ABOUT THE VOICE
The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" returns as Queen of Country Reba McEntire claims her red chair alongside last season's champ, Niall Horan, and returning superstar coaches John Legend and Gwen Stefani as they vie to discover and coach the next singing phenomenon.
The show's innovative format features five stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Performance Shows.
This season, the block returns to the Blind Auditions, and during Battles, each coach will have two steals to use. The Three-Way Knockouts are also back. This time, however, artists will select their own songs to perform.
Once the Live Performance Shows begin, the top artists will compete against each other weekly during a live broadcast. This time, the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. In the end, one artist will be named "The Voice" and receive the grand prize of a recording contract.

I agree. Linda Ronstadt was someone I listened to a lot when I was growing up. I have many of her vinyl albums. I hope Linda was told to watch The Voice the other night, so she could see a 16-year-old (no less) sing beautifully one of her original songs. I'm sure Linda would be so proud of Ruby. They both have voices of angels. I predict Ruby will win. And I love Reba on the show (what a great replacement for Blake.) Reba, you will win The Voice this year!

This song calls for a note of sorrow in the voice. Linda had it. Ruby has it. They aren't identical. Linda had a lot more training - my word she could sing opera. But Ruby has controlled power and that indescribable "something" that makes you want to cry. She is a real artist. It's crazy that she's so young.

What I especially love about this is that its such a short performance. It isn't super technical or show-offish, its just about the song and her practically perfect voice. That's exactly what makes it one of the best performances this season, and honestly among the best of all time on the show.

I still watch Girl Named Tom performances from The Voice. They sang a lot of songs from other eras. I think when they sang Wichita Lineman they probably won it.
I can’t stop rewatching too! I love her incredible performances and I like watching the judges’ reactions! I’ve watched every season of The Voice, and I have NEVER seen judges mesmerized and wowed by a contestant like they all are of Ruby!

Love the vulnerability in Ruby's voice throughout this performance. She told the story beautifully. The yodely thing in her voice was perfection.

HUGE Linda fan here and I cried like a baby hearing this superb rendition of Long Long Time. I thought no one could ever cover that great song and do Linda's legacy justice but this young lady did it chillingly and brilliantly. While NO ONE can fill Linda's shoes, I am in AWE of Ruby's talent!

It's a bit cliche to say 'its the best season yet', but it is the best season yet. Those that went home in the battles could have won in any other season. The talent is off the charts and each genre represented has incredible singers.

I was not a follower of The Voice but just happened to catch the first episode this season. That was it, I was engaged, hook, line and sinker! So much diversity, great talent, and age ranges .... very happy I tuned in to the first show.

I thought she was all yodels but she has so many dimensions of her voice. I love hearing the squeaks in her voice where you can hear the cry in her voice. She is the strongest of Team Reba in my book

She reminds me of Patsy Cline and Linda Ronstadt. She has a VERY powerful voice and an unbelievable level of control that seems way beyond her 16 years. I would think that finding a voice of this caliber is pretty much a sure win, we don't hear such a voice. but once in a generation.

I don't usually like country singers. But Ruby might be one of my favorites, along with Chevel! Pouring out emotions, with vocals not too overwhelming but instead, makes you feel the meaning of the song. I loved this performance and I hope she goes far.
Chevel could barely carry a tune. Ruby is in a whole other league vocally. Though she is a bit too county fair cowgirl for modern country music - her VOICE will always keep her paid to sing. Hopefully the world will spin right and the music industry will embrace a voice and body like hers. She *does* need a makeover!!!

WAIT WHAT?!?!?!?! She didn't just cover Linda Ronstadt, but she sang Mindy McCready's cover of the song. Mindy was a major Country Player in the 90s and we unfortunately lost her to suicide but her voice was AMAZING and her cover of this song is hand's down one of the best. For this young lady to even ATTEMPT to sing this song is ambitious but she did justice to both Linda and Mindy. BRAVO young lady, BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!

The best playoff/performance I've seen this season by a mile! The best in Reba's team by a thousand miles!! She should be in the finale. There are many noteworthy performances from other contestants like Huntley, Noah, Alexa, and other favorites, but this is a TOP. This is a type of performance that can't be denied no matter what genre one wants. From the time she starts until the last note ends oozes finesse. The emotion, range, that vibrato, the breaks that adds a cry to her singing (I'm sure she controls this), the technique, and facial expressions are just that good, and doing all that in perfect pitch. And her vocal tone is simply heavenly to listen. Simple yet complex. I really want to listen to the judges' comments on this one.
