@@itscharliearthur9094a book I found helpful although it simply states the obvious was “Do it Anyway” from an author who spent 30 years in therapy. The idea being just go do your life despite your depression. Action, doing this, getting busy takes time away from lying in bed and going down the rabbit hole. And as you do things you ACTUALLY get better, just thinking about what’s wrong and what you COULD do or SHOULD HAVE done differently and finding things and people to blame and excuses for staying idle just drag you deeper in the hole. Trouble is once you’re way down there it gets really really hard to just brush your teeth. Ask for help. Ask a friend to give you a couple of days to get up the ladder far enough that you can keep climbing out of the hole. SRIs can stop the ladder rungs from breaking underneath your feet. Wish you good luck. And look up at the sky. There’s heaven above you.

Jo, Jo. I respect your view totally as I have friends who are teachers and who are fed up with the apparent world view that teachers have to make up for all of societal failures by filling in the gaps of absent or inadequate parenting. However, I do believe that given the amount of time children are in school compared to the time spent at home, I am wondering if there is any merit in some of the life skills that Piers mentioned that could be taught at school - not by teachers perhaps but by other adults ? Perhaps volunteers could run a programme for this? I have met wonderful retired people whose chaotic childhoods were turned around by a teacher who went above and beyond and who steered them onto a more positive path and who would be willing to give something back to children who may benefit from such a programme. After all, it does indeed take a village to raise a child. Regards to all.

The second AJS in a row that has to be put right:
"People" written as you wrote it means everybody in the world, as you don't specify exactly who you mean, therefore you're stating that everyone in the world is that way, and that's obviously crazily bonkers and most furthest from the truth. All you have to do is add the word "certain" before "people" and that would be good enough.
But having said that as for your main part of those specific people who have become that way, on the moral high ground in their own opinion, and think they have the right to be like a new Adolf Hitler or Benjamin Netanyahu and knowingly try to destroy peoples lives at their pleasure, for a sick few hours of entertainment for themselves before they go back to their own self-made depression, like my previous Doctor Christopher Longstaff tried, then yes you're absolutely right and these people need to be destroyed IMO.

What he says about mental health vs mental illness is true.
My mum has suffered from horrendous mental health issues my whole life and is now confined to a secure care home at the age of 62.
I’m so so sick of people claiming to have mental health issues when in fact they are just having a bad day or worse, are using mental health as an excuse for their behaviour or lifestyle. I know a number of people who have absolutely done this so I won’t be convinced otherwise.
It’s normal to feel stress, sadness, anxiety, fear etc… that’s life!
If your job, relationship, appearance etc… is making you stressed or unhappy then change it, don’t just jump on the mental health bandwagon.
It belittles and undermines those who have serious genuine problems and gives the perfect excuse for people who want to place blame on something other than themselves.
It’s also stretching mental health services to breaking point when they should only be used by those who genuinely need them, not people that just can’t or won’t cope with life’s ups and downs.
Sorry but that’s the truth in many cases.

I totally disagree and I have no great love for Piers Morgan.
This is a completely different format, it's long form ( literally over an hour and no ad breaks save for Steven telling us about the "journey" he's been on with Huel )
This type of podcast is about finding out who the person is, it's not supposed to confront them or be combatative.
A program like Piers one on Talk TV is a completely different format, it's short segments usually about something very specific or topical.
If you let the guest talk unchallenged they'll just filibuster, especially politicians who literally specialise in talking for hours whilst saying nothing at all usually.
All the sad Tate fanboys were outraged that Piers had the temerity to challenge their hero on the utter bullshit he trots out, which he did a horrible job of defending for anyone remotely objective. Which I consider myself to be far more than the guy above in this comments section given I find Piers tiresome and irritating every bit as much as Tate.
But actually in that interview where Tate would just have gassed on endlessly, having Piers challenge him was effective, particularly his ridiculous semantic gymnastics dodge rather than either just owning what he said or saying he no longer believed it. Either of those would be honest responses, not the one he went with which was classic victimhood bullshit that you're so misunderstood..

      Saran Kaur.
Do you mean a lot of people in your country? Why don't you write that? Why don't you try and get some knowledge before you write a comment if that's supposed to be all that about all the people in Britain, or worldwide, because what you've written is a lie.
My views are basically exactly the same as Piers Morgans, albeit probably mine are on a softer version, and I didn't need reminding about it because it's with me all the time, so stop thinking you know everything about everybody because you absolutely do not, you have a hell of a lot to learn just with the four simple lines that you've written, and thats "simple" in the context of "not that bright".

In an interview gone by conducted by the late great Dame Edna, Piers admitted that he hadn’t done a thing in his career to improve Western Civilisation. I believe Barry Humphries is his wisdom, could see potential in Piers and was spurring him on. Finally, Piers has stepped up to the plate. Thank you, for this podcast.

Piers, I hope you get to see this comment!!
I have never been a fan and I did allow other’s negative opinions of you to give me a misguided and bias view about you.
But…I can see a HUGE change for the better in the way you calmly, fairly, and objectively debate the guests on your new show! I am an absolute fan and It’s so refreshing that someone can say the honest truth that we are all thinking as common sense!
Also well done for sharing your ups and downs ito career opportunities/prospects. This is exactly what I needed to hear!
Please know that you DO have a very positive impact and that your wisdom is heard and welcome!
    Don’t ever give up!!
    I salute you! Thanks

Agree. But Piers wasn't wrong, either. The whole reason that so many people now are more likely to "misunderstand" the use of the word is exactly because so many many of them have been raised with this propensity to give in to self-pity, to think that normal life problems are somehow not normal. This is partly a generational thing: I think hardly anyone over 50 is going to be as much a victim of their emotions as the younger generations now (nor were they ever), and the younger generations are all likely to think that the older generations just aren't "enlightened" enough and don't "understand." To some extent, there's nothing new about that. ;)

Piers is of course entitled to his opinion. His toxic energy is repulsive. I wonder what he contributes to the world, other than contention? I was disappointed Steve had him on the show. However, people such as Piers are entitled to their 15-minutes. I listened to the interview hoping to see a different side of Piers other than a big mouth talker who considers no one else other than himself; he is who he chooses to be.

I wish too that I had seen this when it aired. Mr. Bartlett is an extraordinary interviewer and his guest in this episode was one whom I have admired for a very long time due to his tackling the issues at hand rather than letting them lie dormant and get worse. I was always taught to nip the issue in the bud - in other words don’t let it bloom and get out of hand.

I’m really enjoying this interview with Piers, I was never really a fan of him, however, he is showing me a side of him that maybe was always there, but because of the media or the medium that he was involved in, I missed so it’s nice to see, and hear the person without all the noise around him and just see this person as a person. He is actually I believe a better person than I thought he was and for that iam humbled and asking forgiveness for making assumptions about a person that I really didn’t know and this is why this podcast and RUclips channel is so important.
