    Thanks for the good info. Was going to remove the front diff. Saved a lot of time. The part # info was invaluable too.

    Very helpful video. My Ranger only has 600 hrs on it but the u- joints were making noise and needed changed. Your method worked well and and saved dismantling the front end and taking the diff out. Thanks !

    i wonder why polaris doesn't go to a cv joint on their drive shafts. i don't know how many rear drive shafts I've replaced on dad's polaris four wheelers for that exact same reason, worn u joints and bad splines. the slop got so bad on the rear diff that i had to replace the whole thing, it just gets rust and dirt in there and wears itself out. pretty nice winter we're having.

    Sweet..im betting the ujoints are going out and causing the splines to go bad after. thoughts on a rubber O ring on the front diff shaft before sliding the prop back on?

      Not sure about putting an o-ring on the front shaft, there is no Groove for it to sit in. The last couple I have done the splines have stayed tight on the front yokes (rusted in) and the U-joints still ended up failing as normal. I have been able to extend the life of the rear prop shaft splined yoke by siliconing around the end of the Yoke to keep dirt and water from entering. Its helped alot.

      Considering using a bicycle tube stretched over the joint and a couple of zip ties.after I fill it full of grease!

    How many miles do you have on it and how many 570 do you have

    • @OldGlory1776
      @OldGlory1776 5 лет назад +1

      There is about 6500 miles and 900 hours on this unit now. The other two 570s have between 600 and 800 hours, probably between 4500 and 6000 miles on them. We bought three of these 570s at the same time a year back. They were on rebate and we were able to reuse our 800 cabs on these models. so far these have been good machines, simple to service good on fuel and easy to repair. So far all three have needed a drive clutch and prop shaft at about the same miles an hours. The clutch would have lasted much longer if Polaris had put the intake for the CVT box up front like they used to. Instead they move the intake behind the seat where it picks up a lot more dust than it should
