Hello Peter, is it safe for non-professionals like me to replace this intake manifold gasket? I have watched quite some videos and read some technical notes. I feel like I can do it by following these steps.

Replace the PCV valve after removing the intake manifold.

Thank you, Sir. If I am only replacing the gasket, it is NOT necessary to completely remove all the hoses, correct? I do not need to completely take out the manifold?

trkoby Yes, you are right. There should be room to install gasket, when you took bolts away.

I accidentally dropped a small screwdriver into my corolla's throttle body when I was examining it. I can't see it through the butterfly valve. Haven't started the engine but not sure how worried I should be.

It makes only rattling sound, but I recommend you to remove it.

The red straw that you use with the spray can to clean the throttle body when flying inside the throttle body, I took off the throttle body but I can't see it when looking into the manifold, now my next step is I guess since I am a complete rooky, would be to take off the intake manifold, I appreciate any suggestions...

Hello Peter, I have a Corolla e12 1.4, 4ZZ-FE year of manufacture 2005. It happened to me when the engine was cold, so it went wrong to start. After a while, he jumped as if they were a wet ignition transformer. The engine spun as if lightly. I started after 4 days and it was a big fog. What could it be? Otherwise, everything works for many years without a problem. I have driven 118000 km. Thank you.
    Peter

may be a stupid question but once the hoses are unplugged, how do you plug them back and make sure they re tightly plugged and wont go off while driving? It seemed hard to remove them so I m wondering how to properly plug them back and secure them in.

Hi, Good question. Because this is a Quality Toyota car, all hoses and clamps goes very easily to back. Same way. And this is so easy, because Toyota parts are so durable and well made. Materials are super.

Also the Toyota's manual says that, for this intake manifold, all bolts have same torque of 22 ft*lbs.

I thinking avout buying a 2007 yaris sedan. It needs a new manifold, back tires, and handbrake cables. How long do you figure it'll take to replace the manifold.
