The red bowl was the best mahogany bowl that I have seen in a long time... I would never think about painting such a lovely red mahogany bowl. A cleaning and oiling or waxing would have been all that it would have needed to really bring the out the beauty of the natural red mahogany.
You do you. Not everyone is you.
@@nangel270 The original look was nice but the color change is fantastic in my opinion! Options are endless.
She did say that sanding/cleaning did not work well.
@ L Jackson , I totaly agree with you. I never paint beautiful solid wood that is not damaged. Use paint on cheap, damaged or veneered wood to enhance it. Same with good wood furniture. I never paint it either.
@@nangel270 you do know everyone is entitled to an opinion that doesn't always agree with yours..
I think the casserole holder woold look beautiful with a drop in thin wood insert. Great for serving snacks, drinks and tea.
Great idea!!
Would have been way prettier if you had used luan (super thin) plywood insert and some silver polish.
@@sandraisaak3802 either way it looked great what she did.
I paint over things all the time, but knowing you painted over a beautiful mahogany wooden bowl nearly gave me a heart attack. Lol. I could never do it. A solid cleaning and a good oil would be as far as I ever could have gotten on something so naturally beautiful.
Yes, I just about had heart failure WHEN you took bleach to that beautiful Solid Mahogany bowl.
I would say that the bowl is rosewood!! A beautiful and valuable element unfinished with paint over that amazing finish. Love the basket also,. Clever idea for the silver plated casserole holder.
Thanks for watching!
I concur, beautiful rosewood.
loved them all
Thank you!
Those are votive cups for candles so you guessed well! The sewing machine drawer would be a great planter I think. I love your creative mind: you're a woman after my own heart! My favorite was the casserole holder!
Great idea for the sewing machine drawer!
This lady is really worth watching
😊😊
Adding feet to your projects really elevates them (literally!)!! 😉 I would not have seen the vision to add feet to any of these. Love how they all turned out! I’m now looking around my house to see what could use a little lift.
Haha!! Yes literally! Keep hunting, you'll find something! Thanks for watching!😊
Im Mesmerized...........😃My fav was the scalloped platter...but ALL were amazing.....
I like the bowl and the octagonal tray. Everything doesn’t need little legs….a few is okay, but not every piece. Love your hard work and ideas!
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND VERY PATIENT !
That sewing machine drawer would be nice as a toilet tissue holder as tall as it is, or a display for wash cloths and hand towels. What great ideas you come up with for the things you find! This my first time watching and I will check out your next projects.
I liked everything in the original condition!
Beautiful transformations! You had me when you said that you made the backs of items as pretty as the front. I don’t like to see a crafter make something lovely and then turn it over and there are stickers, dirt, etc. Love your ideas! Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much!
You are precious. How fun to see the transformation of each great find. Pretty paper on that table too. Liked them all but I think the shape of that l'il table got a big thumbs up. Blessings Always.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words 😊
Hi Cindy! This is the first time I have seen one of your videos and I love them! Not only your finds and your creativity, but the way you show and explain everything makes it well worth the watch! Thank you so much!
So glad you like my style of demonstrating projects😊
I love the sewing drawer with legs.
LOVED all the items. I especially love how you take the time to finish your the BACKS of your pieces as well so they look as nice as the front. So many people think "no one will see the back" Sorry; but that's the 2nd place I look after looking at the front. If they skimped on that part, where else did they skimp at is how I feel. I was always taught "something worth doing, is worth doing right". I suppose that's why I have such an A personality but I was raised in a military family as well. This was the first video I've watched of yours but am looking forward to watching many more. Thanks!!
Thanks for the encouraging words Janice! You and I were raised in a similar way!
My favorite was the drawer and spindle legs❤️❤️
I loved the basket, the tray and the bowl you painted gray. I believe that wood on the bowl is Purple Heart wood. It looks a lot like the wood that my parents had made all we 6 girls hand mirrors made custom for Christmas gifts as we got into our middle aged years. It is gorgeous and I was sad to see it painted but it does look lovely with the gray. Purple wood is very very expensive wood from the Rain Forest region in central and south america. There are about 20 different species of the wood but it sure reminds me of the wood our mirrors are made of. Very interesting.
I am a new sub as of tonight as I found your tricks and the finished products so interesting!
Best of luck and keep on sharing.......loved by watch of your video!
Blessings
Thanks for the info about the bowl and for joining us! Many people have had opinions about that bowl here in the comments! I'm so glad it stirred a memory for you 😊
I love the passion, even though the history and the value of items is no longer true, especially the bowl and basket. But, it's the owners treasure now and if it makes owner happier that's the value at time! Great passion, love it!
Hello…. Wonderful creative Woman…. Pleasant watching…. Every projects you made is practically use….thank you Cindy
Lady, you are so talented! I'm proud to say I know a woman (even if through RUclips) who is so credible and self-sufficient. Thank you for being such a credit to women.
Wowsa, thank you! I am hoping to inspire others to get creative. It's great to have you here as my friend😊
The serving TRAY I LOVE but the Bleached Basket is my absolute favorite... Great Video.
So glad you enjoyed it! The basket is one of my faves too😊
I was scrolling, and I was thrilled to find your channel! It’s just the type of thing I love to watch. It’s so inspiring, and creative. My fav up cycle from this was the old table top turned riser tray. It looks so good. Keep up the thrift flips.
Thank you so much! I'm hoping to do more of this type of video so stay tuned!
I love the bowl, natural!
I loved what you did with the casserole dish holder. I see these all the time while thrifting. Great idea!
I hope you get a chance to make one!
I have one that was my mother's. What a good idea.
My favorite is the octagon tray and second favorite is the sewing machine drawer. Really I love them ALL!!
I loved that octagon table tray thingy too! It sold immediately in our vendor booth. 😊
I have a close second to the gray bowl. I love the wicker and wood "container" with handles, especially how you applied the paint so that the original wicker shows through.
That gray bowl is pretty popular- several viewers say they love it too!
The bleached out basket was definitely my fav!!!! So glad I found you....
And I'm so glad you did too Barbara! 😊
Great upcycles, Cindy! I love the drawer with legs, I can see that being used in so many ways. Loved seeing your fur baby too, he's such a cutie!
Those little drawers have been one of our top sellers in our vendor booth. People love them! Our little fur baby is a noisy one for sure!🐶
Yes the sewing machine drawer!
I love the scalloped edge tray. Then again they are all beautiful.
That tray is one of my faves too! Thanks for watching!
I Rarely comment but I think everything you do is amazing,You have such a great vision on what to do with each project. I love them all !!
Thank you so much! Your encouragement made my day!
Round one came out to be the best.👍👌
All of your projects came out beautiful.
I am into Thrift Flipping furniture (I just did a ding room table and chairs for my college age daughter for her first apartment) and other small wooden materials I find at thrift stores.
It is so much fun finding a new purpose for them.
This is my favorite kind of video. Taking everyday thrift store items and reimagining them.
I know that "The Dollar Tree" crafting videos are trending hard right now, but I skip those and look for content like yours. Keep thrifting and upcycling.
So glad you enjoyed this projects! I'm with you about the dollar store crafting. Thrift stores are filled with so much goodness!
I think adding feet to those items was genius! 💕
Thank you! The little feet really elevate the pieces😉😉
The scalloped edge tray was my absolute fave!
I enjoyed watching the entire video.
Glad you liked it!!
I wish I lived in your street to come play! I loved that little table! With leaves on it! Eucalyptus!
The bowl, and octagonal ( ?) tray were beautiful after cleaning and before “ improving”
Loved the basket and the scalloped basket too. Thank you for showing how you did the crackle tone on the long drawer too. Everything looked beautiful after finishing.
You are so welcome! So glad you enjoyed the projects!
First time 'watcher', and I'm hooked! You are so relatable, it's like watching a good friend who's honest with us about not knowing what everything is! 😊
Thank you so much!! It's fun letting others 'in' my workshop to work on projects!
Ian glad I came across your Channel. I what you do, my Favorite everything
Awesome, thank you!
Thank You for Painting the Back of your Items, so many You Tubers are in such a hurry to finish their projects, they don’t even care to Paint the Back of their items, I do not buy anything that the back is not finished:
Thanks for noticing!
Yes!! I restore and refinish furniture and I will never not paint or refinish the back!! I can’t stand it when it’s not done. It doesn’t look finished. Or not painting the inside sides and bottoms where the drawers go.
I agree. And I’m the same about home improvements. When they change colors of cabinets but leave the inside the original color 😩
I guess I want people to question if something has been restored or if it’s original. Or my OCD just takes over. 🤣
Amen! It sets her apart from many others! My thought is this: If you’re going to put the time and expense into repurposing/upcycling an item, why not take a few extra minutes to finish off the back to complete the project? I’m amazed at how infrequently I see this done. 🤷♀️
Beautiful work
All your projects pretty. I think your tray with the beautiful paper was my favorite. Have a blessed day.
Thank you! You too!
I love the sewing machine drawer that you put the legs on. I have some never thought to do that. 💕
Those little sewing drawers are easy to find all by themselves. They just need a new purpose!
I like the tray and the green bowl. Good job.
Loved the wood bowl (just the color it was though.....we have a 7' plus long T.V. cabinet the same color and our dining table is just near it). That bowl would've been a perfect centerpiece with aloes and succulents in it in our home). So you see you might still have some of the older generation as customers if you just clean up some of these items
Yes the ones with the great taste and the pocket full of money.
how do your neighbours cope with that barking dog?
Hello Cindy I’m so glad I found your channel. I am a new subby . Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed day 💞
Welcome Page! So glad you joined us - blessings to you too!
The silver riser! I see those all the time, never knew what to do with them!
Cool way to make a really special piece! Would make a very nice plant riser,
indoor or out. I love the tray too.
The silver tray would be adorable with plants on it!
I LOVE ALL OF THEM CAN NOT WAIT FOR ANOTHER VIDEO THANK YOU SO MUCH .HAVE A BLESSED DAY.ALSO HI TO THE DOGGIE🐕🌻✝
Thanks so much!🐶 Barkly says hi!
Hello Cindy! I am so happy to have discovered your channel as this is exactly what I enjoy watching! Every one of your projects turned out beautifully and I love them all, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would have to be the table top turned tray with the paper. Love it!
Thank you so much! Peel and stick paper works wonders!
I love all, but the scalped tray is favorite!!
Thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
I loved the scalloped edge tray. I think I would have put a thin board at the bottom of the silver item and use it as a tray to set on my dressing table to ‘corral’ my perfume bottles that are randomly all over it.
Great idea!! Omgoodness that is a brilliant idea!!
Tray turned out very nice
Love all of the projects you repurposed, brilliant ideas for all of them! Thank you for the inspirations! Delaware looks like a brilliant place to find things to thrift shop.
We have some great shopping spots!
@@ReinventedDelaware I’m originally from Maryland and remember driving through Delaware to go to Rehobeth Beach or Ocean City, Maryland , and remember driving through many of the small towns that would have those lovely auction/ thrifting places. Currently live in England now, have some lovely antiques over here, and bought quite a few antique furniture. I’ve had the seats of my antique ladder back chairs rewoven, using dried grass/ reed. Come to find out a blind man redone it! Turned out beautiful!
Would love to visit Delaware again sometime soon when I visit my sister in Maryland.
Liked the scalloped wood basket... I, too, put legs on most of my wood crafts. Thanks for your ideas.
You are so welcome!
I just found your channel. Really enjoyed it. Love how you did the serving dish and the basket. So adorable. Thank you for the ideas.
Thank you for watching 😊
Scallop tray my favorite! Thanks for sharing!❤️🤗
Thanks for watching 😊
The scalloped edge tray was my favorite! You did such a great video of all the projects, thank you! 🌼🌿
Thanks so much! 😊
Oh that mahogany bowl was gorgeous! An oiling would have been perfect!
That’s true - thanks for chiming in😊
Hi Cindy! My favorite piece is the grey bowl -- perfect color and finish for it. I also love the silver chafing dish with its ornate elegance contrasting with the picket fence top you created for it.
Thank you so much! That bowl looks much better! Glad you enjoyed the projects!
@@ReinventedDelaware The wooden bowl is probably mahogany. It is a very rare and expensive wood. I was hoping you would just varnish it and bring out it's beauty. To each his own I suppose. :D
You ruined the mahogany 😢
I liked the basket and all really im just starting to do more so it was nice to view others vission
We all have so many ideas and it's great to get inspiration from others!
The scalloped edged tray was my fav!! Tks for your inspiring ideas❤️
Hope you can find one and make a tray too!
@@ReinventedDelaware I have a large old brass plate.. Looks really shabby as it isn't pure brass. Now I just need some spindle legs and paint.. Thanks again!!
Scalloped edge tray is a win with me!
Me too! Thanks for watching!
My fav is the sewing drawer with the spindle legs! Really cute! First time seeing your channel and I subscribed!
That’s one of my faves too! They’re so easy to make! So glad you have joined us here😊 Thanks for subscribing!
Great projects. I liked them all.
So glad you enjoyed them!
I loved everything you did, so pretty! Love the little legs on things. Love the tray from the table top. For me, I would have kept the bowl in natural wood, but that's just me. Well done!!
So glad you enjoyed the projects 😊
Same here about the bowl.
Re: the bowl. Me too. It's made of an exotic wood (Someone suggested purple heart wood. I was thinking rosewood.) would fit right in with classic Chinese decor.
MY FAVORITE IS THE RECLAIMED WOOD MADE INTO THE METAL TRAY..... LOVE THE BASKET TOO WITH THE HYDRANGEAS ... GREAT VIDEO...
So glad you enjoyed the projects!
The picket board silver tray is beautiful! I have one in my sash, and now I know what I'm going to do with it! Thank you!!!
Yay!! Have fun upcycling!😊 and thanks for watching!
really liked the bleached basket. They were all nice, but liked the color the basket turned out.
I love the color too!
I absolutely choose the bowl, although I would prefer natural wood, no matter it was dark/red. I'm just a fan of wood as is.
Natural wood would have been a lovely option for many 😊
Amazing in every way, simply perfect
Thank you so much 😀
This is my first time to your channel. I watch other creators who flip finds but I was intrigued by the items you selected at the beginning of your video. I haven’t finished watching yet but I decided to pause, comment and subscribe. I love the drill attachment you shared. I liked the sanding sponges you mentioned as I too have arthritic hands as well as nerve damage. It definitely makes things more difficult but not impossible. Anything I can find to help with those issues means a lot. Work smarter not harder is my motto. I loved the projects you shared. I have seen risers made from the silver platter holders before but they cut the wood to fit on top of the bottom lip on the inside. I’ve never seen someone clean them up, use gilding wax or create the riser in this way. Quite a few people are into tarnished silver these days. I love learning about new products and new ways of creating something special. The gilding wax was great. Especially if tarnished silver doesn’t sell well in your region. This is also the first time I have seen someone brush on bleach with the bleaching method. I had only heard of submerging items in a tub of bleach. That’s exactly why I have never tried it before. It seemed so messy and like a waste of product. I think my favorite from today is the sewing drawer on spindle feet. I love to put feet on things. Especially with spindles but yours turned out absolutely darling. Thanks a ton for all of the great tips and tricks you shared today. I look forward to binge watching your videos. 😊
Omgoodness, your comment has brought a smile to my face and my heart! I'm so glad that you enjoyed the video and our projects. The silver tray/picket fence board repurposed project has been a great seller in our local vendor booth. I hope you get to make one (or more!) too! I'm hoping to do regular upcyling videos in the future so stay tuned! :)
@@ReinventedDelaware I'm so glad my comment brightened your day even if just a bit. I will definitely continue watching. I learned so much from watching 3 videos. Much more than I have learned in a very long time. You make beautiful projects and you're an amazing teacher. You're stuck with me now. 😊❤
Crackle draw was my favorite ❤Nice creative finds!
So glad you enjoyed the projects! Thanks for watching 😀
I loved the basket.
Love the scalloped tray!
I love the tray but I also love the color of that bowl.
I'm so glad you like the bowl! Many people didn't like it. Fortunately, the person who bought it loved it too! 🥰
I love your upcycles. I just found your channel and will be watching. Thank you for sharing all these wonderful ideas.
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed the upcycles!
Love your channel…can’t wait to see more!
More to come!
Love all the projects
Thanks! So glad you enjoyed them!
Thank you. I love the box on legs. The tray if fencing is a sooo cute.
Thanks!
Nice work- thank you!
Thank you too!
My favorite was surprisingly the dark grey wood bowl.
I loved the bowl.
Beautiful! Oddly enough, you really encouraged me when you said something about your arthritic hands! I was limiting myself and rather blue about my wrists and hands. Well if you can, so can I!😀 Thank you!!! John 3:16❤️
You can do it!
My favorite is... All of them 😁
That bowl is purple! The wood it was turned from on the lathe is that color! There are so many natural occurring woods with so many colors, stripes and even black as in ebony. This bowl is made from Purple Heart the best that I can see. Maybe two woods. What I can say for sure is that I have never heard of bleaching wood.
Thanks the info Catherine! 😊
The drawer w legs is my favorite
I like the sewing table drawer on legs.
They are all beautiful and unique
Thanks Susan😊
After all the struggles you had with the wooden bowl, you got it just right! Prettier now than when it was new.
Agh, that bowl was such a pain! Perseverance paid off!
Brilliant! The tray was my favourite as well.
So glad you enjoyed it!
I really liked the sewing machine drawer☺️👍
First time catching you! Your projects were amazing
Thanks so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed the projects!
These are great ideas cindy!!!
Thanks Stacy! Paint is a miracle worker!
I liked the silver tray n the drawer w spindle legs very cute
Stay tuned for my next video - I just found another one of those silver trays!
Love the drawer.
Love the original colour of the bowl. Mahogany wood
You do great work. I just loved the mahogany colour that’s all each their own 💞
I like everything you made and I love everything about you. I wish I was your neighbor! This is my first time seeing your channel and I am now a subscriber. My favorite thing about your channel is that you do a step-by-step as your ideas come and go and when things don’t work out you allow the viewers to see how are you worked around that. I have my own channel and I don’t focus on all the editing to keep really professional and just try and make people feel that they’re sitting in the room with me. You do a great job at that! My favorite was the wood bowl!
I’m so glad you found us here! And thank you for the kind words😊 Having an upcycling kindred spirit as a neighbor would be fun! Thanks for subscribing!
The bleached basket came out really great!
Bleach made such a difference - I will definitely do it again!
