I can’t resist bragging. In my favorite Denver thrift store, Mile High, I found an oriental rug for $39. ❤it is about 4x 6 ft. When I had it cleaned the oriental rug expert said “ i have good new and bad news. Of it were from Persia it would be worth $10,000, but it is from Pakistani and only worth $5,000. It is by far my best ever find and still beautiful. The rug you found is beautiful too. My favorites are those with red.
@@workingclassdog21 No . The one in Denver. Now I live in Sarasota and that chain, Red White & Blue opened a store near me. I’m in Love again. It’s agazing
Great finds! The rug looks fantastic in your bathroom. I lucked out and found a gorgeous room size Chinese wool rug for my bedroom at the local habitat for humanity store for $30!
@8:26, the rush seat chairs you were crazy about, you said were French Country. My 4 poster bed has a similar carving. Those hand made 4 knotty pine chairs would go perfect with my table❤️ They're beautiful! Thanks☺️
Girl, that antique chest of drawers should have been the first thing in your car....it would've fit! I'm drooling at all of the beautiful furniture they had there! Makes me want to fly to Kansas City and go thrifting and then rent a UHaul to drive home! :-) Great haul--I think the wool runner is absolutely stunning.
On the rug use only cold water because it will shrink then get absolutely all water out so it does not shrink while drying. It is almost worth it to have someone come in to clean it.
There are some pretty decent thrift stores in Kansas city. The Waldo city area also has a few good ones, especially the City Thrift. My husband has bought some French cuffed dress shirts there that had Saville Road tailoring tags from London still on them. They fit him perfectly and were an amazing bargain. Bought a heavy vintage cast iron bistro table with a beveled glass top and chairs for our patio for $40. And i mean heavy. Good furniture as well as home goods. Savers thrift stores are also wonderful, we frequent the ones on the North end of KC near Liberty or on Barry Road. I saw someone in the comments mention Hillcrest thrift and I second that recommendation as well, they're outstanding!! Tons of furniture and the store is put together so nicely. We live one and a half hours north of KC and go there every few months. Glad to see somone giving KC thrift stores a shout out! Happy thrifting!
I live in Liberty, and love Hillcrest Hope Thrift store. Liberty Antique Mall has sadly closed, but many of its vendors have moved to Excelsior Springs.
I bought a turquoise and brown velour patterns long chaise Lounger that’s filled with feathers right by my home. It’s high quality and It’s perfect for my front foyer. 😊
Lived in STL for most of my life. Been in Minnesota for 9 years. You're absolutely correct! I have a store here that has supplied my entire 2 bedroom apartment. I didn't bring much furniture with me. What I did bring, I replaced. I never found anything in STL.
I liked the hand made looking old set of 4 wooden chairs! If possible I would gotten at least 2 n would have tried to stuff all 4 in there. Not sure which chairs U mean. You have a pleasant voice ❗Thx!!!! Good to be a couple enjoying thrifting!!🎉🎉t
Omg, I love those rustic looking chairs that were $15 a piece and the two older pieces of furniture, the chest and the dressing table were just beautiful.
Strap that vintage chest of drawers to the top of the car! Lol. Also the drop leaf table, French country chairs. I'm also a blue and whiter.just discoVered your channel and enjoyed this trip.

What great finds! I think I would have had to rent a truck to get that gorgeous dresser! They had so many nice pieces of furniture. The runner looks amazing in your bathroom! I live in Williamsburg, just outside of the Colonial area. I’ve walked past Kings Arms Tavern many times. Enjoy your pretty plates, that’s a great price.
Really nice finds. Love the tea kettle so much. Really really really love your Boston‼️👩🏻🦳🐾 I’m in between and can’t wait to start my hunt for a new baby. #6. Thanks for your channel share. carla ohio
Just found your channel, and love seeing what you picked up. I’ve never seen that much furniture at a thrift store, wow! Love the chairs you selected, also really loved that set of 4 rustic wooden chairs, not my style, but so cute. A fishing cabin would definitely be perfect for those. The rug you found and that piece of art were my absolute favorites. That artwork looked like an original ink wash or water color. What a score! Was it signed? Anyway, home recovering from retinal eye surgery so think I’ll go peruse some more of your videos! 🌸
I'm not a big fan of rugs of any kind in the bathroom if they aren't the throw in the washer quite often type. I believe they can harbor bacteria. I really like the blue abstract watercolor, but don't expect it to last long at all if it's an original and if you keep it in a damp area like a bathroom because just as your mirrors can fog up, the glass on the artwork will fog and collect moisture eventually (actually won't take too long) and ruin the paper and make the paint run. Don't mean to sound negative. I just really liked your pick there and want you to get a long life out of it. If it's a print, the paper will still become damaged and wavy, but at least the color shouldn't run as much. Those 4 rustic chairs! I'd have found a way. I bought a Heywood Wakefield table with 6 chairs in Kansas City once. I was driving a Honda Accord back when they were really more of a sporty car as opposed to a sedan. I got the whole set in that car with all the windows and doors closed properly. Still don't know how, but I REALLY wanted them. 😀
I live in Kansas City please give location to this great Salvation Army. I volunteer at a nonprofit thrift store. That’s north of the river in Kansas City. It’s a ministry that helps the homeless, so if you ever get back to Kansas City,…..it’s called Hillcrest thrift store.
Hillcrest has been recommended several times so it’s definitely on my list! Sounds like a great place to check out. This Salvation Army was in Overland Park. Not sure if there is more than one there. 💕
Is there a way to determine whether the teapot is stainless, gorgeous piece. Tanya, you mentioned you will be cleaning the rug. Could you share how you would go about that? I picked up a beautiful wool rug at a yard sale.
I haven’t researched the tea pot yet. Not sure how to determine stainless. Maybe someone will give a tip in the comments? 🌸We just used our little green machine to clean it. Probably need to get it professionally done if it were bigger or really dirty! Thanks for stopping by!
Very fun to watch… and that’s not a tea kettle… That’s a water kettle… Is it stainless steel? It’s definitely a keeper… I myself him five hours away from Kansas City but next time I go, I am definitely going to hit the Salvation Army store! Is that the only Salvation Army store in Kansas City? Per chance what is its address… ? Hehheh
I would like to know what part of KC the salvation army you were at is located. I periodically go to KC and have visited a few thrift stores but don’t think I have been to this one.
Hi Tanya All furniture ,rugs and heavy items cost only $5/each at the Goodwill Outlet store in Kansas City Mo. There is no sale tax at Mo thrift stores. I purchase a beautiful wool runner and a 8x10 wool area rug. Both $5 each. The large rug will cost me $100 to have it professional clean. I thought about trying to clean it myself much too large and heavy. PS no children under 16 allow in the store with parents.
Good luck with a 100% wool rug. Wool rugs shed really bad. I was constantly sweeping little particles. It was a good brand and an expensive rug that I really liked, just not that part of it.
This was such a fun trip. We’re planning another one soon! Do you have a favorite thrifting spot? Share in the comments! 🎉
