    Do you store the brush dry and just soak it before use?

    Nick! I never knew about lathering up with my brush! It saves me 10mins tops, than using a bowl. Plus, for some reason, gives me a better shave! Thank you!

    Do you then rinse the soap and can in water? I always wonder about that final step which I never see in soap review videos. I am just starting to try soap.. Been using only creams. My bit of OCD doesn't like messy. So, I take a plastic knife and shave off chips of soap and put it directly in a bowl. Seems to work OK.

      I usually rinse the soap and whatever container it's in with water to remove excess lather. Some people leave it to use next time.

      You can rinse off the soap if you want to keep it clean looking, but you'll be washing away some of it in the process. I tend to lather, put the lid on my dish (if it has one) and just rinse the outside of the dish off to keep it clean. I think you'll find that your pucks will last a lot longer if you load straight from the puck, as opposed to shaving it into a lathering bowl. You may be using more soap by shaving it.

      I just leave the suds on the puck behind and let them dry. Not the cleanest method, but it keeps as much of the soap as possible for future lathering

    Do you wash the soap after you loaded up your brush or just leave it like that to dry out?

    Hello Nick, I have a question. I've been using my Proraso Shaving Soap for about 3 weeks now, about once or twice a week and it started to catch some bad smell. Do you have any advice on how to get rid of the smell? I leave some water on top of it while I'm in the shower, I use that water as a "pre-shave", and after I finish loading the brush I close the soap bowl and put it in the den. I don't really know what to do to get rid o the smell.

      You have to let the soap air dry for a bit before recapping it. Doing this helps prevent the formation of mold which is probably what led to yours smelling bad.

    Don't you ruin your soap in the puck if you load from there? If water gets in your puck should I make sure to take it out before closing it back up?

    I've started to use shave soaps last year and I noticed that I get a better shave using shave oil, then shave soap over the shave oil, and a good razor blade. The blades I use are from the Dollar Shave Club and they are actually very good then the over priced blades available from retail stores. I do lather up using a shave brush. My wife got me one from the Art Of Shaving store but that place is extremely over priced! Amazon has great shave soaps, shave oils, and brushes for a fraction of the cost.

      Which soap? Which brush? Bowl or face lather?

    • @scoutkbartholomew722
      @scoutkbartholomew722 6 лет назад

      It was Cyril Salter Wild Rose (came in a sample pack) with a boar hair Parker brush and a bowl. I don't think I'm using enough if it. I was trying to quarter the sample but should possibly just do thirds.

      Scoutk Bartholomew That could very well be what’s causing you problems. As I don’t know how your lather turned out, I can’t really know for sure. It could also be too much water

    In these Inflationary Times. HERE IS AN EASY WAY TO DO IT MY FRIENDs Use any hard Bar Soap, Tallow or Glycerin based Soaps out there? To fit in any Mugs or Cups? Like" (Mitchells' Wool Fat or Arko Sticks. Just to name a few of them?) You can mix and match your old Soaps? Cut up the soap on a paper plate, pour your soap chunks with the shavings from the Paper Plate into a Mug, cover the soap with a small amount of water, and microwave your soap. For about a minute or so? Place a paper plate under your mug in case it bubbles out of your cup? If it foams up, STOP. The water keeps it from burning itself up. (DON'T OVER WATER YOUR SOAP??) Easy, does it? Let cool don't want to Crack the Mugs or Cups you're using? (You just want it to Congeal in your Mug or Cup') it is very hot and watery'''''. let it cool in PLACE'. after it cools, put it in a Sunny Window, until the Soap hardens? When using your soaps, use Dry Brush Less Water. It thickens the soap, making it easier to use on your face. Save your Money, spend it on your wife, don't listen to the shave Mafia. It saves me time and Money. Wheelchair Larry Happy New Year.
    If you're Jay Leno ? disregard? Mileage may vary?

    At the end of your videos you always encourage questions from your viewers but you never seem to respond to the questions....so why do you keep asking?
