True qotsa fans never pushed aside the emotional songs. I never came has been a favourite for a long time. Same with long slow goodbye, this lullabye, into the hollow, suture. So many great ones. The fans know it's the critics/interviewers who don't know shit.
adamania the song like clockwork is beautiful same with Vampyre and I Appear Missing is one of the best songs they've ever written in my opinion. But fair enough everyone is entitled to their own opinions and feelings. People are different and that's why I love that qotsa is always different.
"I Appear Missing" is indeed incredible. Grim as hell! Well crafted piece of music. I'm not into the other two mentioned, yeah. Moreover, from ...Like Clockwork I'm also not a fan of "Smooth Sailing", "Fairweather Friends", and "Kalopsia".
I thought ...Like Clockwork was an amazing album. Obviously I'm just a huge queens fan and love most everything they do. "Fairweather Friends" definitely not my favourite, usually skip over that one. You not liking Smooth Sailing is crazy though I just can't help you there haha
C/AB said it right with 'people are different' - you've both listed all my favourites (bit ridiculous to claim so many when technically there should be just one, but I love ...LC) and the remaining unnamed tracks would rank lowest (with KYEP then IIHAT ahead of the other two). There is no Queens track I truly dislike btw as I too love their variance, like C/AB. As far as V is concerned, my next play in bed after this RUclips session will be no.7 and the highlights of the album have been DA, HLAHH, URA & VOC (and again, that's not to say I don't get anything off the other tracks, far from it).
Not sure if it was intentional, but Un-Reborn Again has such a late 70s Bowie-ish lilt to it, the group vocals and the synths, even the lyrics where he's listing off weird cabaret-like characters. The strings are unexpected though. What a packed song!!
When I first heard it I thought it was a ripoff of Bowie and The Cars, and moved on. It’s actually my favorite song on the album. The guitar work is so well thought out and unique in style, I’m semi obsessed with studying the style he puts into it.
Thank you QOTSA every album continues to thrill and inspire me, makes life exciting to have music I love to hear. I am going through progressive hearing loss and I am making sure your songs are drilled in my brain in case I go completely deaf!.. songs for the deaf! :-P I love you guys so much and greatly appreciate your talents. Really wish you'd make a tour stop near/in OREGON!
Emotional queens songs are fucking amazing. I mean, suture? Into the hollow? Like a drug? Hell, into the fade too! I'm throwing the blood is love in there too cause you can't listen to the outro to that song without feeling like someone is squeezing your soul's balls. They haven't been pushed aside joshua, how very dare you?! (But yeah I guess I appear missing struck the non plus ultra point for me)
*its only falling in love because you hit the ground* And *If ever your fortress falls, You're always safe in mine* Those two lyrics make me start looking for the ninjas cutting onions every time ❤️😭
"emotional songs." really dumb phrase to describe queens songs. they're all emotional. tension head is just as emotional as i appear missing. i think you're referring to slow songs or something.
I never forgot those love songs! Long slow goodbye damn near makes cry every time I listen to it. Which seems to be every morning for at least the last 2 months
Josh is a musical genius without a doubt, but IMO, one of the overlooked facets of his musical intelligence was his putting together the band. He put together a seriously multitalented group of musicians that not only cover their primary instrument exceptionally well, but are in a lot of ways “force multipliers”. The fact that the band has up to 3 guitarists, 3 keyboards, and 3 vocalists on command, gives them almost limitless possibilities. Not to mention, the ability to recreate their music live without having to go to backing tracks, or having to have 7 or 8 stage musicians, such as say Pink Floyd. It’s really an ideal band setup, especially to recreate live.
every damn day i wish i could write a sog like josh.i remember having my friends listen to like clockwork and them saying they liked i apear missing and me telling them that it made me sad that i would never write a song this good
I've been a fan since Rated R blew my mind in '00. I understand that the band has evolved and needs to evolve, but for me one of the big losses was Oliveri in '03/'04. I love where Queens has gone with Villains. There are some great sounds there, no doubt in my mind. That said. I think Oliveri brought a heavy punk-rock edge to the band that has been sorely missing from the last several albums (Josh, by his own admission is not a screamer like Nick). Coincidentally, rock in general has watered down big time since then and is now more about getting the kids of the day up to dance, rather than creating a driving sound that transcends the trends. I dunno, I feel like an old fvck, but I still think I'm at least partially in the right...
So... it's going back to actual rock and roll? Dance music? Because that's what Elvis et al were on and what Josh said he wanted "music for people to dance to like we did at generator parties when I was young"

Those are all good... I just don't like the REALLY slow ones on Like Clockwork, and some others. Just the way it is.

Josh Homme is a true artist.
Such a fascinating human
The Evil Has Landed is beyond awesome, I love that song.
Not sure if it was intentional, but Un-Reborn Again has such a late 70s Bowie-ish lilt to it, the group vocals and the synths, even the lyrics where he's listing off weird cabaret-like characters. The strings are unexpected though. What a packed song!!
Elra Beechum It's possibly my favorite track, and I love the whole album.
Ashes to ashes ...
UN-REBORN again has God's messages of the circle of life
it's inspired by T. Rex's hit Telegram Sam, at least for the verse structure
When I first heard it I thought it was a ripoff of Bowie and The Cars, and moved on.
It’s actually my favorite song on the album.
The guitar work is so well thought out and unique in style, I’m semi obsessed with studying the style he puts into it.
Thank you QOTSA

Sara Mantilaro I appear is hands down my personal fav from Queens. Still listen to that song on repeat to this day lol
Sara Mantilaro I appear missing is the best queens song
*its only falling in love because you hit the ground*
And
*If ever your fortress falls, You're always safe in mine*
Those two lyrics make me start looking for the ninjas cutting onions every time ❤️😭

if you don't _feel_ all those songs you just named, i don't know what to tell you. "emotional" doesn't always mean sad or melancholy.
I love how thoughtful he is
I never forgot those love songs! Long slow goodbye damn near makes cry every time I listen to it. Which seems to be every morning for at least the last 2 months
Hey josh can you turn down your jacket, it's a bit loud
Amazing album, one of, if not, their best yet. Love it.
Ich liebe Josh für seine Art irgendwie auch eine ganze eigene Ansicht zu haben an Songs zu arbeiten und sie zu entwickeln, ich könnte den Mann Stunden zuhören.

everybody was drowning in the fountain of youth
Tyler the G ...screaming "do do, do do, do do, do-ee-ooo"
Loved how he name dropped suture, the song doesn't get nearly the credit it deserves
every damn day i wish i could write a sog like josh.i remember having my friends listen to like clockwork and them saying they liked i apear missing and me telling them that it made me sad that i would never write a song this good
Villains is their best album to date and I will fight for what I believe in ❤️
You go girl!!
I care. ❤ your work, Josh.

At some point he talks about the fucking demon concept of the album??
Is it just me or is he on cccccccocaineee?

Ich würd dem Ganzen nochmal ne Chance geben. Die Lieder wachsen mit der Zeit und die Banalität oder Komplexität ergibt Sinn.

The fuck is he talking about
is he on drugs?
The album sucked
Better than the record you made cause you didn’t work on any record so shut the fuck up
