This is not a subwoofer amplifier. Its a great mid-bass 4-channel amplifier. It doesn't load well and the Pioneer specification sheet tells you what you need to know. Is it a bad amplifier........

Hi, I have a mvh-s520bt and ts-z65ch head, will the dx874 work if connected per channel? and what is the RMS of the tweeters in the kit ts-z65ch. I want to use this ams 2ch on tweeters, 2 ch on mids. Is it possible ?
I too would really like to know the RMS of the tweeters on the ts-z65ch as well! I can't seem to find anything. I'm currently planning on getting the D9704 (until the DX974 arrives I guess) as it's 125w RMS on 4 channels meaning you aren't pushing the amp too hard and you still get everything out of the speakers

You can still run it as for a sub you will just have to used the radios lowpass filter
There is no need for a low pass.... it runs full steam all the way down but doesn't have power.
Can we play four mid range speakers, each having 150 rms power, with this pioneer gm-dx874 amplifier ?
with 2ohm or 3ohm speakers, yes indeed...but with 4ohm speakers, you can't have full volume with low THD (you can reach the full range power and drive speakers in full capacity completely but THD will be increased, distortion will be increased, quality will be decreased and amplifier will be overheated which is not recommended at all)
note: 4*150W RMS speaker are very powerful & earsplitting. if you don't want to use them constantly at full capacity most of the time, GM-dx874 will be sufficient otherwise u can check gm-d9704 (more powerful/ less sound quality)
Yes you can and if they are truly rated for 150 watts, this amp maybe slightly underpowered.
wish you guys did THD+N at 5W and Half of rated power, gives a much better indication of distortion. 1% is pretty terrible and audible
THD-N we can do. We are the only channel that actually has real test equipment, not some "dyno" 5W doesn't really do anything. I agree we maybe should do half power but most people don't care. We are also the only channel that test continuous power.
@@Qualitymobilevideo yea that's why it's such a shame you do it at 1%. Half power is more then enough information to gauge performance of an amp. 5W is what some people do as an industry standard. Some of these amp can do 0.01% (like the kicker ones your reviewed before) those are the amps I'm after at least. It would also be interesting to see SNR as your audio analyzer is more then capable of doing that. I would scrap 1ohm tests on non monoblock amps since it's extremely unlikely anyone would do that. Ether way I appreciate you listing to some feedback!

1% is not audible as long as you don't see the numbers 😂
@@KuntalGhosh The human ear can hear up to 16 Bits of resolution this is 96dB. Thus 0.002%. Anything below is inaudible. Thats where "CD Quality" came from.

I got both and believe me,the pioneer is much better,more loud and powerfull.and the sony doesnt have bass knob.
This amp heatsup a lot. We can easily fry omlet on it
You have it wired incorrectly to the speakers. When we test them we run them continuous and it barely generates heat, you must have it loaded incorrectly.

They are basically identical!
Deaf Bonce MFA 4.180 is much better & doesn't heat up like pioneer gm dx874
So I can't drive two subs and A set Component in my single cab toyota tacoma. I'm not trying spend $500.00 on a JL Audio true 3 channel amplifier... Come on!!!!
