i looooved this game as a kid/teenager i'm a fantasy girlie and the medieval era is a very strong interest of mine this game was made for me. i was so sad they didn't do anything else with it past that first expansion :( i remember hoping people would make mods for it like they did with sims 3 only to be extremely disappointed when it never came
this is legit my favorite part of the sims series. this game had SO much potential... i only wish it was marketed the right way. just imagine if there were mounts, other kingdoms as locations to visit, custom quests, spontaneous monster attacks, bloodlines, competition for power, etc. the mod community of this game could've been absolutely wild. it could've been your every fantasy game dream come true. i kinda wish people would remember about this game and decide to adopt it and make it better. it's just such a fun concept with a lot of free space for creativity, if only people were given the right tools.
This game would have mopped the floor with sims 4, and does by having a better queue feature, lore and interactions. The sims 4 fails with aesthetics and making every sim special to the world they’re made for, especially occults
sims medieval is honestly so much fun, if you want fun back stories and drama i highly recommend playing the scripted events for Pleasantview in the Sims 2! there so many videos on like play order for the events but that town has a LOT of drama and hidden hints to things :) love this video by the way! would love a sims LP of some sort if you are up for it :)
This gaaame! 😭Somewhere between 'whale ate my parents' and a quest where a pirate called Pirate Booty (aka P.Booty, aka Pooty) wanted me to kill a bunch of chinchillas so he could cover his ship in fur, I realized this was a straight up masterpiece. 🤣 It makes me so happy to see people discover it. Anyone who hasn't should try this game, and don't get stuck on the tutorial. The writing is SO GOOD.
It's crazy that in all the years of the sims 4 we have never gotten a spin off game of any kind.... Like 2014 up until now and nada. Anyway, I loved this video Liss
It's because sadly this game did not sell all that well, same reason they never made any DLC past the first one. My best guess is that they already had the first DLC mostly done at launch or that one may have never even came out. The next game they found out they could just sell you obscene amounts of DLC and people would just buy that, so no need for spin off games anymore.
Well Sims4 is a dlc platform that milks gaming whales, and apparently does it so well its just infinite stuff packs forever now. We might never get a sims 5
A really random thing about this game that I love is that the skin tones look so much better than vanilla sims 3 they should have honestly ported over the textures because they are so good
Oh, THIS game! One thing I love about this one, is that not only do you get to play with different character types, but sometimes what one of them does directly affects another character's quest. For example, in one quest my Monarch had to duel a bandit with a special sword. How I started this, was...by playing as the BLACKSMITH, to _make_ the sword, who then sold it to the Merchant. I switched point of view to the Merchant and opened her shop in the morning, not selling the sword from other customers until the Monarch came by. Then I changed point of view to the Monarch and duelled the bandit. :) You can do an entire frickin' supply chain. I love it. ....also this is the only game in the entire Sims franchise where a Sim can directly, deliberately END another Sim. You don't have to lock them into a basement and say "Oh, it's _totally_ my character doing this, for revenge, in the story" while it's actually you the player doing it and the "revenging" Sim is blissfully unaware, eating grilled cheese upstairs. No you can straight up duel someone to the death, or chuck them to the Pit Beast! That + traits such as "licentious" and the fact that you can brew actual alchohol, kinda give The Sims Medieval a bit of a spicier feel....while still having the good ol' Sims wackiness. :)
I used to play this game night and day and would get no sleep, would get no homework done and my mom finally lost it and snapped the games disk in half so I had to retire forcibly
I've played through this game multiple times as a child, and even as a teenager. I made up so many stories and drama between the sims, it was crazy fun
That was my EXACT issue with this game I hated starting over and over just to make the home screen look complete and satisfying If I could start the ambitions with the town I just built I would have never abandoned the game I got it on an origin flash sale years ago but I got the old IOS version for free on the Apple store when it came out I wish I could play the mobile version again lol!! Proper mermories
I’m so blessed up to be sick in bed looking for something to watch and seeing this pop-up. This is my favorite sims game and I love this series of you visiting old sims games!
This is probably one of my favorite games, haha. There's actually a ton of quests that don't always appear in each playthrough, so even though you're technically starting a new one, you can still play through without repeating very many quests. Also, the challenges after that intro one? They take a LOT longer and get a LOT harder, so even though you created that tutorial kingdom fairly quick and it feels too soon, that stops pretty quick haha. Part of the challenge is trying to hit Gold success with each challenge, and I've gotten pretty dang close to failing SO many times. By the time you complete a challenge, you're kind of ready for a new kingdom with new sims hahaha
This was such a fun and comfy video do watch, I used to play this game so much when I was 12, I remember going to the store and look at the cover and be like "whaat? is this an expansion or something?" and I got it and just ended up falling in love, very fun and very underrated, there should be a new one
This game is fun but does get tedious after a while. I do like that the ambitions give you something to strive towards but yeah resetting saves is annoying. I do like that doing achievements does unlock more customizations. Also kids can be promoted to the hero if their parent dies.
I remember my dad buying this out for me and i had a really bad eerie about this game. But how medieval game was beautifully crafted thru gameplay, scenery, automations, made this game weirdly nostalgic 😭🤣
tbh yeah, I've been trying to beat every ambition, and now I realize I need to finish one kingdom, then take a break until I feel like playing again in order to start a new kingdom with a new ambition. Because if I try to start a new kingdom right away, I loose interest quickly and end up taking that break anyways. I even have a notepad to take notes on all the quests so that when I reach the final ambition, I can plan the ultimate kingdom!
I literally just replayed this game and had sooo much fun. But I ended up uninstalling it when I beat the main storyline and was sad to find out that you can’t keep doing the challenges with an existing save. I hate that to do the big challenges you have to make a whole new kingdom. I was attached to what I had. I guess I could’ve kept playing but my disappointment not being able to complete the challenge system (or rather not wanting to) threw me off.
Dude I LOVED this game. I created a whole drama kingdom where the spymaster was having the kings baby. The drama! The duels! Would love to see them do something like this again so long as it doesnt get the damn sims 4 microtransaction treatment
I was thinking about getting this game... I had it when I was in middle school back then, but I kinda didn't get it right, because I was young and had literally no attention span at all xD but seeing this video makes me curious again :D

I was about 12 or 13 years old I think. then a year later I got to play the sims 4 and in between playing expansion packs for the sims 3 (coz the sims 4 was really bad jesus) I got to play this. im a young adult now and the sims will always be a part of me going forward
I rlly like sims medieval. I’m using the brave new world quest to have a generational monarchy. Now I’m on gen 6 and I actually update the family tree in my notebook heh. 4/6 kingdoms have elf names (i use some elvish translator on the internet, and I used elf names generator for monarchs’ names too) bc I married the princes of Effenmont in gen 2, but now I think I bred out (?) the elf genes, so maybe next gen I’ll go back to human (?) kingdom names. Also, they’ve all been jacobian since gen 1. The quests repeat sometimes but it’s not that bad for me, I try out different scenarios when I can.
I love this game and have some tips. The best fatal flaw is drunkard for sure. Easy to manage with lots of buffs for drinking. Save the Sims you create in CAS and you just pick them again if you want on your next game. Also motherlode works 🎉
