Ive been OBSESSED with the slow rush and I just had to watch an interview with Kevin explaining his process or inspo bc its just such an amazing album and so innovative no ONE is doing it out here like Kevin is I can't believe I get to listen to his stuff for FREE
Kevin is actually the greatest musician of all time imo. Im not necessarily talking about technical talent. He just has an uncanny ability to pull elements together and make shit that sounds not only unique but also perfect down to every detail. Nothing is out of place in a tame impala song. The only thing that i can even remotely compare the journeys that his music takes me on and the emotions it gives me is Pink Floyd. It baffles me that one person can make all these songs without getting lost in echo chamber and have the awareness and composure to know which decisions to make when making each song. Its fucking incredible and were all insanely lucky to be alive at the same time as him. Thank you Kevin!
I gather so much inspiration from his passion to create and I can relate to music creation process as a producer myself. I would never want to put someone on a pedestal, but it really is a dream to meet Kevin just to see how he operates as a musician.

Zane actually asked questions that I’ve always wondered like the lull between SNL, Coachella, and the expected album. Kevin is just a regular dude and I think we can all appreciate his down to earth-ness.
Things i got from this interview: 1. Kevin is literally a musical god 2. Such deep thoughts about time and space 3. He looks way too comfortable; give this interviewer a raise 4. Kevin is an attractively awkward man 5. His mind is vibrating at some freakishly high frequency, which clashes with the frequency of the universe and then syncs beautifully into waves that aliens interpret as secrets of their ancestors 6. I appear to be in love with this strange dude
29. Zane seems to look at him with such a perplexed face - I'm not sure if he doesn't like the guy with his unique approach or because the sun's in his eyes...
Zane: "did you dig it up?" Kevin: "NO. The whole idea is that itll be there until the end of time.....or like...alines coming down in like 200 years" love this man
One More Year is a manifesto. I think Kevin's whole ouvre is about surrender--not resignation or giving up, but definitely trying to take your hands off the controls and actually spend time in the present l-i-v-i-n. Such a profound statement of intent in today's internet-and-smart-device obsessed world. Not only does he make incredible music--this guy has something to say, and I wish more people would pay attention to it

Listening to Tame Impala through the years I've imagined them being sharp and celebrity glossy, but getting to know what a casual and sincere person Kevin Parker is makes me go whoooaaa
Love kevin! Truly an inspiration for me as an producer/artist, making me feel like i can get somewhat to where he is! I keep coming back to this interview for inspiration one thing i learned from him is to learn what inspires you. what brings you the ideas to music and its done wonders for me. One day I’ll work with kevin man i know it
Saw him this evening he was amazing absolutely fantastic show his music is amazing
@Name Face thanks i will do that
I personally hear strong notes of Supertramp (It Might Be Time), Unknown Mortal Orchestra (Is it True), Toto (Lost in Yesterday), Mars Volta (Posthumous Forgiveness) in this record.
Completely agree with you!
Loads of Supertramp
Lost In Yesterday also gives me tons of Phil Collins/Genesis vibes
Most comments are from 4 years.. obssessing with Kevin is a still going thing here
Zane out here looking like Pep!
The quintessential LA sound as background to a Kevin Parker interview: leafblowers and garbage trucks.
Freakin love these interviews. The location choices and the depth are too perfect
This album man, like I can’t even explain the feeling
such a genius love you Kevin Parker
great interview, what a treat! Its so personal and lengthy!
This man makes me proud to be from Perth!
Melodk Eye is the next Tame Impala for real. Lefty upsidedown backwards guitar player, mind bending 🤯
I just went to one of his concerts for the first time (The Slow Rush Tour)….. best time in my life. Ive been a huge fan of Kevin for the last 3yrs and seeing him life was amazing.. light show and energy was unbelievable.. next time i will have some drugs 🥴
I can assure you, with drugs it was an unreal experience. The best concert I’ve ever been to!
the interviewer is amazing, so on point with the questions and interesting and very familiar with records
What a guy. Thanks Kevin!
Zane actually asked questions that I’ve always wondered like the lull between SNL, Coachella, and the expected album. Kevin is just a regular dude and I think we can all appreciate his down to earth-ness.
I love how Kevin got full "I love my wife" vibe just like Chance, but beside The Big Day, TSR is good
I always thought niggas gay
Grandmaster Shaolin which one?
@@travis6694 which one what?
The Slow Rush is Kevin's album and The Big Day is Chance the Rapper's album
aquinoguh comment was to “grandmaster shaolin” I asked which one he thought was gay
@@travis6694 oh my bad didn't saw the mention
mind's totally fucked up about the world situation lol
Things i got from this interview:
1. Kevin is literally a musical god
2. Such deep thoughts about time and space
3. He looks way too comfortable; give this interviewer a raise
4. Kevin is an attractively awkward man
5. His mind is vibrating at some freakishly high frequency, which clashes with the frequency of the universe and then syncs beautifully into waves that aliens interpret as secrets of their ancestors
6. I appear to be in love with this strange dude
29. Zane seems to look at him with such a perplexed face - I'm not sure if he doesn't like the guy with his unique approach or because the sun's in his eyes...
Saw Tame at Bestival 2015. Hands down best show I’ve ever been too! Smashed it.
i just learned today that kevin single handedly produces and records everything. my mind is blown
Zane: "did you dig it up?"
Kevin: "NO. The whole idea is that itll be there until the end of time.....or like...alines coming down in like 200 years"
love this man
first time watching an interview from Tame Impala and feels as authentic as Yung Lean. This is great.
He fucking nailed it!! I love it perfect
Not only does he make incredible music--this guy has something to say, and I wish more people would pay attention to it
This interview is everything to me rn
What an honest and pure individual. Thanks for making me feel less weird about recording and just going in the studio by myself with a bag of weed and some beer.
Just saw him in San Diego, certified 🐐
Had a really good talk with him the other night, God I love him.
zane? or kevin?
@@Willbebads Kevin
What did yall talk about?@@Brodzzzzz
In my opinion The Slow Rush is Kevin's most ambitious and strongest album. It's progressive in the true sense of the word. Interesting time for pop music; real artists like Kevin are getting mainstream credit and attention which is good!
@Sheila Koala Interesting. Your loss i suppose.
Posthumous Forgiveness is an absolute piece of art. I swear to god I've listened to it over and over since the first day I heard it. I cant believe how talented you are Kevin! So fucking cool
Kevin puts time into his craft I really respect that!! The Slow Rush really resonates with what's been going on with the whole corona virus pandemic too, so the album helped me see the light even in the darkness of our times!
I love him so much, his music has helped me so much in life and moved me. He’s so wickedly talented and I resonate so much with his lyrics 🥲
it doesn´t matter where he records. he is a spaceman. up there with the beatles, brian wilson etc.
i could listen to kevin talk for hours idk why
update: it’s the accent for me
