I can't express how much I admire Josh Homme. His honesty, openness, and unique take on life is profound. Say what you will about QUOTSA's music, but I believe it would be challenging to find someone who is more aware and understanding of those little human intricacies of life that we do often look over than Josh.
Maria Cambron while it was good, like clockwork didn really click with me THAT much. Maybe i didn give it a good enough chance. But the new one is their best in a whiiile to me.
I love how Josh has never given one Fuck, n has gone into negative fucks over the years, to the point where he admits how much of a family man he is, n I think he's inches away from weeping for joy....or maybe that's just me. But, Dammit dude. Same dude wrote Vampyre of Time and Memory AND Turning on the Screw???
This is awesome hearing Josh Homme a man of the desert...my family lives in in the Palm Desert area so I can relate to the beauty mystery and the freedom from of the desert. I love driving through the mountains every time I visit my family. I get inspired! Good interview.
I didn't really like "Like clockwork" after listening to Rated R and Songs for the deaf a million times. So I kinda forgot about "new" releases. But I think I am going to have to give this new album a listen
The song describes his impossible union with his ex. It’s all there. He doesn’t understand how to be in a long marriage with a Borderline Personality D/0. There is no way. That song breaks my heart. As does I Sat By The Ocean.
When they referred to the Arctic Monkeys as the Monkeys, I thought they literally meant he produced an album for The Monkees, and man, now I really want to hear that album.
The New Album is just amazing... really so proud of my new favourite band QUOTSA. The songs are so haunting and stuck in my head. Do yourself a favour, don't listen to it... whatever you do.
Haven’t touched the new im just getting to like clockwork… I’m obsessed right now . I’m a Kyuss guy lol so anyway… gonna hit this album tomorrow night !love the many eras of qotsa. Josh is a force for real
I think the new album is really cool it takes a few listens but thats the beauty Of qotsa their music keeps you interested. I didnt like era vulgaris at 1st but a few listens later was hooked same with like clockwork thats what makes them so interesting qotsa are never going to keep the same sound as we all know that would get tiresome and im pretty sure everybody would still be bitching and moaning if they did . Stick with it and keep listening 👂
Kieron Tony Page Same every QOTSA album I've had to listen to them repeatedly to have them grow on me and Villains is gonna be the same for me again.(the only exception is SOTD for me.)
Agreed. First listen was a bit so so. I was searching for some Clockwork in there maybe. At 10 or so listens the penny dropped and I had the "aha" moment. Now at maybe 30 go arounds I'm not listening to anything else.
Kieron Tony Page my favourite QOSTA album and one of my favourite albums period is Era Vulgaris so yeah that album is absurdly underrated. What I love about QOSTA is every album has different elements to it, yet it is all obviously QOSTA.
Its one of the eight albums in my car and I still don't know all the words. There are volumes of lyrical content in villains and I love it. The last song isn't my favorite but I get it. It's become really clear now in music how many imposters there are trying to bite on the qotsa thing. Why you think each new album takes time to listen to. Because it's the source
2000, Mayo Island, Richmond, VA (overgrown & abandoned now) Josh & Nick hated this show & made reference to playing children's birthday parties the following week... laughed my ass off as dickfaces payed no attention & ate watermelon, but this was an epiphany for me. I'm grateful until I'm dead.
R A part of that is because he’s mentioned in the past he’s a libertarian who votes republican, that just isn’t tolerated by the champagne socialist music industry business
Wow, I don't know why I wasn't expecting all the Zane Lowe hate. Haven't listened WAAAY too much to the interviews dude lays down but I did always like the Them Crooked Vultures BBC Session that has him in it giving sparse questions between songs.
There’s another interview that explains it He had an autoimmune disorder or something and had to have surgery and says when he woke up he didn’t hear music in his head for at least two years so that’s what the song “I appear missing”
I've passed by Pink Duck Studios so many times and you'd be surprised how average looking it is from the outside. Finally I can see how it looks from the inside. Sage and Sound Studios also looks super average.
Maybe, but he does seem to get a lot out of Josh and connects well with him. Of the interviews I've seen it is pretty rare that that happens, but that's just me
I enjoy a lot of Zane's interviews but it's a little annoying and perhaps even insincere how he seems to just suck off his guest throughout the entire conversation. Like the new Queens album is pretty good but come one, Zane.
Yeah - Just never been able to stomach him. Don't care how much he genuinely loves them (which apparently he does), there's just something arse-licky about the bloke. J Ho seems to like him so guess he must be legit; he's not one to suffer fools...
As if Americans are mature enough to have a conversation like that. Y'all haven't even sorted out 9/11 yet, most still seem to believe it wasn't entirely orchestrated by their own government
Abjullah el Beki - marginally correct. Vultures IS Queens. It's Songs for the Deaf queens (Dave) with Alan from Lullabies-era Queens. It's all-star queens! Plus, you know... Led Zeppelin's bassist.
I can't express how much I admire Josh Homme. His honesty, openness, and unique take on life is profound. Say what you will about QUOTSA's music, but I believe it would be challenging to find someone who is more aware and understanding of those little human intricacies of life that we do often look over than Josh.
Yep, this is just what’s UP🤔👍🤘
Well said
He is such an emotionally intelligent person. I can tell he has a big heart.
@@MrAdrianloera Do you mean Josh?
Because Zane is also very heartfelt and genuine. I'm extremely impressed with both of the them. "It all stems from what you love"!
I always saw Josh as the coolest most humble kind of vampire.
He'd bite your neck, but first he'd help you move.
How is he a vampire
Hahahaha
The vampyre of time and memory
Been following Queens forever. Pleasantly surprised by the new album. Love these guys. They're always reinventing themselves, and are never boring.
couldn't agree more.
Maria Cambron while it was good, like clockwork didn really click with me THAT much. Maybe i didn give it a good enough chance. But the new one is their best in a whiiile to me.
The lineup does change a lot though a few memebers have stuck around
"I have pictures of myself as a very small person here."
Gotta love Josh.
short person

Zane is an amazing interviewer. Love Homme, follow his art anywhere.
What a great interview. I've never seen Josh this focused and sincere.
he is so honest and really talks OPEN - without any "star" live - he REALLY lives ... GREAT MUSICIAN & PERSON! cool interview! thx
This is not part 2, it's the full interview
beats 1.
part 2.
-mind blown-
Nothing but love. One of my favorite bands/artist ever hands down
I need a hip replacement after listening to this record.
This is awesome hearing Josh Homme a man of the desert...my family lives in in the Palm Desert area so I can relate to the beauty mystery and the freedom from of the desert. I love driving through the mountains every time I visit my family. I get inspired! Good interview.
🖤🌵
Damn, leave it to Zane Lowe to give a great Joshua Homme interview. super good.
"You know.." :D :D
Seriously, this album is so awesome. 3 full listenings and now... I just can't stop listening.
QOTSA, best band in the world :)
Drinking game, every time Josh says "You know" take a shot.
I didn't really like "Like clockwork" after listening to Rated R and Songs for the deaf a million times. So I kinda forgot about "new" releases. But I think I am going to have to give this new album a listen
the lyrics in un-reborn again is the most elegantly crafted creepshow song ever
Well, Queens of the Stone Age definitely *is* part of my daily grind...
What a great interviewer! It must take a special talent to keep Josh in a serious and authentic mood, and not try to clown around the whole time
The Homme never disappoints
Head like a haunted house is probably my favorite on the album.
randomassname That song is atrocious.
@@itsMrNoble Atrocious in the best possible way.

Wdym, Josh produced Humbug

@@johnulcer oh, got it
He's so talented.
Zane squishes the fun
Such a great man. His humor and humanity is shoots amazerbeams 💫
great interview. Josh- stud. Great dude. Stoked for the new album tomorrow! Keep it rocking!
YES! I sure hope another TCV album happens and for 2019...I think that would make a ten year gap between albums.
Josh "you know" Homme
he has a great fing sense of humor
its very rare that i dont mind being a dork, but i dont mind dorking out on qotsa.
Why is everyone talking smack about Zane? Genuinely don't understand, seems like a fine dude.
John Mathews they have a really good connection and always have been.
If you were clever enough to know then you'd know
5:47 is a good example
so eloquent
The New Album is just amazing... really so proud of my new favourite band QUOTSA. The songs are so haunting and stuck in my head. Do yourself a favour, don't listen to it... whatever you do.
I wish this was longer
fingers crossed for another vultures record
Josh, I love you so much...you now???^^
Haven’t touched the new im just getting to like clockwork… I’m obsessed right now . I’m a Kyuss guy lol so anyway… gonna hit this album tomorrow night !love the many eras of qotsa. Josh is a force for real
Homme must be on Joe Rogan
Michael hayes Rogam doesn't seem to know much about music but that would be a good conversation. They seem to have fairly similar worldviews too
Well your wish was granted
Is joe Rogan a street name for DMT?
I think the new album is really cool it takes a few listens but thats the beauty Of qotsa their music keeps you interested.

Nice second part, but what about Them Crooked Vultures?
omg he actually talked about TCV on this one.
Yeah, I hope TCV makes a second album! And sounds promising here.
Un reborn again is my favorite from villains
"Giggling over the gold"...

What a great interview
i will say i love waking up and blasting Head Like A Haunted House in my car to wake up
Gawd...how i love zane!

Josh rules
Anals of Quasinstops is GREAT album!
Finally!! ;) i thought you forget about it
Bout time
Thanks to Need For Speed Underground 2 for this expectacular artist and band, thanks!
8 dislikes!? Who in the FUCK
You Know, You Know, You Know, You Know)))
Josh is such a human. Can't NOT love the man.
God fucking dammit, why does it have to be censored.
#ITSGOODTOSEEYOUAGAIN
27:22 Is he talking about his death? It's quite depressive for me. QOTSA the best as always!
There’s another interview that explains it
He had an autoimmune disorder or something and had to have surgery and says when he woke up he didn’t hear music in his head for at least two years so that’s what the song “I appear missing”
Oh I thought it was Josh Homme with Phil Anselmo for a moment... never mind
Good interview on the new record. I think I might like it more relistening after this
I've passed by Pink Duck Studios so many times and you'd be surprised how average looking it is from the outside. Finally I can see how it looks from the inside. Sage and Sound Studios also looks super average.
5:48
lol he always calls kids 'short people'
Am i the only one who feels like Josh' singing style is akin to Jim Morrison?
Mudson Jones- No, you're not. On some songs it is super uncanny, like the song Can't Possibly Begin To Imagine by Them Crooked Vultures.
Roy Orbison
Josh has said he grew up listening to The Doors
Yes somewhat. I think Bowie a lot too
No just u
❤
Interviewer is annoying as f**k but Josh is thought engaging as always.
Bro I have that table
*know^^
Why his eyes so tired?
'You know'
I'm sorry but where is this studio?
Being slow today
Brooklyn
Burbank CA
Zane Lowe needed a cheat sheet for the song names.
great interview from josh. but zane lowe is just painful.
Maybe, but he does seem to get a lot out of Josh and connects well with him. Of the interviews I've seen it is pretty rare that that happens, but that's just me
I can't be bothered looking through comments
I enjoy a lot of Zane's interviews but it's a little annoying and perhaps even insincere how he seems to just suck off his guest throughout the entire conversation. Like the new Queens album is pretty good but come one, Zane.
themadbatter
He is a bit of a brown nose.
themadbatter except Zane has loved Queens since forever.
He's a stan, I don't think his love for the album is insincere
I hate Zane Lowe
Yeah - Just never been able to stomach him. Don't care how much he genuinely loves them (which apparently he does), there's just something arse-licky about the bloke. J Ho seems to like him so guess he must be legit; he's not one to suffer fools...
Do better in life you negative fucks
0:54 lol
btw. is Lowe jealous of Ronson?
7:18
Zane Lowe is a bad interviewer, sadly. But always love hearing more of Joshua's story
Glad Zane isn't on terrestrial radio...he's as annoying AF. Another reason to stick with Spotify and not use Apple Music.
Terrible mic placement, every time Josh leans forward you can barely hear him sounds muffled as hell
Zane Lowe doesn't know criticism exists. Hes a fanboy on steroids.
dropping all background noise and making all sound in between words being dead silent is the fucking worst.
excuse me. dropping...all...noise..in breaks in where people speak...is the....worst..thing....to listen to. I'm for hire
Zane Lowe is a blank nothing
this guy is the Elon Musk of music
sounds like Ronson wanted that song to have surprises like a haunted house
Artists explaining and demystifying their work is everything that's wrong with modern music ... as Zappa said, 'Shut up and play yer guitar' ...
But, he did address his band's fortunate to have thier own sound, I will agree that any artists without have no foundation to make li' dat.
They should discuss the manufactured Bataclan incident where nobody died
so 90 people doesn't count as anybody dying
As if Americans are mature enough to have a conversation like that. Y'all haven't even sorted out 9/11 yet, most still seem to believe it wasn't entirely orchestrated by their own government
I just noticed how much like Trump Josh looks...of course, a more evolved and handsome version...but still.
Zane Lowe is the worst.
Zane..more like LAME!
Gable ha.
Ooooh, sick burn!
I think "Villains its a great album, but the production of Mark Ronson's its terrible.
take a risk and go back to what birthed your sound. KYUSS was always your freedom. RUN JOSH. RUN.
Why is Zane Lowe so cringe?
Them Crooked Vultures > QotSA
Abjullah el Beki I'd say they're both solid gold.
hell yeahs
Eagles of Death Metal reference, I love that song "Solid Gold"
Abjullah el Beki they have the "potential", but not the albums... Queens have been solid for almost two decades, how would TCV evolve?
Abjullah el Beki - marginally correct. Vultures IS Queens. It's Songs for the Deaf queens (Dave) with Alan from Lullabies-era Queens. It's all-star queens! Plus, you know... Led Zeppelin's bassist.
First
I want the real Josh Homme! What is Trump doing here!? You think I can't tell who is who!?
The new album blows, you know...
No one knows...
How do you figure that
