It took guts to be honest about the Fuji. That's what makes you a great spray gun reviewer. I've often wondered myself if the Fuji lived up to the hype, and it obviously doesn't, at least for the price of it. For as much as it costs, I would expect much more in feel and performance. Thanks for showing us, Pete!
Thanks, Boss. I always try and be objective about reviewing these guns. It's rare these days to get a bad gun, so you have to try and decide, given price, performance, build, and ergonomics, where some fits, and I struggled to see where the Fuji went to be honest. It's very well made, worked well on anything I used it on but it wasn't outstanding at anything either, if it was $100 USD I would be saying get one as it's a bargain, but, in the UK, it is equivalent to $500 USD or $550 USD with a cup, which means there's loads of, imo, better guns for the same or less money. Thanks as always, mate, for the support. It's much appreciated 👍
Hi mate, yeah, I've heard about the static matt, I very rarely use a matt, I just adjust the rollers. Apparently, the 5 is much quieter than the 4, which wouldn't be very difficult. I guess. Cheers, buddy 👍
its a great mid range gun i got sent one to review but i also see the problem as some of them cheaper Chinese guns you have seem to perform as or good or better for a cheaper price!! great video as usual pete 👍👍👍
Hi Grant, That's what I was left wondering in the end. If I hadn't got these Porphis guns, would I still feel the same? , I'll never know, I guess. In my mind, forgetting the Porphis guns, these Fuji guns are up against, on price, the Iwata W400 WB2, WBX and the Kiwami4 versions, the Devilbiss Pro Lite, Meiji Finer Core, ANI F200 etc and I think I would rather have any of those over the Fuji, not just on performance but the overall package. Cheers mate, appreciate the comments as always 👍
Hi Pete, a very good honest and fair review mate and I pretty much agree with everything you said about the gun but I hadn't noticed it being top heavy but I agree that the trigger is a bit short as like you I have shovel like hands so I also like the heavier guns, I thought you would prefer the 1.2 to the 1.3 as I found the same thing that the 1.2 gives a better finish when laying the clear but the 1.3 makes a damn good WoW primer gun👌 I'm pleased you borrowed my Fuji as you now know that it's not the gun for you which will save you buying one, I would put this gun in the GTI ProLite camp as it sprays very like the ProLite but I think it's a bit better made, I've always though this gun is a modern version of the ProLite👍 Anyway mate you got a cracking finish from the gun mate a bit to good if you ask me😂your putting me to shame mate😭😏😆looking forward to seeing more from it👍
Hi John, yeah, hopefully I've been balanced, I have put it up again at the Gti Pro Lite, and they are very, very similar , including the pattern that looks identical. I much prefer the Pro Lites. They are lighter by around 150g and have such a range of cap's and setups that it makes them very versatile. The Fuji is better made and has a far less complicated sealing system for the tip and baffle arrangement so I can understand you saying it's like a modern Pro Lite as I'm sure Devilbiss would try and do away with there system, maybe like the DV1 so it's more a permanent seal which should help longevity. Cheers, John, thanks for the loan 👍
Yeah if I didn't know better I would say the Fuji is designed around the ProLite with the over designed baffle system removed or simplified, the weight of a gun doesn't really bother me apart from the Slim Kombat which to me feels like a plastic toy in my hands😅 I really enjoyed your review though Pete as IMO you are among the best (if not the best) reviewers on here, no matter what gun you review you are always unbiased in your opinions👌 Thanks Pete and I'm pleased you enjoyed using it👏👍
Hi mate, it should be covered in the videos below. The Xodus is a Meiji Finer Core , exactly the same gun as Meiji make them for them, I got my ones almost 3 years ago 👍 ruclips.net/video/Hx_WpDvwPPA/видео.html ruclips.net/video/xkbKZT0rKMw/видео.html ruclips.net/video/aV3T4lbXUCw/видео.html
I use a matte vinyl. You can use gloss, but you will need to grey scotchbright it after application, which you don't have to do with the matte. It's a standard exterior vinyl rated at 5 years, but that will be extended by clear coating over the vinyl, so yes, pretty much standard really
Hi David, I have thought about it. The trouble is that by the time it gets to the UK, it's around $220 USD, which is up with the Porphis guns. Now I'm sure the Avalon guns are good, but I wouldn't mind betting that aren't as good as the Porphis guns, so I'd rather spend the money on those I think. If they have an offer sometime, then I'll try one, so maybe one day, have you used one? , you can get them with different caps, I think, like the LPH400 , cheers mate 👍
@peteshobbies5383 no, I was hoping you'd buy one so we all could could see how good they are. I'm about to pull the trigger on the 717 but all things considered, I'd rather buy from a allied country than an advisory like China if I could help it.
I'm sure the Avalon guns are fine. A few people have told me they really like them and are, as you know, effectively an LPH400 clone but I'm not sure if they are a lower pressure gun like the LPH or a WS400 type of gun. Those who have said they have them when talking to me don't go into much detail really, just saying they are really good, having said that I'm always comparing things in my mind because I has access to so many different ones so I guess it's peculiar to me to always think like that rather than how most people think 🤔
Yeah, the YZ had the speed block decals, normally in red, as the bikes were white. They were used on a wide range of Yamaha stuff. They still do some bikes in them as limited edition models. One bit of useless trivia, but worth remembering if you making you own decals is Yamaha will never use the Yamaha motor tuning fork logo inside any speed block decals, only the Yamaha name or nothing, totally worthless information really 😉 😂, cheers mate 👍
That's unusual. Normally, the YZ and TY were white with red and black decals, and the IT Enduro ones were a light blue with yellow decals. Maybe different markets had different colours. If it was yellow, I'm guessing it had a black speed block. Yellow was normally Suzuki RM & PE models
I seem to remember these being relatively cheap when they first came out, half way between an ANI 160 and the cheaper w400's, they seem to have doubled in price.
Hi buddy, originally, I was thinking of importing one from Canada, which was a few years ago , I'm sure they were around $330 USD at the time, but now, particularly in the UK they are around $550 USD, plenty to choose from up to that price as you will know, cheers mate 👍
FUJI's are MADE IN TAIWAN Pete. It's all branding and marketing Hype. Especially from those who get handed one for free or discounted to do reviews which are sometimes Bias.
Hi buddy, Yeah, I think I said that in the video, Fuji are a Canadian company, but these are made for them in Taiwan. When these first came to the UK, they were around £550 gbp, which was silly. The price was reduced a little while afterwards, but they are still £450 gbp with a pot. There's loads about at that price or below that's as good or better, the Iwata WBX , WB , Meiji Finer Core, ANI Black all spring to mind, and you would get change to by some paint 😀. Cheers mate, appreciate it as always 👍

Great stuff Pete . I have the 5 and it’s awesome with the electric static Matt upgrade

Pete that's good very impressed 😊I haven't seen anything like that
Hi Andrew, It's a classic Yamaha logo, still used today. It looks great in black against the yellow, cheers, mate 👍
my local supplier are selling Fuji MP-V8 1.3 brand new for £240, is it worth the purchase?
Hi Mate, it's not a bad gun, quite heavy but well made. At that price, it's probably worth getting
Hi Pete, a very good honest and fair review mate and I pretty much agree with everything you said about the gun but I hadn't noticed it being top heavy but I agree that the trigger is a bit short as like you I have shovel like hands so I also like the heavier guns, I thought you would prefer the 1.2 to the 1.3 as I found the same thing that the 1.2 gives a better finish when laying the clear but the 1.3 makes a damn good WoW primer gun👌

Hi Pete, I was wondering if you use a particular vinyl for your decals to clear coat on top of? or can you get away with the standard type .
