Way back I had dual Alpine 3541s running All Alpine tweeter’s, Alpine door speakers, & Alpine rear speakers and a Hifonics Zues (200x1) in my 93’ Foxbody Mustang 5.0 with (2) Kicker 15” subs and it was my “dream machine!” It screamed and boomed like no other!#🔊#Hifonics#Alpine#Kicker@Greg Blau
I'd like to know, are these recommended just basiscally on their output or the quality of the output? I am not an SPL fan, I prefer SQ. But since no one really does SQ tests on the internet, and just loudness, which are these rated for?
MisterEE100 I try to straddle the line of power and sound. I think they all sound pretty good ok subs with the exception of the Taramps HD it’s more of a power amp to my ears. I’ve heard the new smart 3’s sound pretty good tho...
So, I really liked my Audiopipe APMI MIni 2k amps. I ran 2 one on each sub (SQ HDC3 15s) and they were awesome little amps for only $170 each. I pulled between 2200 and 2400 watts each on the meter. I even broke out a few times at over 5000 total watts. I switched to the Soundqubed 2250s and I don't pull as much power but they sound a little better.
Good amp well over 2000 watts with 0 gauge terminals and comes with metal bass knob, even the RP 1500.1 does 1900 dynamic with metal bass knob for179 only downside is 4 gauge terminals.
If there is a new prime series... It will be the 3rd gen.. Thanks for the list.. You called audiopipe an alpine.. On the last count down.. Its cool lets us know your digging what u do
the pioneers are legit , many people rave about skar but for the price and output the pioneer is a better choice over the rp1200 or rp1500 , the pioneers sound better and do more power on the lows , thats something the dyno dont show . also they are very reliable . good list , i own all of these other than the orion and different age hifonics
I have older alpine versions MRP 500 watt mono block amps and they still work great never any issues from purchase date. I use them on an Alpine 10” R series duel voice coil as one amp per coil 600 total output at 4 OHM. My amps stay cool all day long. Never clip or distort. Bought back in 2008.
Great video! the Alpine is a good pick i thought abought buying one just to add to my collection they also have a 2 channel model that matches for $82 on amazon👍
What does the build quality feel like because at that price I know that every manufacturer you mentioned will just swap out the amp instead of trying to repair it but what about when the warranty runs out do you think they would be worth having them repaired? That’s why I mentioned build quality. Do you think they will hold up over the next few years. I have amps that are well over 20 years and still going strong. Great video my friend.
Carlton Miller I say for sure the Pioneer/Alpine/RF amps are built very well and should last a while. The others are really up for debate, but they also do the most power so it’s a balancing act.
I know that people are going to tell me that I'm stupid for not getting an Orion, but I have owned MANY different car stereo setups over the years and I have ALWAYS had good experiences with Soundstream. My last Soundstream setup was a Reference 1000x4 on four of the old school round Kicker Solobaric 10s and it hit hard with tight bass and no distortion. Anyway, I have two Sundown Audio SA12D2s running at 1 ohm (in a 3/4" MDF double wall box that I built with a 6x12 Aeroport) on a Soundstream Rubicon Nano RN1.5000D and it sounds REALLY good on half gain. I paid $185 for the amp and while I'm SURE it makes nowhere near the 5000 watts max that it claims (it's rated 2500 watts RMS @ 1 ohm), but I wanted a 1 ohm stable amp. It's wired with a big 3 upgrade with all 0g OFC wire with reducers, and because I chose the more powerful model it NEVER overheats or cuts out. I got sick of using Maxi fuses, so I went with a 200A breaker this time and it's never tripped yet (knock on wood). That being said, I'd LOVE to have either an Orion HCCA or a Taramps 3000W for my next amp.
There are so many powerful budget amps under 200 bucks that actually meet or exceed ratings. Ive heard good things about the Skar amps, sound qubed, and plenty of small and powerful full bridge amps. There is also no shortage of big subs on the cheap that can take the power and sound decent. Used to be if u wanted a 1000 RMS sub u were spending $500 minimum now u can get a beast 12 for 150 bucks.
The Orion XTR class AB amps are pretty powerful too. After seeing Dereck's video of the 2500.1D, I recommended a friend on getting the Orion XTR500.2 class AB. He put it on a set of 10" Infinitys I sold him, and that little amp pounds the heck out them just as much as my trusty old PPI PC2150!!😳 They have them all the way up to 2,500 watt versions but haven't been seeing them much lately. Almost as if they're discontinuing the 2 channel class AB XTR amps. 😞 In any case, all the ones you talked about are great amps too. Excellent video Robert!! 👌
Skar rp1500, toro r5, tarampa hd3000, ct sounds t1500/1000, and even tho they arent the best ampa the soundstream tarantula4k is pretty damn good numbers for right at 200. Budget rp2000 basically. Not bashing any of your picks but i go price vs watts and the alpine and rockfords cost too much per watt to just have nicer crossovers basically..
I have a audiopipe 1800watts going strong for over 5yrs & multiple skar amps under $200each and well worth the price. As a old school bass head im amazed how good amps are for the money now.
i know it was a while now since you made this video but i would love it if you can dyno the lanzar vector 6000 watt amp its surpringly cheap under $150 which is crazy so def would love that amp to be dyno and if you can give your thoughts on it thanks
Good call. I have the LP1000.1 and it's a good amp for the$. I replaced it with a RF punch 1000.1bd which is much more $ but much more amp and the C. L. E. A. N feature is the real deal.
HifiVega I’ve heard there’s a voltage issue with it and the gain has to be set different for 1 and 2 ohm. I can’t really explain it but there was a video on it
I just bought a Taramps md8000.1 2 ohm to power my 3 American bass TNT 15s. Had to get two runs of 3/0 welding wire to feed it enuff amperage and voltage.
@@jeremys8360 all welding cable is ofc 3/0 is just a bit bigger than oversized 1/0 car audio power wire. Each run can carry 450 amps and the md8k pulls just under 900 amps full tilt with a sine wave. I used welding wire cause it's under my truck along frame rail and welding wire has a better insulator in my opinion. Think it'll be better since it's exposed . Can't wait to get everything done so I can get sim videos up. Have videos of my old setup on my channel, 4 soundqubed 8s on 3k.
I love these top 5 top 10 type video's and what a solid list it is , IMO that Hifonics amp is a great deal for what your getting dollar for watt I think we're starting to pay a little to much to these amp dyno videos people have to factor in what your getting power\watt wise for the amount of money your spending if it misses it's numbers a little bit but is at a great price point then it's not that big of a deal Keep these great videos coming my guy #TeamHiFi
I have a ZRX Hifonics myself, figured I'd try a 1500.1 or 1800.1 about 6yrs ago and it is still on the trunk slamming on max gain the entire time. Def been a pretty strong amp imo, and im old lol. Yes JL, Sundown etc is going to be better, but these HiFi aren't too bad for cheap power.
So i have the audio planet pl1500.1m amp installed on the back of my box with 2 alpine 12" bassline subs. Everything is ran professionally. Could i just unplug the pl1500.1m and install the pioneer gmd-9070. This is my first system and from the dyno numbers ive seen it should be a pretty big difference. Hopefully icould just use the existing wiring and bass remote and just plug into the pioneer.
Some other amps that i think are good for under 200 would be the skar rp1500.1, the new sfb1000, and its on sale right now but the alphard machete 1500.1
Frank Guerra fill me in boys. Im looking for a budget friendly build. Thinking old school amp vs new school. MTX thunder series was badass. Whatever happen to Lanzar? Zappo eq? Use to make some expensive ass shit
@@laoilli I don't know about those.i had always just stayed with kicker JBL .there was one that had a weird ass name that started with a h . That one was a Russian name or something.even the subwoofers back then I had me some bmf's. An one of those Kenwood 5 band eq.. now that was a bad ass eq ,I thought it was .good luck to u bro
The skar rp 1500 should of at least been on this list for it not only help put Skar Audio on the map but EVERYONE in the bass scene has used it including myself or has recommended it...due to its reliability, decent sound, and well under rated for roughly 175 dollars.... bass heads from all around...skar is the go to brand for everyone from beginners and experience... great video like always bro
I prefer Rockford not only because they’re built in my home state, they build stuff to withstand our temps in the summer 104*F+ they show how durable and well engineered they are. (Call me bias)
Love RF. I have a RF prime 1200 amp powering 1 Sundown SA-12 and that shit hits hard. The price is fair to what you're actually getting since the RF amps do more than what they are rated.
I have a 12in kicker comp s 4ohm 300w rms and I’m looking for a good amp that can handle had. An audio shop in my area said ds18 amp that’s 1500w would be good but it looks really cheap. Thank you for the video would you recommend anything?
Right now DS18's "Black Diamond" put out some really good looking amplifiers called the DIA-P1500x1D and the DIA2000x1D any way possible you could reach out to them to dyno these? I'm really interested in these!
Best amp u can buy for money BAR-NONE, is the Soundqubed s4-100. It does 200 watts x 4 @2 and i believe around 140 @4. Big D has a dyno vid. I just bought one myself. i think u can get for 159 if u look around def find it for 179 bout anywhere. others: audiopipe 4080, dual da84, and the rockville db45. the soundqubed is as compact as u could want, the rockville is a lil big and the audiopipe has heat issues. Also u might like taramps 800.4 for 149$
i actually would make that the best top 5 budget 4 channels! Ha! Curious what Vega thinks of my advice and amps mentioned and what would u replace w/what other amp? I think e would DEF agree with me on these being some of very best for price u could buy!
Sundown SFB 1000d. Best deal for sure for quality and power. Also skar had class D under 200 and ct sounds has a 700 rms class D for about 140. But can’t believe the sundown didn’t make the cut. I hate that the pioneer doesn’t have hpf or lpf. And I own a Zeus amp it’s the 3200 watt but I have always wondered what the true power, if I could go back I would definitely order a different amp that actually does it’s rated power.
I love the GM 9601. I have 3 installed running 6 DVC 12s @ 1ohm... I run 2 Polk PA2000.2 for mids and highs @2ohm... I'm curious of the output of the Polk Audio running mids and highs at 2ohm... I never see an amp dyno for a full range, mids and highs class A-B or running a 2 ch class D for mids...
Thanks bro, also what the minimum for a 12 inch ported sub for power watts you would go, I drive a Toyota camera and it will be in the trunk, and what sub speaker brands that are not to expensive , but decent would you recommend ?
@@robertlusk8423 probably want something that’ll handle at least 500 watts. Part 1 of my budget subwoofer shootout is up now and honestly I’d recommend any of those subs at their price points
Loved it! Some of the dual Korean amps should at least get a mention. Love to see some vids on efficiency for under 300 in a sub amp! I'm hinting for a car amp for my garage and dont have a lot of current capability. So I may be a little bias
What about the Soundstream AR8000.1D overrated but makes 2K RMS at 1 ohm for way less than $200.00. Or maybe these don't have the best reputation for being reliable? I've yet to hood mine up.
It doesn’t make a big difference for me because I don’t listen to any rebassed music or bass tracks and most music doesn’t dip into the 20’s or lower. If you do happen to listen to those and don’t have a dsp or external crossover this might not be the amp for you
Sounds great with ported setup thats what i got and man all i get is clean bass. Got my gain set to h level frequency 40 hz and bass boost 0 level and hits hard and sounds great.
Performance Teknique ICBM-MONSTER 6000 wish you could do a dyno test on one of these sold mines in 2008 good amp for the money and well built, way better than Planet Audio, Pyle, Pyramid, Rockwood, DHD, Jenson.
Missed out on Belva 3000d. 1800 watts at 1 ohm. Around $150-$170. Actually obliterated my Audiopipe BDC4. Which is why I've sworn off AP and swear by Belva!
Had Zeus they are half their rating true rms so if a Zeus says 2400, it's 1200rms. Did it have fuses? Also I remember reading straight from hifonics years ago it's half.
Hello i am suprised pioneer is on top since its bass boost is 50 Hz i know bass boost is not all that but sometimee you need it like a basic car factory install and i know power is a big deal but fosgate 500 should be higher since they pump close to 630 rms #3 should be MTX thunder 500 or kicker cxa400
I'm tryna look for an amp to power 2 Sony explodes 12s I got 2500 power acoustik amp running it rn but everytime I turn up the gain it cuts off and cuts back on everytime it hits I'm just tryna get sum thats gonna run good thanks in advance
Skar 800.1d and Skar 1500.1d are my budget picks. I bought a brand new 800.1d for $150 shipped. I'm BLOWN AWAY how loud it is on 2 cheap 10" subs. (Skar SDR-10d4 at $90/each) i'd go so far as to say it's comparable to my last set-up. (JL Audio 500/1 on 2 Sundown SA-12d4) Droppin' Quad boyyyy!
That taramps is better for playing midrange speakers. If you want bass use taramps bass line of amps. If you want to play midbass/midrange use the HD or DSP line of amps
V4 should represent that it’s version 4. You should see a d4 or d2 letting you know it’s either dual 4 or 2ohm. That being said a Sundown SFB1000 would be a nice fit with the d4 models and it’s pretty reasonable price wise and won’t put too much drain on stock electrical amzn.to/3X2lvAJ

They definitely seem to do over rated everytime. I haven’t gotten a lot of play time with one yet
If there is a new prime series... It will be the 3rd gen..
Thanks for the list.. You called audiopipe an alpine.. On the last count down.. Its cool lets us know your digging what u do
Bobdodge yeah I added in a text correction I didn’t have time to redo that portion before release 😬
What do you think about MTX? Their amps have always been underrated, and you can get a thunder 500 for less than$200.
I haven’t tried much new MTX, but they’ve always been great in the past
The zrx2416.1d DOES not have 1/0 inputs..but it is a very solid amp and its discontinued
the pioneers are legit , many people rave about skar but for the price and output the pioneer is a better choice over the rp1200 or rp1500 , the pioneers sound better and do more power on the lows , thats something the dyno dont show . also they are very reliable . good list , i own all of these other than the orion and different age hifonics
Honorable mention should go out to the Skar Rp20001 0 gauge terminals metal bass knob and does well over 2000 watts for 212 dollars.
I got an Orion XTR 650.1d on a F Audio 10 at 1 Ohm and it slaps. Would definitely be curious how much power it's making since it's only $130.
Stetsom has a nice line up of amps at different price points.
Great video! the Alpine is a good pick i thought abought buying one just to add to my collection they also have a 2 channel model that matches for $82 on amazon👍
eric dudley Thanks! It is a solid amp for sure
Danny Caballero yeah I’ve seen a few of those around and they huge!
What do you think about skar and sound digital amps. And which ampndo you recommend for 6 mr speakers and which amp for a single 800-1000 watt sub
Power Acoustik RZ1-3500D.. thoughts? It's going for less than $150!..
Looking to put some sound in my Nissan Altima SR
I have a audiopipe 1800watts going strong for over 5yrs & multiple skar amps under $200each and well worth the price. As a old school bass head im amazed how good amps are for the money now.
So much cheaper than they were 20yrs ago......more watts for your money....subs too
Do you think any of your top 5 are good starter amps
They all are imo
i know it was a while now since you made this video but i would love it if you can dyno the lanzar vector 6000 watt amp its surpringly cheap under $150 which is crazy so def would love that amp to be dyno and if you can give your thoughts on it thanks
Skar audio bro! Several amps from the rp series and the lp series for under 200 bucks.
Good call. I have the LP1000.1 and it's a good amp for the$. I replaced it with a RF punch 1000.1bd which is much more $ but much more amp and the C. L. E. A. N feature is the real deal.
I agree hifonics should never even be on the list.
@@hellraiserharry Hifonics is garbage nowadays nothing of what it used to be
Skar Audio. 😏👍
@@alextownsend3264 Nice 👈😁amp.
I run a Toby Hitman on a Pioneer gmdx975 in my sons Tahoe. Stupid loud for the amount of sub power output.
I'm currently running a Taramps on a Skar VXF 12 at 2 ohms and I love it.Havent had 1 problem yet with it.
DA BEARDSMEN I’m really digging the smart 3 now. Makes me wanna pull the trigger and get one
HifiVega I’ve heard there’s a voltage issue with it and the gain has to be set different for 1 and 2 ohm. I can’t really explain it but there was a video on it
I just bought a Taramps md8000.1 2 ohm to power my 3 American bass TNT 15s. Had to get two runs of 3/0 welding wire to feed it enuff amperage and voltage.
erik hall I hope it was ofc wire
@@jeremys8360 all welding cable is ofc 3/0 is just a bit bigger than oversized 1/0 car audio power wire. Each run can carry 450 amps and the md8k pulls just under 900 amps full tilt with a sine wave. I used welding wire cause it's under my truck along frame rail and welding wire has a better insulator in my opinion. Think it'll be better since it's exposed . Can't wait to get everything done so I can get sim videos up. Have videos of my old setup on my channel, 4 soundqubed 8s on 3k.
Thanks to videos like this every one of these amps is 200$ or better except the audio pipe and the Rockford
Amazon be doing that
I love these top 5 top 10 type video's and what a solid list it is , IMO that Hifonics amp is a great deal for what your getting dollar for watt I think we're starting to pay a little to much to these amp dyno videos people have to factor in what your getting power\watt wise for the amount of money your spending if it misses it's numbers a little bit but is at a great price point then it's not that big of a deal Keep these great videos coming my guy #TeamHiFi
Rockville makes some nice amps at below 200 sometimes on their website u can get clearance deals too db15 in particular 1500 watts at 2 ohms
Do a 4 channel amp video now! Great stuff!
In fact do a five channel amp, please 🙏
AWESOME VIDEO AS ALWAYS BROTHER!!!
Thanks!
Hello friend! Do you know a good chinese amplifiers in aliexpress to buy? Thanks.
Excellent video sir.
anvil schneider thanks!
I had that PRIME 500 on a SOUNDQUBED 15 and that slapped
So i have the audio planet pl1500.1m amp installed on the back of my box with 2 alpine 12" bassline subs. Everything is ran professionally. Could i just unplug the pl1500.1m and install the pioneer gmd-9070. This is my first system and from the dyno numbers ive seen it should be a pretty big difference. Hopefully icould just use the existing wiring and bass remote and just plug into the pioneer.
Some other amps that i think are good for under 200 would be the skar rp1500.1, the new sfb1000, and its on sale right now but the alphard machete 1500.1
I have 2 rockford fosgate 10s would you recommend the taramps hd amplifier? Need help lol
Depending on which mode that might be a lil bit too much on them
Thanks bruddie
Which amp Pioneer or Orion has the best damping factor at the lowest at 1 ohm?
My fav def Orion or hifonics, old school stuff, alpha sonic delta sonic, I’ve even had JVC amp that was stronger than ever expected
Hell yeah.i love the old school amps.back then they had more kick then what they where supose to..
I got 3 skars rp1200,rp1500,rp2000 and I love them all
Good video. I'm leaning towards 2 pioneers. 1 on each 12s
Check out the Alpine or the RF Prime or the a Kicker cxa
Perfect videos i like the content awesome
Thanks man! I’ve got an updated 2021 version you should check out
ruclips.net/video/3P_a1Dh9SzU/видео.html
My hifonics works great for already 2 years and it is powerful
I was think can you put a 1500 watt amp on a 1200 subwoofer?
Right now DS18's "Black Diamond" put out some really good looking amplifiers called the DIA-P1500x1D and the DIA2000x1D any way possible you could reach out to them to dyno these? I'm really interested in these!
They look like decent amps
What you think about the soundqubed 2200.2
I haven’t tested that one before, but all their equipment seems pretty solid
I so wish you would do one for four Channel I'm in the market for a good for a channel 150 watts by 4 and higher
@@basslifexxl2391 thanks bro I really appreciate your info now I got some research to do👍👍
Sundown SFB 1000d.
Audiopipe ever❤❤
U the man thanks for showing me about those amps😎
Thanks for watching!
Vega I didn't hear you talk about the taramps 3000 hd or the taramps 1800 they put out huge power for under 200 or at 200.
The HD 3000 was my honorable mention because it’s $205 everywhere
How come you change Numbers, into Fractions ??
I love the GM 9601. I have 3 installed running 6 DVC 12s @ 1ohm...
I run 2 Polk PA2000.2 for mids and highs @2ohm...
I'm curious of the output of the Polk Audio running mids and highs at 2ohm...
I never see an amp dyno for a full range, mids and highs class A-B or running a 2 ch class D for mids...
ruclips.net/video/sDRamutPAec/видео.html
... dont you think the results may be different at 125hz and up vs 40hz?
Just curious is all if output is same at different frequencies instead of always at 40hz...
These things scream😁
laudAF365 you typically get more output at 100hz-up, but not always
@@HifiVega I really wish you could hear my setup...
I appreciate the input... thank you.
HiFi Vega wht Abt Toro audio can u test their amps?
What’s a good five channel amp for not to much?
Check out the Pioneer and Kenwood models
Thanks bro, also what the minimum for a 12 inch ported sub for power watts you would go, I drive a Toyota camera and it will be in the trunk, and what sub speaker brands that are not to expensive , but decent would you recommend ?
@@robertlusk8423 probably want something that’ll handle at least 500 watts. Part 1 of my budget subwoofer shootout is up now and honestly I’d recommend any of those subs at their price points
How does Kenwood rate for bang for the buck on your scale?
Joey Holthusen from what I’ve seen Kenwood seems pretty solid as well
@@HifiVega any chance for future Kenwood dyno numbers
Joey Holthusen for sure, I’m always looking to dyno stuff that hasn’t been done before
I just got a couple alpine 10in. Dual voice coil subs. I'm pretty sure they're 300 watt rms running 4ohm resistance. What amp would be good with that?
The pioneer or the Orion
Loved it! Some of the dual Korean amps should at least get a mention. Love to see some vids on efficiency for under 300 in a sub amp! I'm hinting for a car amp for my garage and dont have a lot of current capability. So I may be a little bias
Those little dual amps are pretty impressive.
What about the Soundstream AR8000.1D overrated but makes 2K RMS at 1 ohm for way less than $200.00. Or maybe these don't have the best reputation for being reliable? I've yet to hood mine up.
I haven’t had any personal experience with that series yet that’s why I didn’t include it
How would the pioneer do with a ported setup? I ask because it seems to lack a subsonic knob.
I have a pioneer ts-1200m sub and I don’t know what amp I should get, what would you recommend
Hmmm for that sub I’d consider the RF prime
Had Zeus they are half their rating true rms so if a Zeus says 2400, it's 1200rms. Did it have fuses? Also I remember reading straight from hifonics years ago it's half.
140 amps of fusing I believe
@@HifiVega Thanks that would make sense.
Bass boost has never been a concern for me personally, but for someone who needs to use it that’s definitely something to consider.
@@HifiVega are you using a equalizer or you keep it off
mcarb80682 I just keep it off
I'm tryna look for an amp to power 2 Sony explodes 12s I got 2500 power acoustik amp running it rn but everytime I turn up the gain it cuts off and cuts back on everytime it hits I'm just tryna get sum thats gonna run good thanks in advance
Nice list.
Byron Chambliss thanks!
Not great for pushing 12s though. Just upgraded from a 10 in to 12 and have to turn the gain up more than I like
Dumb question, but what's the issue with the 4 guage inputs?
With amps over 1k I like to have 1/0 just to help with current flow
That taramps is better for playing midrange speakers. If you want bass use taramps bass line of amps. If you want to play midbass/midrange use the HD or DSP line of amps
Whats the best bass amp for 12” sundown e12 v4 don’t know if that means 4ohm.
V4 should represent that it’s version 4. You should see a d4 or d2 letting you know it’s either dual 4 or 2ohm. That being said a Sundown SFB1000 would be a nice fit with the d4 models and it’s pretty reasonable price wise and won’t put too much drain on stock electrical
