee.
Thank you for putting into words what I've struggled to comunicate for myself. Halo's story ignites such a yearning for life. To never give up. For many, this game is just a popular shooter. There is art here, with our own personal messages and motivations to discover within.
@spagamoto agreed. So many blow past it, but like with so many things in life, there is beauty in it, found by those who stop and listen. It wasn't easy for me to put the feeling into words, and I still haven't fully encapsulated it, in fact I doubt it is even possible. As I've said, music speaks to heights no language could ever hope to reach, no matter how beautifully strung together

Fuck I miss me those early 2000s, when Halo was like THE franchise. I miss the hype of 3. Shit, I kinda just miss hype in general, feels like such a long time ago now when things used to feel like events. We get some scattered moments, Barbenheimer and Dune 2 felt massive. But idk. Getting old, lol

and even then, is more like "what will you get" or "what will you buy"

I remember Halo. I remember seeing Reach coming out. Not old enough to understand, and yet, i felt it was big. I only played it three years ago, and i can agree, that hype i saw was well deserved.

31:03 That was really good timing with the ship transitioning from Background to Foreground above the Forerunner structure. Don't know if it was intentional or not, but either way, it's a nice touch. I know it's not High Charity, but it fits quite well with that particular suite 😊

Before X-Box live, Me and my friends would pair up into two teams and would run a long cable between rooms and play halo. You would take out someone on the other team, and hear them yelling in the next room. It was great. One night we played for 7 hours straight. So much fun. I really miss that. My how time changes.

My very first console was the Original XBOX and I was in Best Buy... the first game I bought for it was HALO:CE not knowing this was lead to the best gaming experience for years! God, I miss this so much! The LAN parties was soooo fun. i would make people bring their TVs over.

When I first played the halo games… I played them out of order.. because that’s how they were released.. was out of order… and going into one of those flood infested zones was kinda creepy when you were little.. but I had no idea they were used to wipe the flood from the galaxy.. or about all the forerunner stuff or chaekus being 343 guilty spark.. and being turned into a forerunner machine after freeing the Librarian’s husband… I know some much crazy lore after playing the halo games and listening to 34 halo audio books 😂

there's a video online of the guitarist just freely doing different solos in that same song section, and there's plenty more not included here. I just chose the extension I thought sounded most natural and mixed it with the final version
