    I have a '24 I just picked up less than a week ago. By day 3 I had "electric mode temporarily unavailable". I'm pretty sure it's because of several short (less than 10 minute) errands over 3 days. I had to let the oil heat to 190f for a few minutes to get electric mode back. Now I keep it in e-save until it fully warms up, then switch to hybrid and let it do its thing. This was between 15-30f.

      EMTU is a different state than FORM. EMTU is actually a proper response when the outside temperature reaches 5F/-15C. That's actually what proper operation should look like. However, a lot of 4XEs will display FORM instead of EMTU.

    If you talk about temperature. Im always park outside, no garage. A outside temp of -12c engine start no matter what. I remote start the engine like 5 min before I leave. Drop the kids and the wife at work then go to my work. Total run time of the engine aprox 20-25 min. I do have deform this years. After a few day of this scenario, i will eventually be in form.
    That form wont clear unless my oil is over 93c between 30 min to 2h30. Then back to that same cycle.
    On top of it the oil going to 0% 2-3 week after in form if i dont clear it.
    Great car in summer month as an EV, dont like short distance and extreme Alberta cold in the winter.

    I run in electric mode to and from work which allows for a heavier foot on the gas pedal without turning the motor on. When battery runs out I switch to esave mode and have allow battery charging in esave settings. This makes the motor stay on with the battery a certain level below 100%. Running in these two modes keeps it out of FORM.

      I don’t always use eSave but I will pull the shifter over to the left at stop signs and stop lights during the winter to keep the engine running and avoid those short engine runs. Sure seems like that helps.

    Watching your videos cause my Renegade 4xe showed FORM a month ago. It finally informed me to get an oil change so I did. It helped. Now a month later it shows me the FORM message again. It is very cold here right now (-10 Celsius) and I've NOT been driving hybrid since Christmas. When the snow and Ice clears from the roads I'll take it across country and see if it helps.

      So true. But what has happened to some 4XE owners is that the crack has happened really quickly after start up. With a regular heater core, there’s at least a little bit of a ramp up time.

    My oil since last winter when in form goes to 0% after 2-3 week in form. Was not an issue on the first winter, so I assume one of the update is the cause. No fix for now so will probably happen again 😞

Last night we plugged it in and this morning the FORM light comes on and she’s stuck driving it in ICE. It makes no sense at all. Plus multiple electrical issues like memory seats reset after a week, display screen glitches and disconnects the blue tooth, auto trunk stopped working, auto dimming displayed never worked since we got it. • @Wrangler4XEFans
      @Wrangler4XEFans  7 месяцев назад

      @@edgraziani5019 There are 3 things that will cause FORM. There’s the 90 day timer on the gas tank since the last fill up, there’s a timer on the engine since the last start and there’s an oil dilution algorithm. I would have to guess that it was due to the oil dilution software and wasn’t due to the timers on the gas or the engine. Were you using hybrid mode a lot instead of electric mode? Depending on your case use, leaving it in hybrid mode can cause a lot of short engine runs. Unfortunately, with Direct Injection engines, those short engine runs can lead to oil dilution.

      When it’s that cold, there’s really no point to trying to clear FORM. Below 5F, it will be in Electric Mode Temporarily Unavailable anyway. The end result is the same, electric mode will be unavailable. It’s best to wait until it’s at least in the 20s and follow the procedure in the manual to clear FORM.
