I completed the warranty recall for the defroster issues and I have experienced a loss in power at highway speeds. So far it has only happen once but I am concerned it will happen again.
They also changed the aggressiveness of the max generation braking system. I prefer the previous feel where the Jeep could be driven like a golf cart at times. Now I am using the brake more. I understand that this is a preference thing and I would like to know how you feel about it after the update. Thanks.

So Odd, I have a 4xe and never had that issue. I currently have 10,000 miles on it. I love the 4xe

I have a 2024 Sahara 4xe and the only issue I got was the red turtle of slow death mode happening out of nowhere. Had it towed to the dealership and they couldn't figure out why it happened, blamed it on the 12V battery, cleared the codes and gave it back. All was covered under Jeep Wave and the warranty so the only inconvenience was having it stay at the dealership for a few days. Except for that issue, this car has been an absolute blast, so much fun to drive, especially when it's sunny!

Seems like if you run the electric mode hard right from the start the battery overheats and the car cuts it off for safety . Just like a Tesla..........not

It happened once in a heavy rain. Like it was transferring from electric to gas engine rapidly. More then yours. The the message electric not available appeared. I stop in a parking, did the same shot off you did and never had this problem again. I thought of an other source for the problem could be one of the switches that indicate that the hood is not close. If one was making intermittent false contact this would stop the electric circuit for the electric motor. And for those saying to go back to full gas Jeep, this is my fourth Wrangler and sorry I'm not going back. there is more advantage and fun to have with the 4XE but that's an other story.

I get this all the time, I believe the batteries are heating up due to the power output needed to sustain those speeds. It limits power to preserve the battery and keep it from overheating.

I think you’re right it has not happened again and when It did happen, I was pushing it. 😕

That lack of power is what happened to mine right before the battery went out completely and had to be replaced.

2023 Rubicon. I tried all electric on my commute but at 70 mph in Texas it started slowing down until gas kicked in. I am pretty sure it was a maximum it could handle and the slowing was probably like someone else said, overheating and protecting the battery.

Not sure what to say about the problems, but for sure enjoyed the video. My own Jeep is getting old, and i am not sure, if i want to go the hybrid route with Jeep.

Good idea to choose the way we could choose the type of maxregen , for me, i prefer the agressiv one

I believe at a certain speed it kicks over to hybrid. My 24 does it on the highway around 65

Mine does this as well, I believe this is normal. My theory is that 130HP isn't nearly enough to push nearly 6000lbs at freeway speeds for very long before the battery/electric motor gets too hot. I am betting that it is detecting the battery temp and throttling down to compensate.

OK, good to know because I haven’t done it since maybe I was pushing it too hard

I never use electric only mode on highway. It depleets battery to fast. If going for long drive, I use hybrid with manual shift to "blend" in hybrid gas & battery, and then once battery

Jeep recommends to use Hybrid or E-save mode on highways.

18 months of 4xe wrangler life. At some point they TOTALLY nerfed Max regen. I hated it at first.... then got use to it and would drive exactly as you do. At some point in the last year SOME update toned it down. I want the OLD Max regen back and I am annoyed I cant simply set what I want from a default menu.... When I lived in the mountains the OLD regen was fabulous......for mindlessly yoyo getting battery back. You just got the thing up to speed, let off the gas slow down a bunch, go back up to speed over and over again, and do that for 4000-5000 feet down a mountain and you got 1/2 or more of your battery capacity back. Traffic depending... Not like that so much anymore. The less aggressive max regen does not do anywhere near as well on getting battery back and as a getting your foot off the brake. #get me max regen back!
I get why people did not like the old regen. It was aggressive and took getting use too. But once you DID, it was better. This should be a setting beyond on and off.

Interesting video, we will take into account the battery temperature.
What mounts do you have to hold the phone and camera on the dashboard?

This is normal for the electric to act that way. The electric engine is maybe like 100 hp. The threshold to start the engine electric is lower as it priorities the electric. I have a 2021 and it always act that way since i own the vehicle. It is noting to do with the update. That why you should keep it in hyrbid and will have a lower treshold to start the engine.
Also you are not totaly right with the max regen comment that say that max regen you save your brake. It is partialy true. You always use max regen on every brake application. The real brake will only apply when you come to a complete stop. So max regen on or off is the same thing so no difference. It always regen. Max regen simply a one pedal mode. You can have the same effect by pressing harder on your brake.
