This mostly comes into play if you need something with a small required airspace because most of the other subs are with 1cft on their ported enclosures.
Kicker XPL X10c-4 --- mind-numbing bass at a special price! The XPL X10c-4 is Kicker's most extreme 10" round sub, with excellent power handling and killer performance. @@bobdodge3171 I got 1 for my wife and I was surprised at how hard it hits. been going good for a couple months at 600ish rms. Thinking about adding another one.
You got it right man!! Top 3 for me because of my circumstances of needing a 12” and needing to burp at 42hz are: #1 k6 #2 skar sdr #3 sundown lcs. It’s going to be tough making the final decision since I’ll be ordering 8 of them for the 2020 season, but so far I’m leaning on the k6. Great video though bro!!! Good stuff🤟🤟👍👍👍
Audiopipe bd2 12 is a good 100 dollar sub. 99 on Amazon. 750 RMS, I had three in a triple ported prefab, on a 3k with incredible electrical and they were eating that shit up, my Yukon's trunk, they were BEATING that shit up. I have a good reason to believe they are a bit under rated but definitely capable of 750 or more.
I see a GRS sub in the video pic...what do you think of em? I have both 10's and 12's.. I prefer the 10's myself. The surround roll is heavier duty on the 12 though.
@@DIYAudioGuy what enclosures have you put the 12 in? How did it sound ported if you have tried that? I only tried it in a 1 cu. Ft. Sealed and was underwhelmed lol
@@randyman78596 I built a 4th order bandpass, I nicknamed The box the back breaker. I don't understand exile me right now but it was a one-to-one ratio. It was pretty impressive for just 100 watts.

Would the bd3 12 beat the Rockville 12 if it was same price? I'm looking at the Rockville as well the audiopipe for a budget build maybe even the American bass.
I usually head downtown to my local refurbished store and they sell some decent subs under 100$. I remember back in 2010 they had some kicker cvr’s 12s for like 70$ an I had bought 6 of them at that time.
I know it has nothing to do with the video. But would guys find time measure impedance rise on coaxial speakers. Was interested in JBL coaxial but it has a 2.5 ohm rating. Wondering if that low ohm would harm my JVC car stereo
I use the jbl 6.5 coaxial in my back doors and 2way component in front and my old Sony gigapanel does great , also works ok with my stock infinity 2ohm amp but bass response isn't very good , that amp is pointless anyway since my deck has good power, so straight to deck is ideal for me unless I upgrade mids amp. But I don't need a mids amp the lower ohms allow the deck to push more and its clean . I been very happy with the jbl lower ohm speakers for a few years now .
@@justinkcraig from watching subwoofer videos and impedance rise the have 1 ohm load connected to them and when power goes to them it jumps to 4 ohms so I'm thinking the JBL gto coaxial even though they are rated for 2.5 they'll never hit that low of a ohm with power going to them
Great video. I'll have to check out the Audiopipe, not too familiar with them, but have to agree about the Sevard subs, really good subs and speakers. Rockville, no comment, cuz I don't know much about them, but will check out. thanks!
Can someone recommend the best subwoofers for SQ for 150 or lower and best subs for spl for 150 or lower please, and best amp for em Preferably subs with a max of 500 watts or lower

You got a point, if you did an 8 k612 build that's only around $600! Hook em to a full bridge 5k for around $500....$1100 and a cost of a box(at the moment a box could be expensive tho) you have a LOUD windy setup I'm sure. 2 sundown X12s! Pfffft whatever😛
Best sub 100 dollar subwoofer ever made is the discontinued Sony Xplods. You can literally overpower them with a Sundown audio amplifier. But I am willing to eventually drop a little over 200 dollars per driver on sundown audio’s middle of the road SA series. I don’t really see a point of going over 1000w RMS per subwoofer and that’s just me.
I know this will get laughs but I did a handful of flea market builds. I fell in love with the lanzar ST . God it's cheap but it sounds sooo good. I did a few enclosure and found 1.38 cft sealed makes these 45 dollar double stack subs sound gooooood. Under 50 bucks a sub a person could fill a van..... literally . As long as you keep under 500 watts you shouldn't weld the coil 😂🤣. They sound really good in a giant port SPL box also. Man they are dirt cheap but they get down....it's almost comical the output they have .
I had a Rockville K9 10 inch sub in a two and a half Cube box tuned to 30 Hertz on a 500 w t m a audio 500.1 and it slammed it would Flex my windshield in my little Malibu. I was very impressed with the quality of the sub after hearing all the negatives that has everyone had to say.
Long shot here , but how bout only some 15s under 100...ap has couple, theres q power n so on...there out there just wondering which is the best bang for buck
I just bought one DS18 SLC12S (250W rms, 500 peak) for 80 bucks, I understand they're basically sticking their logo onto chinese products (like most brands anyways) but do you think it's a decent deal? I haven't tried it out since I've still got to get a box and amp, but I'm pretty excited as it's my first decent-sized sub. (I have a Logitech Z333 pc sound system which is a little thumpy)
Oh okay, thanks for the reply though! I've noticed some hate towards DS18 on reddit that's why I was a little worried😅 People seem to love the brand here in Mexico though heh
I also notice you have a kicker 43cvr10 in your video, I have one of those as well in a 1.75 cu. Ft. With 4" precision port @36 hz.. sounds great! Would you or anyone know how they sound sealed? In the manual it states a very wide volume range for sealed enclosures. From what I understand more volume would lower the FS, anyone have any sealed experience with this one?
@@HifiVega thanks for the reply, also do you have an e-mail I can communicate with you on? I have a couple subs in the shop I would like to send you to play with..I have many and need to make room.

Kinda wanting to play around with that sweet little 6.5". I need a platform in the trunk of my work car, and I bet a 1/4-wavelength transmission line would cozy right in perfectly! Although, I worry such a large magnet structure may impede airflow a bit... :\
I haven't powered this setup with a amplifier yet but I have a sondpex speaker box 6.5 inch drivers didn't sound bad don't believe they'll do their 400 Watt rating of the box, not important I originally picked up this box to use as rear speakers in a 86 Chevy k20 custom deluxe 4x4 farm truck. I swapped out the speakers with pyramid originals 6.5 loudspeakers rated at 300 watts a piece only pushing each side with the 45 watts of power the rear channels of my Sony xplod CDx L600X supplies but cheap junk or not wow what a difference I really want to hook them up to a new in box dual xpr 82d amplifier I just had to have for some reason lol, but opened up looked at it thinking this would go great with the dual xdvd770bt stereo my brother in law gave me.. and never did anything with either one. Anyways those loudspeakers I call subs because they hit hard and they are not even getting much power?!
One that wasn't mentioned was the Polk Audio DB 12 I haven't had any experience with the new one but I have the older db1242 they're in the hundred-dollar range rated for 370w sound beautiful and their bulletproof, I'd love to try the new DB 12 + but they're kind of pricey but worth it I'm sure

Yeah I imagine almost all these are gonna be 2.5" VC, single spider, stamped steel baskets, under 25 lbs, 5-600 watts or less. A lot of the cheaper ones polypropylene cones, rubber surrounds, single slug motor. Xmax 15 and under...
HifiVega I had 12” version there square subs. If I ever have some extra money I want to get 2- 4 to put in my trail blazer. I had 2 L5 12’s in college and the Pyle hit just as hard.
After researching I too think the square 12 pyle red label 1400 max is a deal. I plan to buy a couple in near future , specs and reviews are solid for low price . I also like surprising folks when I say pyle not popular overpriced brand. Its not a kicker but pyle has been around since cars first got subs. 1 kicker 12 L7 $300. Or. 6 pyle red label 12 subs for $300 .... That's bargain boom !
justin k. craig think you would be surprised I can only compare to my L5’s but the Pyle hits just as hard in my opinion. It has good Xmax moves a lot of air especially in a ported box.
How you gonna put Rockville over the Blaupunkt 12"? Or even the Sundown LCS 12"? Rockville may have a place but it aint #1. I say this in a ribbing fashion but also somewhat serious one. So don't get mad internet.
I’d take the Rockville K6 over either of those subs and I have used with all 3. I should have slotted the Balupunkt somewhere on the list for sure, but I simply forgot about em lol. There’s always top 10 subs under $50 tho...
I have two gothics in a custom box on an ignite 6k amp pushing 1020 rms and I rattle whole cities.. I highly recommend checking out that setup for a true budget build
My buddy runs 6 hiq 12s in a 4th order wall on 2 DC 3.5ks and he is knocking on 160dbs door... he is about to put a taramps md12k on them and I suspect he will break 160s... I'm biting my finger nails waiting on the hiQ 10s to drop I plan on running 6 of them on 2 wolfram w4500.1s. But when they drop I'll buy 4 and power them on my 1 w4500.1 until I get my wall built. If I were you I would NOT sleep on the hiQ 12s!!! They are monsters!!
Hey HifiVega - your video descriptions would benefit (on videos like this) with corresponding timestamps so people can jump directly to specific products. Great video though!
Decent list but missed a few and your comparing different sizes and I got to say sundown cheapest sub still hit close if not harder then kickervr if they are same size I have both and like sundown much more also alpine r types are awesome I'm sure the s versions are good
I need a couple of thoes savard 6.5 just to play with. I like the alpine s line. Underhung design They sound pretty good in the right enclosure Good list hifi got a good mix of spl sq high power and lower power handling various sizes too.🖒
If I don't like these new cerwin vega hed r 7104s subwoofers when I get it all set up in my early 94 Chevy Silverado Z71 extended cab short bed,I think I'll just track me down the most decent set of Alpine type r 10's probably single coil though I can find,I had the Alpine type r 1221d dual voice coil 12's those were the loudest and hardest hitting subwoofers I've ever heard, but my 84 Cutlass supreme brougham got wrecked and somehow a screwdriver punctured the cone and shorted out one of the voice coils and the surround tore off the subwoofer on the other one.. so I looked around and ended up buying the setup I have now a cerwin vega hed r h7104s set of 10 inch subwoofers and a brand new but open box from Sonic electronicx cerwin vega hed r h7900.4 amplifier but I'm still trying to find a durable decent 10 inch subwoofer box that goes under the rear seat in the 94 Chevy Silverado Z71 extended cab and most of the one's Amazon has and some I've seen through eBay keep coming apart so I haven't bought one yet..
thats a good list. a buddy of mine just bought some DB Drive wdx8s they have direct leads they are little monsters walmart.com had them for about 90$ each but now they are out of stock. he has 4 of them on 1000 watts very impressive.
MuvoTX it’ll definitely handle more than the 300 rms rating. In fact when I used it I was pushing 500 watts to it and it handled it no problem and I’ve seen some people push a ton of power through them for short bursts.
Wasted a ton of money lol. Nowadays I get a decent amount back from YT, but it’s still barely enough to cover what I buy on a monthly basis for the channel 😬
Loved his video! But and he even agrees in his video that a sine wave for a full min at full rms rating is not realistic for people just using the spl in the lanes or everyday use.
I enjoyed the list with only 2 strong objections . 1- 6.5 " cant be subs honestly and 2- if you plan on running any rockville they are made to do 1 dyno run then they are fried.k5,k6,k9 all junk coils
Booooooo!!!!! The savard hi Q 8 should have been in the top 3 if not #1.Lol, love your dedication to the industry, I been an enthusiast since I was 15. The reason I say top 3 is for the sheer fact by numbers it looks like savard mirrored the JL audio 8w7. Now the 8w7 is a incredible performer sq/L arena but savard I feel matches and exceeds in output and performance. I'm impressed because savard doesnt have the facility JL has
The thing about Rockville is to use the CEA rating. If you're expecting a sub-$100 sub to survive 1000W, that's kind of a "You" problem. They should never have rated their shit like that, but seriously, apply a little common sense. My 10" K6 has lasted 2 years on 500W RMS.
I disagree with you completely your number one is a 12' k-6 Rockville is complete garbage subwoofer that probably won't last very long and I know prices fluctuate and maybe I'm not happy because you mixed 10 inches with 12in but I think you should have gave more credit towards the skar SDR 12 rated at 600w when properly broken-in you can throw 600 to 1200 watts at at all day and the 12' Audiopipe bd2 would be my hundred dollar number one choice

They k6 are solid. There are a ton of vids on them in the older series the current are just as good
@@trecedaves3159 right on
You got it right man!!
The3rd ERA thanks homie! I’m looking forward to what you come up with
Audiopipe bd2 12 is a good 100 dollar sub.
Soundqbed hds-212 amazing subwoofer $90 had it for 6ish years. I grossly overpowered, clipped, pummeled with my tool bags and still going strong.
1trucavalier soundqubed makes a solid sub for sure. I beat on a hds2 8 for quite a while
I wish you of Derek would do a Review of the Q Power Super Deluxe Subwoofer
I'm loving it Rockville FINNALLY getting some love This is one of my favorite type of videos HiFi keeping it real.#TeamHiFi 👍🏾
I see a GRS sub in the video pic...what do you think of em? I have both 10's and 12's.. I prefer the 10's myself. The surround roll is heavier duty on the 12 though.
I have a GRS 12, bought it just to screw around with. Cheap fun.
They’re ok... For the price not too shabby

I got a pair of the Walmart exclusive d4 ohm gothics and they are definitely impressive for being under $100 each. Honestly I’m low key hoping people stop gassing them up so they’ll go on clearance so I’ll feel good about grabbing a couple more lmao
Great video! I've been out of car audio for a while and these videos are helping!!!
Ruben Torres thanks! I appreciate you watching
There is no controversy with the K6 as numero uno. My 2x of them pounded out the jams bigly with 700 rms each.
Would the bd3 12 beat the Rockville 12 if it was same price? I'm looking at the Rockville as well the audiopipe for a budget build maybe even the American bass.
Johnny 24 yeah probably
@@HifiVega Thanks for the reply an idea for a video is testing already powered subs great for space savers.
I usually head downtown to my local refurbished store and they sell some decent subs under 100$. I remember back in 2010 they had some kicker cvr’s 12s for like 70$ an I had bought 6 of them at that time.
Where do you find Savard 6.5 for under $100? They are around $140 a piece.
They’ve went up since this video was posted
@@justinkcraig from watching subwoofer videos and impedance rise the have 1 ohm load connected to them and when power goes to them it jumps to 4 ohms so I'm thinking the JBL gto coaxial even though they are rated for 2.5 they'll never hit that low of a ohm with power going to them
Can you redo this? A lot are no longer available (sundown, alpine, power acoustic)
An update is a good idea
Great video. I'll have to check out the Audiopipe, not too familiar with them, but have to agree about the Sevard subs, really good subs and speakers. Rockville, no comment, cuz I don't know much about them, but will check out. thanks!
Should have added the Power Acoustik Gothic series 12 for the money a really excellent sub not a super super high-end sub but a very good sub
I have the GW-124. I'd say it handles maybe 500 Watt in a ported box and not 1200 like it says, but definitely bumps!
Can someone recommend the best subwoofers for SQ for 150 or lower and best subs for spl for 150 or lower please, and best amp for em
Preferably subs with a max of 500 watts or lower
Really surprised not to see the addictive audio excrusi8’s on the list

HifiVega what do you think about the Skar evl6.5 and what would you compare it to
I Know that the ctsounds tropo 15 is a beast but its over 100$ but the tropo 12 is 99.99$ and 600rms handling
I haven’t gotten to use an Tropo’s personally, but I’ve heard good things and they definitely look the part.
@@HifiVega ya they definitely get down. My friend has the 15" tropo on a RF prime 1200 @2 ohm and it gets down!!! In a sealed box around 2.75-3 cubic feet.
I may have a smaller car in my future and it a 85 rx7 and well It has two storage compartment behind the seats I'm not sure if it will fit but I was thinking of buying two of the 6.5 Savards but I only have one Rockford Fosgate Prime R150 x 2 do you thank that would do OK for these little bohemyths and of course all the 6.5 need replacing aswell. I would like to stay in budget friendly mode I have a blaupunkt touch screen that i can Use. the radio in the car is a stock tape player and a stock EQ aswell and I'd like to keep the EQ it works well
That amp would be good for a single sub. It’ll certainly run both you just won’t get their full potential.

Got the sundown audio 12s

Andres Galan I haven’t used any DS18 stuff myself, but people seem to like them from what I see.

They work great in sealed enclosures. You’ll lose some output, but if the enclosure is big enough it’ll play just as low.

If I don't like these new cerwin vega hed r 7104s subwoofers when I get it all set up in my early 94 Chevy Silverado Z71 extended cab short bed,I think I'll just track me down the most decent set of Alpine type r 10's probably single coil though I can find,I had the Alpine type r 1221d dual voice coil 12's those were the loudest and hardest hitting subwoofers I've ever heard, but my 84 Cutlass supreme brougham got wrecked and somehow a screwdriver punctured the cone and shorted out one of the voice coils and the surround tore off the subwoofer on the other one.. so I looked around and ended up buying the setup I have now a cerwin vega hed r h7104s set of 10 inch subwoofers and a brand new but open box from Sonic electronicx cerwin vega hed r h7900.4 amplifier but I'm still trying to find a durable decent 10 inch subwoofer box that goes under the rear seat in the 94 Chevy Silverado Z71 extended cab and most of the one's Amazon has and some I've seen through eBay keep coming apart so I haven't bought one yet..

isnt that Sundown LCS seriously under-rated at 300W? I thought I saw Parker or was it EXO push it with 5k... !!!
MuvoTX it’ll definitely handle more than the 300 rms rating. In fact when I used it I was pushing 500 watts to it and it handled it no problem and I’ve seen some people push a ton of power through them for short bursts.

Bad pick for #1 Parker dacchille just smoked a k6 on rated power. Boo Rockville. Good video though 👌👍
Loved his video! But and he even agrees in his video that a sine wave for a full min at full rms rating is not realistic for people just using the spl in the lanes or everyday use.

The best price of the sub is used sub.
The k6 is a real player..
Totally agree
#1should be the deaf Bonce for the money, check it out.
I only recommend products I have experience with and I haven’t ever used a SDR sub yet
