- What would make a man with a well-paying job, a beautiful family, a daughter he had just adopted and great future plans jump all the way from the 17th Floor, taking his own life?
Did he Jump or was he pushed?
We might never know, however on this episode of LNS, the late Stephen Mumbo's brother George Waore is speaking for the first time about his brother's life as he also takes us through his own hard life in the UK and why he quit his well paying job in Kenya to start from scratch in London
He will also take us deeper into what kind of a man Steve was, why he doubts he jumped and how he wants people to remember him

Lynn this story is truly sad. You have done due diligence here. George, I don't know who you are, but the first part about the bomb blast is one I can relate. I pray that you find the answers you seek. Death is so final. May God comfort you. The good part is that you know The Lord. He will see you through this too

Such a sad story of the untimely demise of a bright young man. May the truth come out for the sake of the family, and for justice. People, let's talk and share our struggles and pain
Thank you George for highlighting and summarising life in the UK so well in such few words! Our families back home have too much expectations for us and have no idea how life is in the UK! George, his lovely wife Catherine and their children are the most amazing family I know! Thank you for being a voice for your brother. I pray that someone somewhere shades light to what really happened to him.🙏
I almost thought George was talking about Canada. It isn't different over here. When many of us moved from Jamaica to Canada it was more than a culture shock. You won't get the same professional job you had in your country of birth unless you've had the opportunity to be taken under the wings of some of your own people already living in the diaspora and, who are already established in the same profession. You'll have to start all over again, working from the bottom up. The good thing however is that you'll get there eventually after you have been established. There are usually two options: you can either work for someone thereafter or, start your own business.
Bravo to team LNN 👏 🙌 , LNN is now globally wacha Mungu aendelee kukufungulia mipaka uende duniani kote na hata Gulf pia ututembelee, May God continue to uplift you LNN
Thank you George for sharing. Definitely not easy and hurts deep. This will heal and restore so many that are going through difficult times. I hope the family finds peace and closure. I agree with you, the words 'whatever it is you are going through, its going to be ok' are a game changer. Thank you for reminding us to slow down and be a little nicer to people as it does not cost anything. I was at your wedding and was trying to see if I will see myself in the photos. May God's blessings continue to be upon you.

I am a Nigerian who now resides in the States with my children. But Lynn Ngugi documentaries is impactful and very inspiring. I now understand what my children have been going through in this country. I know that the mentality of money growing up in trees abroad is a misconception. And the sacrifice of sending money home to support our family should not be taken for granted. My deepest condolences to Mr George and his loving family. The Lord's promise of Resurrection is a great Hope to Belivers. Lynn, thank you immensely for being a great presenter, friend and daughter. You have made me a Kenyan! For you have spoken the deep concerns of our common African culture and history to the world. Mental issues are real and should be handled by sensitive human beings.
This is very painful. Working environment is killing us slowly. May the family find courage to move on and keep his legacy
I have worked in a Big Four firm and the pressure is real and people high up struggle with balancing work and family. My condolences to the whole family. I hope the wife is getting the love and support she needs to raise her beautiful daughter. Thank you Lynn.

Besides of social media rumours, now is his brother,it could be great if the wife can be given a chance to speak of his husband last moments behaviours since she was closest at that time, to my view this guy needed just a push to make his decision of leaving the job,I mean like from the wife or brother,I remember I was facing the same problem, doing my job so passionately to make the company keep going and one day I realized am developing panic attacks every time I was at work, but when I shared with my mum , she sensed danger, she advised me to resign asap and take break, guess what? After my resignation that night I had my best sleep and my peace of mind was restored..

Finally someone put it out as it is. There are no shortcuts in the diaspora. We work twice as hard! Nothing falls on a silver platter. If you go to the diaspora with the mindset that money falls from a tree, you’re in for a rude shock!

Sending love to this family, I remember the ‘breaking news’
there’s a lack of police competency in serious cases like this. It’s sad that families have to grief and never get a closure on their kin.
Very touching story. Ear pricking...dad dies and burried in absentia, didn't do any teenage stuff, very obedient. From a therapist point of view, there was inbuilt internalised trauma. He took responsibility for
everything! Makes some sense?? But who knows what happened to this young man?
He must have been overburdened with responsibility both at work and family. My two cent opinion.
@@teopistorsind9874 I bilieve family issues. excess job just compounded the problem
I concur absolutely. There are too many layers leading up to his demise. He was described as very intelligent from a young age, an over achiever. I really wonder how much he felt he had to do after his dad died, also he wasn't able to grieve him well. Over achievers also tend to have a heap of expectations hanging over their head from all corners. My heart goes out to George and his family. May they one day find the closure they need and deserve.
@@christinemunywe3408 as an over cheaver and a melancholic who works hard. Bouts of depression will visit you so I would understand.

As a Tanzanian living in the USA, resigned from my well paying in banking job last February. I am very relieved… I will never work in corporate world again.
Good decision.
Look mental health is more important than Money ,i live in Germany, alot of burnout here.
Corporate pressure is sth that needs to be addressed. Anyone working in Insurance and Banking especially the tier 1 corporates can relate, we get paid good salaries at the expense of our mental & social well-being... the pressure especially during end month to hit targets is beyond normal...

Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside while still alive. Never surrender.
This should be told to Kenyans. The pressure becomes worse when you are a student. You literally have no time for anything fun. Unaingiwa na depression. But we suffer for a better future. People at home should really be happy ata ka maisha ni ngumu. majuu haitaki laziness na akuna pesa ya bure vile watu huona. work work work. pesa iko but rent food tax. unaisha tu.

Let me leave my comment here.
I once worked in a property mgt company I almost lost my mind everyday I would end up worked out ,and pass out when I just get home and will wake up the next morning. Some jobs especially where your mind is totally getting exhausted can easily make you mentally unstable.I just woke up one day and I didn't even issue my resignation I said am not gonna report to work coz the workload is killing me,I better earn just enough to survive rather than earn more and end up mentally ill.I left that work the manager kept begging me to go since I was among the best perfect workers, they even wanted to add my pay but I said no.I choose my peace ✌️ than money .I learned to say no to toxic work environments .I quit without apologies and even don't care about the pay. Let's learn to say no where our minds are extremely exhausted..Its hard to go back to normal once the mental state deteriorates. You start sinking.May Steve rest in perfect peace. And may those who had a hand in death never find peace . Justice will prevail
I remember when this aired on news and in the papers. It was the most bizzare thing, a senior PWC staff falls from top floor. This is so heartbreaking. Corporate stress/pressure is destroying people.
I hope and pray you find closure George about your brother Steve. A hard working man who did not deserve to die this way. Lynn... Thanks for being that voice and listening ear to many. May people come out. If anyone knows any information for the sake of closure. Steve's legacy lives on....
I've experienced this workplace pressure first hand. @lynn I think we need to have more conversations about workplaces and how unfortunately people are slowly dying for a paycheck
Some are dying for paycheck but majority (esp youths) are dying of depression, addiction, suicide etc cos of unemployment.
@@frashiahwangari2177 There is a lot of depression in the work place as well. Majority of it is unaddressed and unspoken

A very sad story. Corporates exploiting a young intelligent man. Steve was talented but also had faced tough issues particularly losing his dad while in form 4. Never underestimate grief , people deal with grief differently. A very short life but Steve fought a good fight. George, thanks for sharing the story and I love your analogy on how People read the bible.😂
I agree we grief differently. I lost my hubby in 2010 when my son was in form four like Steve and I didn't give him enough time to mourn after the burial, he did well in his fourth form but he has never settled after that.
About Steve wife, George please understand her. It took three years to believe it was a reality my hubby was no More. May our good Lord walk with you because it's a journey.
This has given me courage to seek closure for the loss of my lil'bro. With the little info I have,I will seek answers for my family and myself. So help me God.
Steve's story really really disturbed me. I even shared the story on facebook urging people to stop misusing that colleague who works so hard and never talks back. Shame on PWC! How is it even allowed for staff to leave at midnight and be back at their desks my six a.m. in the morning? There was a lady who claimed she witnessed the incident from the next building and swears he was pushed and he went down throwing his hands in the air like one resisting. Audit is very very sensitive. It was also curious how quickly the employer implicated the home situation as culprit.
Even from the picture one can tell he was a good man ,may his soul rest in peace
Most people go through so much underneath while those around them won’t know.
Yes and the higher you go the more lonely it gets!Somebody said ppl who commit suicide are a times screaming for help.

Very true!
I’m deeply sorry for the loss of your brother. Please don’t crucify me about me comment. When the brother spoke of having mental challenges, he may have been having paranoid delusions when he said that people were after him. Countless people around the world with serious mental issues unmanaged have killed themselves especially if their work or home environment is not supportive. In this case the work may have pushed him over the edge. He agreed and made plans for the week ahead….. was he now on autopilot? It does happen. Depression doesn’t always present itself as chaos. Sometimes it comes looking very neat and with a smiling face but with turmoil underneath. He could have been having high functioning mental illness . I’m so so sorry.
In my opinion he was burn out. It can lead to depression which can lead to suicide.

Yap, as we all arrive in UK, cleaning or care work. No matter what you have been that is the starting point.
Mine was security.... God. I was 21years young lady.
Am not young, am a mama I know it, I cleaned private homes, sometimes they have not flashed toilet. I left a note on toilet seat, after cleaning it. "FLASH THE TOILET AFTER USE" they never left it unflashed again.😅⚘️
He had his lunch box up there . No way a person who planned to suicide would do that!
Something triggered that reaction, its so sad!Especially nowadays ppl who seem perfect or are perfectionists they are in a tunnel can't imagine anything else .
@@mwendapoleee how can they explain about no fingerprint at a crime scene !NOT EVEN A SINGLE ONE . Suicide or not the crime scene was supposed to have few fingure prints of the people who been there .
NO WAY STEVEN OPENED THE WINDOW WITHOUT LEAVING A FINGURE PRINTS (SO ITS A COVER UP ON MY PERSONAL OPINION , and iam not saying it must be a cover up but it sure looks and sound like it .
@@mwendapoleee since he was holding a very sensitive information . There is percentage of probability about the incident being a murder , having no fingureprint means that room was cleaned up very quickly . Or the person who wore gloves was the one opening the window glass and he was pushed . Although suicide can also be an option but we cant remove the chance that it could have been a murder . He was too smart iam sure he would have leave a note for farewell and make sure the family had closure .
@@katiesilvester3300 Its sad all the same what ever caused his death!
im a caretaker of a depression victim who has been under medication since 2012 and has tried swicide few times, and i can assure you these people just snap since their brain is impaired. hata ukimkelelesha anaweza jirusha, unlike a normal human wueh. these people love love, kuongeleshwa poa and support, even though some ghet overcome despite all the help
Sometimes it is okay to give up, to take a break but some people only know that they should give the best to others forgetting themselves because giving the best is all they know. When pressure is too much, it's okay to take a break. Sounds like Steve was not a quitter , he cannot have committed suicide.
Not to take away from Steve’s story, may the family and friends find peace.
That said, Lynn thank you for this platform and for giving people an opportunity to truly understand how life in diaspora is.
Steve was under attack
May his soul rest in peace
It's true outside country kabla ushike line ukua noma... But we thank God for everything

You can talk to someone everyday but are they really listening?
